☆    ━━ The quick and simple answer is no. However, I feel as though it is necessary to break down their relationship and explore why she will never forgive him. Under a cut, because it got a little long, whoops. NON-MUTUALS, PLEASE DO NOT INTERACT WITH THIS POST, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A PERSONAL, NON-RP BLOG!

THIS POST DEALS WITH NAMI'S PAST, SO TRIGGER CONTENT IS AHEAD (I.E., death, imprisonment, religion etc). PLEASE VIEW IT AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. THIS POST HAS BEEN TAGGED WITH APPROPRIATE TRIGGERS, BUT IF I MISSED ONE, DO LET ME KNOW!

When the fishmen invaded Cocoyashi Nami's entire worldview was changed, and in one traumatizing and defining moment, there was no money when it was needed the most. She lost everything in the blink of an eye, and she was chained and bound to Arlong Park — working with the man that took everything from her and was rejected by her village. She forced a smile to pretend as though she was happy to have money, rejected and shunned, forced to be alone as she desperately worked to free her village. She left behind the money she brought to the village, a prop to sell the lie.

Nami was not given time to grieve the loss of Bell-mère nor the loss of her village. She was forced to use her skills whilst also putting herself in danger and harms way to steal, but like a trained bird or dog, she always returned to that room — her prison cell. Nami stopped crying and sealed those emotions away because it was pointless at the time; her tears wouldn't save her or the village. All Arlong cared about was her ability to make him maps and charts. She bore this all alone because she knew it was pointless to wish that help would come; even the marines dared not interfere and so, like always she would handle the situation alone (at least until she finally allowed the straw hats to help as she finally let her walls down but I digress).

Nami built a persona of apathy because it made the situation easier for her to bear, and she felt as though she had to take Arlong down by herself because, in her eyes, it was her fault Bell-mère died. Here, she developed her relationship with money, and it doesn't stem from shallowness. In her eyes, money buys and equals security. With that being said, it also stems from growing up without it because money can buy well-being. She watched Bell-mère go without so that she and Nojiko could eat, and that made Nami feel guilty, but more than that, money could have saved her family. Arlong took away the one person who gave her shelter in front of her eyes because there wasn't enough money for all of them and then ripped her away from the remaining family she had left.

Nami knew that she couldn't tell the island the truth, so she made the decision to make them hate her, to allow herself to be utterly alone because she knew Arlong was too powerful for them to do anything. By pretending she hated her life with the villagers and as though she was happy to be with Arlong, she was protecting them in the only way, she knew how — by sacrificing her own happiness and freedom. Not only that, but Arlong had a marine CONFISCATE all the money she had saved up, which meant she would have to start over in a never-ending cycle of hell. Arlong did not care about Nami but what she could do for him with her skills at making maps and charting. Nami was fully ready to kill Arlong herself, even though she knew she wouldn't last one second in a fight against him.

The tattoo on her shoulder was a constant reminder of how truly helpless she was, how she was at his mercy — a reminder of her own imprisonment (and asking Luffy for his help was the hardest thing for her to do because she was used to facing all of her burdens alone. But again, I digress). Nami acted like an adult the second she was placed under Arlong's roof because there was no time for tears or being a child; the only thing on her made was survival and freeing her village. Nami will not and has EVERY right NOT to forgive Arlong for everything that he did to her and the entirety of Cocoyashi. He (Arlong) destroyed the pictures Nami drew that gave her comfort, the ones of her family, and made it so she would only use that pen to make his maps and charts; the very pen she used had blood on it. Nami spent countless hours drawing map after map warping something she loved into something she had to do for survival.

Under Arlong Nami believed (and witnessed firsthand) that anyone without money dies, so she holds onto money because it was the one thing that could not only keep her alive but the people she loved. He warped her entire worldview, changing the happy and smiling girl into someone who loathed herself for working with him, loathed the marines for doing nothing, and loathed pirates for what they had done to her once peaceful village. Arlong is no father to her and should never be implied as such; his motivations for taking Nami were purely selfish and should not be seen as anything other than that.

Her experiences made it so she does not believe in God, and even if she did, it would only be to curse him for allowing such a thing to happen as the destruction of her family and allowing a man like Arlong to freely exist in the world. In a sense, the only thing she believes in is the concept that money keeps you alive and can buy your well-being, a notion that was fostered by living under the tyrannical reign of Arlong. Even as Nami learns to heal, forgiveness will not be part of that process. Her life was made awful by him, and he DOES NOT deserve any ounce of her forgiveness. He deserves every ounce of her wrath and hatred for the things he did.

To conclude, Nami will never find it in her heart to forgive the man who destroyed her life and her village and shattered the happiness she felt growing up with her adoptive family.
