relationship :: our relationship is just... right— like the feeling you get when find the place your meant to be. the place you always return to. it's warm and all-consuming, filled with the urge to look after and protect— to keep safe. we're always thinking of the other, silently and unconsciously, me keeping a stock of the weird little hard candies he likes and him letting me tuck my cold hands against his ribs. always finding the time for simple dates— night-ins where i do all the cooking and he hovers, making himself a purposeful nuisance, spontaneous ones he put a little too much effort into planning, and forcing him to watch disney movies while tucked under heavy quilts. he tries so hard to be smooth but is incredibly taken aback and flustered when anything is reciprocated and leads to him pointedly sitting with his back to me for the next five minutes. an intimidating yet incredibly tender couple, constantly touching in subtle, little ways— fingers intertwined and shoulders brushing. insistent that he's not clingy but takes any opportunity possible to curl up on the couch or tuck himself against my side. a very dedicated couple— loyal to a fault and completely enthralled.

meet cute :: our meeting was a series of dumb coincidences. i made a dumb mistake— the last number'd gotten mixed up on my new phone and the paragraph-long text complaining about my annoying coworker and how she'd been purposefully making my shifts hell didn't go to my friend. instead, it was sent to a total stranger. i hadn't even realized until i'd gotten the reply, failing to inform me of the mistake themselves and instead telling me that "they sound really annoying, you should let me kill 'em." i ended up keeping the number. it was nice, having someone faceless to dump all my grievances on. but then i kind of forgot about it, complaining to my actual friend. the other coincidence happened when i was tucked against the wall behind the little diner i worked at. he's not really sure why he ended up taking the alley he did. or how he even noticed i had been crying. but he did and he found himself… concerned. crouched next to me and offered what i think was just a piece of an old t-shirt. connected the dots when i let slip what i was sad about— phone girl. "she sounds like she sucks— you should let me kill 'em for you," he startled a little laugh which brings a content little smile to his face. he felt warm. he ends up visiting the little diner anytime i have the night shift— sitting in my section wearing comically large sunglasses and a high-collared jacket.

alternate universe :: band au, i fall first but he falls harder; the lead guitarist and the band's drummer. starts off professionally, stifled interest and necessary interactions. he's incredibly elusive, which makes his sudden interest all the more apparent. he stops skipping after parties and doesn't leave events the moment he can— lingering so he can ensure we sit side by side or he can use pictures as an excuse to pull me into his side.
