a summary : why weiss schnee needs to rest both mentally &. physically. 

spoilers present for volume 6 ! 

she , out of all the rwby girls , has two dysfunctional people as parents. her father is an abusive douche canoe on a power trip &. her mother is an absentee alcoholic / enabler of her father’s actions. 

shitty childhood. i’m not saying that r_by didn’t suffer their own woes but at least their parents loved them. &. tried to care for them. weiss’ parents basically drove the girl to be a perfectionist in a really unhealthy way &. manipulated her. 

she’s lonely af. from what i can glean from her songs is that she tried to be friends before but they betrayed her / used her. 

her father’s secretary puts her against an arma giga grimm when her aura is really low &. expects her to be knocked out by it. instead she gets a scar on her face bc her aura is at a bare minimum. [ manga background ]

she gets to beacon ; &. people continue to talk badly about her because of her family name ( calling her things liked damaged goods , ice queen. ) yes , i know she was bitchy at the beginning. i know ice queen is supposed to be a joke but it’s said way too much that it has become irritating to me &. probably to her too. 

she is one of the only ones out of the main 8 that has her aura depleted multiple times in battle. in the fight with the white fang lieutenant ( where she is treated like a ragdoll ! ) , against team fnki ( literally sacrifices herself on a mini geyser for her teammate ) , &. against vernal ( need i say much about this ? ) 

after the battle of beacon where she is tired after jumping in to protect velvet , fighting until she is about to fall over , &. then helps ruby ... then hears that her friend has died , countless are injured , beacon is closed. she is sent back to abusive household.

her butt of a father makes her sing at a charity benefit , manhandles her when she just wants space at said benefit ! she gets aggravated , has an outburst where her semblance goes off ... father reprimands her by disinheriting her from the company , &. places her under house arrest. where she can’t even go out of the house ???

she escapes from abusive household to find her sister , is smuggled on a cargo ship then fights of a swarm of grimm by herself , the cargo ship crashes !! she is hurt , barely conscious , &. asking for help then she gets kidnapped by bandits. 

bandits then want to use her for ransom , while she is working on an escape plan from them she bumps into yang !! which then she is pitted against ozpin with raven’s story. when she finally makes it to her friends , they train &. when the big battle comes around ... she gets impaled by a spear after vernal takes out her aura. she nearly dies ( would have if jaune didn’t discover his semblance ) &. wakes up to fight again. to only find out they are going back to atlas. back to where she just escaped from !?!?! 

how are they going back ?! they are basically using her as bait through the closed borders. &. she clearly doesn’t want to go. 

BUT NO THIS ENTIRE LIST WASN’T ENOUGH. no , rt had to go &. traumatize the shit out of her by having her cold , scared , confused ! they have her discover corpses. make her have a panic attack. her screaming , her looking fragile as can be &. unsure of everything for the rest of the episode. 

in conclusion : weiss needs a break. she can only brush aside all of this trauma , sadness for so long.

me , clutching my heart : weiss seems fine even after all the traumatic shit that happened to her in volume 4 &. 5. but is she ? no. she thinks she is fine bc it is literally normal for her. her environment growing up taught her that melancholy was comfortable. loneliness , isolation , sadness in general was normal. being beaten down by her father’s words of never being good enough , that she would never amount to anything without his influence , her mother’s absenteeism / passiveness in his verbal manipulations , winter leaving , her brother too scared to do anything but to obey her father. everyone around her left her isolated in her sadness , in her trauma , in her pain. so she just doesn’t process it , &. no one around her really senses it bc she acts perfectly fine. even when the group is joking with her in volume 6 about her being essential for getting across the borders , she does not take it fondly. she scowls. it stings that they want to use her as bait to get into atlas. but she doesn’t say anything bc she is use to it. her father treated her like a pawn , like a show pony all of her life. i am so scared for when she breaks bc it is going to happen this volume with atlas being so integral to the storyline &. it will not be pretty.

* hc : piano. weiss can play the piano very well. however , she got an injury after a recital ( an altercation with another contestant earning her thin / almost undetectable scars on the top of her hand ) &. could not play for several months. her father saw no point in continuing her lessons, already lost months on an investment , &. focused solely on her singing from then on. now , she plays only in private &. she needs time to think for herself. if she plays music in front of your muse , it means she deeply trusts them or trusts that they will not tell anyone about her talent.

an innocent datemate thing weiss does is steal clothing to wear but she always gives it back. why ? because it will smell like her. light floral / faint vanilla perfume. plus , she doesn’t like keeping stuff from her datemates when she can afford new clothes for herself.

weiss is seething right now at everyone taller than her, but also consider her standing on a table to be taller. because she would.

* hc: halloween. weiss believes in the supernatural somewhat. she is jumpy &. paranoid in the first place when it comes to being in dark places. her house is a huge mansion so there are always strange noises about , so with her overactive imagination she dreamed up ghosts/monsters. it is why she hates horror movies &. will hide behind pillows or your muse’s arm if she is forced to watch one.  

halloween , however , brings a sort of joy &. happiness to the aspect of scary things. she has always wanted to dress up &. go trick-or-treating but never had the opportunity. she often sang at the sdc’s annual halloween party which was very formal. &. schnee being a schnee only dresses in schnee blues/white dresses that were dictated to her to wear. she doesn’t have much experience with the traditions of halloween such as costumes , pumpkin carving , hay rides , haunted houses , etc... either. also cliche as it sounds she would want to be an angel because she likes the idea of fluffy white wings with a pretty dress.

* hc: the red scarf. i saw rwby spoilers that weiss is going to have a red scarf &. tights. my weiss is going to have this due to her grandfather. PLEASE LET IT BE HER GRANDFATHER’S SCARF !! ——— from the WoR videos ?! a lot of what weiss does is due to the influence of her grandfather. [ in my origin story of nicholas , the scarf originally came from weiss’ grandmother , gwendolen aster schnee !! ]

hc: gymnastics. i know that weiss being a gymnast isn’t highlighted much over the much more popular ice skating / ballet headcanons. but she is / or at least was. i mean , she does ridiculous flips / jumps through the air &. lands them flawlessly. even unpracticed, she still lands them with one knee down. which is still amazing !! she learned gymnastics early on in her life , before puberty. with weiss’ determination , she would practice endlessly. this could have an affect of her growth since gymnastics at a very young age can affect women developmentally. ( this is just speculation. ) weiss quit gymnastics after her father saw no benefit in it &. that she kept getting hurt. later on when she decided she could be a huntress , she utilized her skills in combination with her glyphs.

how did weiss get her luggage back ? those bandits idiots ( minus raven + vernal bc they were off having a private discussion probably about their plan for haven ) had it after they scavenged the crash site. &. she threatened that her arma gigas would stomp on them. yang backed her up , of course. so they gave her all her belongings back &. then some extra dust for a sorry for kidnapping her. this is canon in my book , don’t @ me. it came through the portal after the motorbike went through. the case for myrtenaster was made for her with the group’s lien along with getting her dress mended / dry cleaned.

* hc : nightmares. continuing on my headcanons from previous iterations of my weiss , she does have nightmares. quite frequently due to her high anxiety &. the pressure she puts on herself. they are abstract concepts such as fears of loneliness , never being good enough , her loved ones leaving her by choice or in death , etc ... it is why is is hard for her to sleep. she sneaks away on bad nights to go train to take her mind off of her negative thoughts. training &. studying are good distractions since her brain has to focus on those subjects rather than her just sitting in silence. 

some episodes can get quite violent if she dreams on actual events in her life. there are a lot of terrible situations she has experienced &. any number one of them can be a source. weiss will thrash , breaths shortened , even lash out if someone tries to touch her to comfort her. the girl doesn’t know what she is doing due to disorientation but eventually she’ll apologize when she comes to her senses. 

this might seem odd for a person who has been mostly put together in dangerous situations ( such as her acting as if her near death experience was a scratch. ) she might act like they don’t have any significance to her but they do. it is very internal &. she’s very good at brushing things aside. it is seen multiple times throughout the show , manga , anthology &. even in chibi. the girl acts tough but is deeply affected by her insecurities in herself. 

after a nightmare , she will withdraw. become quieter , spacey , &. unaware of her surroundings. it is her way of coping with such a surge of emotion all at once. there is no reaching out for friends at first ——— this is very much because of her having to deal with her problems on her own ... practically all her life. there were klein &. winter , whitley if he could get away from their father’s everwatching eyes. but many of times , she had to deal with things by herself. it’s why much of the anthology is focused on her internal problems of opening up &. trusting others. she is opening up to her friends little by little but there are still some things she keeps to herself. so if someone she trusts deeply asks her what is wrong after an episode , she’ll tell them otherwise she’ll lie &. say that tiredness is to blame.

* hc. possessiveness. weiss doesn’t mind possessive behaviors in her significant others. it makes her feel desired &. enough for them. that they love her &. want to flaunt their relationship. she is often jealous herself so she doesn’t blame them for these kind of behaviors. she likes attention especially from her significant others but not to the point of distrust. so when she does start dating , if she sees her s/o getting jealous ( they start hugging her , rush to her side , hold her hand , a gentle squeeze of her arm to remind her that they are there ... ) she’ll reassure them with gestures of her own. but when that possessiveness / jealousy steps across the boundary of violence / distrust ? it is a HUGE no because she associates this behavior with her father’s abuse. 

for context of why: her father manhandled her by grabbing her / holding her with force by her wrists. he didn’t trust her to roam free by herself often times without causing a scene so he would squeeze her wrists to the point of pain before releasing her. like it was her reminder to behave. she often felt like an object rather than a person when she was around him. this is because she was shown as a trophy of his “ caring , nurturing family. ” it wasn’t because he loved her &. was proud of her .. it was to make him look good. &. she doesn’t fee safe being treated this way. with a person she loves , she is supposed to feel most secure. so if these possessive acts ever escalate to wrist squeezing to the point of pain , tugging her away from conversations violently , telling her she can’t be trusted around other people , etc ... she’ll probably get very very scared &. back out of that conversation by getting angry or shutting down. there’s a fine line here , &. if your muse somehow crosses it ... it will result in a hefty conversation afterwards. this is ONLY for significant others because if you do possessive things outside of a romantic relationship with her , she will not be okay.

* hc : the colorful flowers of the schnee gardens. this is an extensive look at what flowers grow in the schnee gardens &. what they mean. weiss’ mother , eilwen loves to garden. eilwen is reminded of the times when her father use to talk of her mother , gwendolen planting the most beautiful blooms. however , atlas’ long &. ardous winters a lot of common flowers won’t bloom in the country’s conditions. these are a list of some colorful winter blooms that are located throughout the estate:

first we begin with the foliage outside on the grounds. this bloom is beautiful in its yellow &. grows outside of the gardens in the forested estate surrounding the manor. why ? they are extremely poisonous !! they keep rabbits &. deer away from the houses. they spread like wild fire after eilwen planted them one day after a fight with jacques. they represent ‘ hatred. ‘

hellebores , the winter rose ( that isn’t actually a rose ) that blooms in a variety of colors. their colors range from cream to red to deep purples that almost look black. they are a tall flower &. they face downward so they are planted towards the center of the displays &. framed by other shorter flowers. the meaning of the hellebore is interesting in that the actual word broken down: helle - ‘ injure ‘ , bora - ‘ food. ‘ used as a  they mean ‘ protection from scandal &. calmuny. ‘

although they are cabbage &. not flowers , they are included because of their vivid colored rosettes. ornamental cabbage borders the garden walkways , creating a bold splash of color with their blues , purples , whites &. greens. originally they were planted as a filler until other flowers could be ordered but eilwen adored the individuality they presented. so she kept them. 

camellias are known for being queens of the winter. the schnee camellias are bred for cold hardiness &. bloom in bright pinks on their evergreen shrubs. they grow along the brick walls of the manor since they enjoy shade. they were planted after the death of nicholas schnee since pink camellias mean ‘ a longing for someone. ‘

this flower can grow in freezing temperatures &. is hardy. it has a unique structure of five petals facing upward. it can symbolize ‘ happiness’ but can also represent ‘ death ‘ &. ‘ all good things come to an end ‘ because they are also a poisonous bloom. the double meaning can represent the false happiness of eilwen’s &. jacque’s marriage.

* faunus verse : in all my multiple iterations across my many blogs , i have had one idea for weiss’ faunus verse &. it is that she is a butterfly faunus. because butterfly symbolism has a lot to do with this blog in general. she does not have wings in any time period of this verse except for early childhood. due to her wings being forcible ripped off at a younger age , the wings regrew but they were deformed. they were removed a second time , this time with her consent ( although under high pressure ) , &. thankfully , under anesthesia due to the pain. she has scars due to surgery. they are right under her shoulder blades. 

most of her dresses cover the scars so there is no concern for them showing. she is extremely sensitive about them showing so she wears a bolero or sweater whenever she can. her dress during the dance had a flesh colored fabric on the backside beneath the black sheer so she could freely move about without a covering. 

her father hated her for what she was &. saw her as less than perfect because of her faunus roots. he blamed the schnee lineage for making her this way since neither eilwen or jacques had any faunus blood in them ... at least that they knew of. it ironically is from jacques great great grandfather who was a beetle faunus but his faunus trait was shiny black hair that was reminiscent of a ground beetle’s shell. it gave his hair a harder texture than most , but it overall went unnoticed for much of his life.
