   guess it’s emo hours bc i have a sad hc for kyle. i don’t think it’s really hit him that while he dates men, he’s never going to end up with one. in the back of his mind he knows that some day he’ll get married to a woman & have biological kids to continue on the family name. i’m not sure his parents would forgive him for ending the bloodline. they went through a lot & struggled a lot to be able to have him in the first place because it was so important to them. the fact that it’s him alone to keep the line going is a stress he’s going to continue to avoid thinking about for as long as possible

o12. if he could see the way i write him, would he agree with my portrayal?

this is a good question, uh. i think the overall answer is yes? he’d probably critique my writing quality a fair bit but when it comes to him i think he’d find it flattering. he might add that i play him a little too frivolously too tho. i haven’t gotten into his character super deep in a while & he’d think that my perception of him might change if i got to know him a little better & honestly i agree. kinda slacking with him ngl & he would absolutely call me out on it

o17. what is his least favourite part of his job or his everyday life?

he doesn’t dislike his job in general. it’s interesting & keeps him busy. he likes that he gets to choose with projects to move forward with & gets a lot of freedom in regards to making final decisions. he feels trusted in the company & likes that people give him the amount of responsibility that he gets. that being said, it still isn’t what he wants to do. every day he has to go to work knowing that it’s time he could be spending on improving his craft or finishing his novel & it’s that single aspect he finds frustrating

  so a while back on my old blog ( when i had a lot less muses ), i had a post talking about everyone’s favourite muffins & for no reason at all i have decided to make an updated version with the updated muse list !

apollo — those everything morning breakfast muffins ig? he’s not a big bakery items person archie — he’s a double chocolate kinda guy. he’d take triple chocolate if he could asher — strawberry orange or any kind of chocolate chip chris — he doesn’t like to get the same things over & over again but a blueberry muffin is hard to mess up dante — he’d probably go for strawberry if it’s there eiji — sugar donut muffins. it’s barely a muffin but has muffin in the name so he’ll die on that hill eragon  —  it’s a tie between banana & carrot. every time he’s face with the decision of which one, he caves & gets both bc he can’t handle food choosing related pressures. he eats a ton anyway so nothing goes to waste hades — he’s not much of a pastry person, but he enjoys chocolate from time to time so i feel like anything chocolate would be good as long as it’s not overwhelmingly so hyunshik  — he doesn’t like things that are too sweet & prefers more subtle flavours. maybe like a banana muffin? isaac  —  blueberry for sure! he’s happy with most fruity muffins but blueberry is his top choice jamie  —  he’s not a huge muffin fan. don’t get me wrong, he likes em, but he doesn’t care too much about what flavour it is as long as it tastes good. he probably eats applesauce the most just because it’s one of hannah’s favourites kaede  —  being a vampire kaede isn’t big on human food, in an au where she’s still human, i’d wager to say it’s something like apple cinnamon kitae  — also apple cinnamon. it’s a flavour combination he loves in any form kyle  — he loves pumpkin anything, muffins included minkyung  — he likes obscure flavours, he thinks they’re fun. so it’s not something he sees a lot but he likes ginger & pear muffins a lot peter —  honey muffins! ( soft n sweet just like him ). he bakes a lot & thus has made many a muffin but honey is his fav bc it’s so simple yet delicious so they’re really easy to whip up phaelyn — another fan of fruity muffins, but actually likes lemon muffins the most. she finds them really refreshing ryan  — carrot, no question about it sam  — his mother’s favourite is banana chip & he’s not much of a baker himself so that’s what he grew up having. it’s kind of like a default favourite i guess? sebastian  —  zucchini chocolate chip. it was his mother’s go-to muffin n tastes like home. shin  —  another fan of chocolate chip. he likes to think he has a sophisticated pallet but leans a lot towards simpler flavours   soren — he’ll eat anything tbh. hasn’t tried a single food he hasn’t liked so he can’t pick a favourite anything tu’er shen  — he likes tea cake muffins, of any kind really but is partial to black tea vanilla tyrus  —  coffee cake muffins but those are a specialty thing so his next choice is banana nut

oo8. what’s a secret he’s only ever shared with one person? who was that one person?

not sure if there’s a singular answer for this one. dongyeon & soojung are his best friends & while there may be... certain topics ahem that aren’t suitable for soojung’s ears, all the main stuff are things he tells them both. they’re his ride or dies so they know all his dark secrets & his wants & desires.

but i’m also not sure if he has true “secrets” to begin with. it’s just a matter of who’s privy to what. for example, there’s a lot of people who don’t know about his sexuality but if he’s comfortable with someone then he has no problem sharing it. his dick piercing is also a sort of secret, but that’s something that’s mostly just his sexual partners that know that one. business/company secrets are also on a need to know basis. the list goes on.

he’s got a lot of secrets on a technical level but also doesn’t really have any at all at the end of the day

i don’t think he has a singular favourite joke but he likes clever humour best. things that are witty & rely less on physical humour. maybe it’s the writer in him but he likes the kind of jokes that make you work to understand the punchline rather than it being something blaringly obvious

o16. what is his most strongly held belief or opinion? does it shape his behaviour? how?

that everyone is deserving of equal opportunity & equal respect. his mother, younghee, did a lot of things, but was most notably known for her charity work. their family sponsored a lot of benefits & fundraisers & MH Group is well known for the business they conduct as well as the massive donations they’ve been making every year since they’ve been in the green. younghee worked very hard to remind kyle that while he was born into a life of privileged, he’s not “better” than people who aren’t as fortunate. as long as you treat him with respect, he’ll show you the same & that absolutely shapes his behaviour. however it also means that the moment you’re disrespectful, then his kindness & generosity disappears. it’s actually caused quite a few issues for him & his family in the past. one of the things that frustrates him about social culture in korea is that if you’re older or a person of seniority/authority then you can behave however you like without consequence. kyle on the other hand will hold people accountable & uses his connections to do it. he cannot & will not stand abuse of power. as far as he’s concerned they’re the scum of the earth & has forced his father/the company out of deals bc he refuses to let them be associated with what he considers to be “bad” people ( granted his definition of bad isn’t necessarily the legal understanding but that’s neither here nor there )

i realised i never really posted anything about kyle’s company & his role in that so here we go ! 

MH Group was originally founded by kyle’s grandfather, hak myungho, who currently works as the chairman. but it was kyle’s father, hak daeseong, taking up the job of ceo that truly helped the company boom. out of daeseong’s 5 siblings, he had the best business sense as well as the ambition so from a young age it was clear he was meant to be the successor. & of course his help growing the company only served to reinforce the idea.

these days MH Group’s market capitalisation is more than $500 trillion, & it has over 90,000 employees. its among the five largest family-run conglomerates in the nation  & is a multinational conglomerate corporation that has a combined 64 affiliates & subsidiaries thus far but they’re still working to expand. & in that huge corporation, kyle is leading one of the major affiliates: MH Group’s Lifestyle.

unfortunately for kyle, he seemed to have inherited his father’s skills & then some. he was an expert at anything handed to him really. he succeeded in every job & task set for him because despite his not wanting go into business, at the end of the day he knew he was his father’s only heir & he didn’t want to disappoint him. he’d been raised with the understanding that one day the conglomerate would be his ( tho one day i’ll get into his feelings towards it all in a bit more detail ).

but despite that expectation, kyle didn’t exactly parachute in? sure his family name got him an opportunity & the education needed but his father thought it would be beneficial for kyle to work his way up in the company more naturally. there was some early discomfort from both kyle & his supervisors but eventually it settled when it was clear kyle was good at what he did & was plenty friendly with his peers to break down some of those social barriers. so when kyle made the eventual jump to the head of Lifestyle, there were very few people who even wanted to say anything. again there was some adjustment needed & some of the older employees were disgruntled by having such a young man become so high up the chain of command but once more, kyle simply doing the job shut them up before long.
