The pharaoh is not often corrected in the usage of foreign materials and utensils. Leniency yields for the exhibits willing to try. Over time, he will adapt to new utensils, as he does with foreign languages and cultures.

what  do  they  do  when  they  can’t  sleep     /    Sleep is unnecessary for exhibits found in the museum, for that, it's easiest to describe what it's like when exhibits do sleep. While uncommon for Ahkmenrah to experience fatigue, he is still human. If it is imperative that he ‘rest’ prior to sunrise, he will opt to rest at the furthest corner of his exhibit closely guarded by Anubis.

what  would  they  impulse  buy  at  the  grocery  store     /    With quarters in hand, Ahkmenrah redefines the nature of an impulse buy. He is inherently drawn to what is blue or silver in color. Vibrancy attracts, and his fixation to modern ‘relics’ rivals that of a child. When outside, there is always something to be experienced for the first time. 

what  order  do  they  wash  things  in  the  shower     /    Ahkmenrah is not at all familiar with showers. In life, the pharaoh was far more accustomed to wash basins.   Ahkmenrah’s life ends each sunrise and he is restored each sunset. Showers are no longer a necessity for the exhibits. If there is a need to clean himself after spending hours outside of his ‘kingdom’, Ahkmenrah will fetch a damp trifold towel and wipe himself down. 

what’s  their  coffee  order     /  There is no greater joy in asking for ‘everything’! He can’t afford it. All the same, coffee isn’t particularly enjoyed, but he will drink it- depending on how enthusiastic someone is when showing him the beverage

what  sort  of  apps  would  they  have  on  their  smartphone     /    Following a lesson of how to operate the modern device, Ahkmenrah has downloaded every app available. He doesn’t know how to operate any of them, but they are aesthetically pleasing.

how  do  they  act  around  children     /   it was never asked of him to tend to children, and his disposition is unchanging when in the company of adults or children. He treats them as he would any subject of his kingdom. (this can be a good or bad thing, depending on the subjects in question.) He’s prone to discussing complicated terms or reflecting on something morbid.

Been thinking many thoughts, unsurprisingly, about Remedyverse Miles lately. And in some kinda fucked up way putting him in lockdown for six years and effectively removing him from the timeline nets the best outcomes. Lynn buries Murkoff and Miles isn't there to get in her or anyone else's way. Because while he is an efficient anti-Murkoff weapon he is also a big fat stupid target for them. More of a liability than he's worth. It's doubly sad in that this also solidifies the theme that started at Mount Massive -- Miles is just not meant to be the person to break the story and tear Murkoff down, as much as he wants so badly to do so. His whole entire purpose in the context of Murkoff and also just. The purpose of his life. Is simply to host the Walrider. And once his part's been played, the best thing he can do for everyone else's sake is stay out of the action completely.

But in the context of the au it ends up being one of the better post-canon things to happen to Miles, too. Six years of relative isolation and uninterrupted Walrider Time makes him more accepting of his situation and his relationship with the Swarm. And arguably that's a horror all its own but... he's so much less conflicted about everything. Still angry, yeah, just about other things -- but they're things he can actively try to fix and prevent with his shiny new FBC job. Legitimately working to make improvements in a messed up but ultimately well intentioned system is a much healthier outlet than the life on the run revenge tour he's running in the regular post-canon verse. Personal and professional fulfillment? A greater sense of self acceptance and being at peace with his fate? For my Miles Upshur? It's more likely than you think.

It's not perfect. He's more socially / emotionally stunted after all that containment time. Sometimes he hates himself for having a government job under the very Bureau that caged him like less than an animal. And also for having to wear a tie to work. But it's generally outweighed by the sense of purpose and belonging he feels in this weird little corner of the world.

Ocarina of Time Zelda - Favorite Flower

Teeny tiny headcanon - Ocarina of Time Zelda’s favorite flower is a tulip. The more I lookup artwork for OoT Zelda, the more I randomly stumble upon pieces that show her with tulips. There are occasionally other flowers, but tulips are the most prominent, which is what inspired this headcanon. 

Tulips are seen in the Castle Courtyard when Link first meets Zelda while she is peering through the window into the castle. Seeing them so often (at least while she was growing up) would likely lead to her becoming fond of the flower, and I imagine she would have more re-planted once she returns to Hyrule Castle after Ganondorf is defeated. 

To add a bit more sentiment to the flowers (besides the fact that every flower has meaning, which is something Zelda has studied in depth), I like to imagine that Zelda’s mother also loved tulips, and she was the one that first requested they be planted around the courtyard/in the gardens. Zelda learned this, likely from the gardeners and/or Impa, so tulips also allow her to feel more connected to the mother she never had a chance to know.

But tbh, I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. I feel like he might be too focused on Alexandra to interact with other muses. Ocarina of Time Zelda - Scars

Zelda’s seven years waiting for Link to awaken from the Sacred Realm did not come without trials. Since Zelda took up the guise of Sheik, a Sheikah, I strongly believe she spent those seven years with Impa training as if she were an actual Sheikah. She stretched, she built up muscle, she better immersed herself into the language, and she learned how to wield weapons commonly used by the Sheikah. 

If she was going to present herself to Link as a Sheikah to guide him in his journey, she needed it to be believable. And she needed to keep Ganondorf’s suspicions low, should she ever find herself crossing paths with him or his minions. 

Knowing where she would have to guide Link and what she would have to do, she’d made it a plan to personally travel to each of the Temples before he awoke, wanting to ensure there were no obstacles in her plan once Hyrule’s Hero was finally awake. 

Her plan was to start with the Forest Temple since that was the first temple Link was to visit, but navigating the temple did not come without complications. The first time she visited the Lost Woods, she didn’t make it to the Sacred Forest Meadow before succumbing to an injury — in the midst of fighting off a Deku Baba, she hadn’t noticed the second one until its teeth clamped down on her leg. She was still fairly young (only fifteen at the time), and her struggle during her panic caused more damage. She was left with several larger scars in various spots from her thighs to her shins.

The second time she attempted to visit the Forest Temple, she did make it to the Sacred Forest Meadow! She’d managed to fend off the Moblins and the Club Moblin, and she did eventually defeat the Wolfos that guarded the Forest Temple entrance as well, but not before it got two swipes in across her back, below her right shoulder. The Wolfos attack was worse than the Deku Baba’s — the wounds deeper — making the scars along her back much more prominent. 

Visiting the Forest Temple the third time was the charm; she’d better learned to handle the creatures that now roamed Hyrule, and she’d become much more conscious about bringing healing potions with her that would either minimize scarring or eliminate it altogether due to taking the potions immediately. 

She does have various other scars across her arms and hands, but those are much much smaller. Most occurred during her younger years when she was first learning to use weapons, but there are a handful that were caused by creatures that got one over on her during her travels to the other four temples but were minimized by potions and magic. Luckily, most of her scars can be covered by her dress or her gloves, and the ones that aren’t covered by her every day attire are so small that people never really seem to notice them.

Now it should be noted that these scars would only appear on Adult Timeline Zelda. Child Timeline Zelda would not bore any of these scars, as those events would not have happened to her once the timeline was reset (though she may have a couple smaller ones in that timeline from various childish antics, those, of course, are not severe). 

It should also be noted that I do love interacting with Sheik blogs that write Sheik as a separate person from Zelda. In these instances, there may be some variance in her scars depending on how much Zelda was actually allowed to be involved during Link’s journey. Of course, this can be discussed/addressed with my rp partners, but this gives everyone a general idea of what scars they might see on Adult Timeline Zelda and why.

Since I have decided to incorporate Carmila being a Fallen Angel into my lore/backstroy for her, here are some key things that are still relevant or different to my portrayal

She was still born into and ran her mafia family that built and smuggled weapons.

She was still Odette and Clara's ballet instructor in life, but what will change is that she sacrificed her own life to save them out of love and that's what got her a ticket into Heaven

After arriving in Heaven, she was a prominent figure in helping to design the weapons the Exorcists use now.

She was honestly biding her time until she could see her daughters again once they eventually passed and they could be a family again.

That changed when she found out that her daughters actually died shortly after she did and they were in Hell and therefore could be killed during the Exterminations.

That was the catalyst to her discovering how truly corrupted Heaven was and what led her to choosing to Fall

After ending up in Hell, she used her knowledge of Heaven's weaponry to build her weapons empire.

First off, thank you so much for sending me this! It took me a good while to find a concrete answer, but I think I finally have one for you. I hope I didn't make you wait for too long!!

Mjrn has been dealt a terrible hand with all the tragedies and losses in her life. As a Warrior of Light, she had to make sacrifices for the greater good of the world and its people. She lost so many people close to her: Minfilia, Haurchefant, Papalymo, and many of the other Scions she had grown to call friends, even family. However, the one loss that shook Mjrn to her core was when she traveled to Othard, her former homeland.

While the young Viera doesn't have many memories that she can remember, she does vividly recall hearing the Green Word and finding solace in it. When the Garlean Empire's conquest managed to reach her clan, she and her sibling, Sinde, were forced to flee and leave everything behind. Mjrn had no way of knowing whether or not they survived, but when she arrived at the Wood, it became clear.

Leaving meant that she could no longer hear the Green Word. She found no comfort in its whispers; silence was her answer. There was also no trace of her clan; it was almost as if they never existed in the first place. The realization nearly broke her, and then guilt flooded her senses. To make matters worse, she had failed to keep her beloved sister alive.

Mjrn was unsure how to handle the grief at first. She distracted herself with her work with the Scions, perfecting her ability with the bow, anything to keep from losing herself. However, in recent days, shortly after preventing the Final Days, she finally allowed herself a moment to mourn, grieve, and shed tears. To this day, she refuses to let herself dwell on her losses, and instead, she keeps her lost loved ones in her heart and considers herself blessed to have found a family in the remaining Scions whom she has grown to love and care for deeply.

Name meaning. Miles -- Latin, soldier. Luis -- Spanish, famous warrior or renowned fighter. Upshur -- English, literally just means 'from the upper shire', but the fun fact significance is that Upshur was the middle name of the famous American journalist Bob Woodward. Ramírez -- Spanish, wise / renowned ruler / counselor

Alias.( ses ). Fun Mount Massive nicknames: the Host, the Apostle, the Witness, Little Pig, buddy, etc. As far as actual aliases, he's used various combinations of his four names on fake IDs before -- i.e. Luis Upshur, Miles Ramírez, etc.

2. Probably what I consider to be the definitive Oscar-as-Miles photo, one of the things I saw and was instantly assured of my FC choice. It might sound stupid but Oscar is such an irrevocable part of Miles to me. I can't see him any other way, and having such a strong visual representation of him has always been a huge help in making him feel real for all these years:

three headcanons you never told anyone. Disclaimer that I have probably mentioned all of this at some point but it's been seven years of writing this guy and I fear I'm out of completely new material lol

He's never been much of an exercise buff but Miles used to be into running. He had a set circuit when he lived in DC and tried to keep a consistent schedule even when traveling for work. Never got to marathon level but did a lot of 5 and 10Ks, even a half marathon here and there. But it's not something he does anymore largely because there's... really no point. One of the benefits of being possessed and also kinda dead is you don't need to workout! Yaaaaay! Unfortunately without the endorphins and the satisfaction of exertion, running has lost its luster.

Prior to Mount Massive, Miles had a long-term boyfriend from college until they were in their late 20s. The last couple years of it were a tumultuous on-and-off-again relationship that started to deteriorate after he lost his staff reporter job and had to travel more. Prop 8 meant that same sex marriage was off the table, but they talked about engagement and building a serious life together. If Miles hadn't lost his job he probably would've proposed. But, then, if he hadn't lost his job a lot of things would've been different.

Miles is genuinely obsessed with roadside tourist traps -- giant balls of twine and other objects, weird architecture, fake alien sites, that sort of thing. The kitschier the better. If you're roadtripping with him and he spots a funky sign, he's pulling over.

three things your character likes to do in their free time.

Listen to music -- he's almost always got tunes on in the background but will sit down and really get absorbed in an album when he can.

Read -- mostly current events articles, sometimes a good nonfiction book.

Drive -- loves driving around the middle of nowhere to clear his head, even though it's not quite the same without the Jeep (rip).

three people your character loves.

Not technically a person, but the Walrider. Judge him if you want, but after a decade he's accepted that they're fucked up soulmates that were always meant to be <3. It's been a slowburn enemies to lovers journey, but over time he's adapted and stopped hating it for things that weren't really its fault. He's gone from denial to acceptance to tolerance to feeling genuine affection for the Swarm. Maybe it's too complicated to really define as love, but he can't think of a better word.

People with conviction. People who stand up for themselves and the things they believe in. People who are thoughtful and who care about something bigger than themselves.

two things your character regrets.

Not being a better son and brother before everything went to shit. His life choices and the prideful stubbornness with which he committed to them drove a wedge between himself and his parents, which trickled down into a strained relationship with his sisters. In hindsight, they were just worried about him and only wanted what was best for him -- but he was too absorbed with his career and trying to piece it back together to see that. He regrets arguing with them so much. He regrets not making the most of the time he had when he didn't know it was running out.

Somewhat verse specific, but he very deeply regrets what happened with @mslangermann's husband Blake after Temple Gate. Murkoff picked him out of the wreckage and brought him to another facility -- Miles found him while trying to dig up whatever he could about the cult. Blake was completely catatonic, and probing around in his mind revealed that there was nothing left of him mentally, either. Rather than leave him to suffer in Murkoff's hands, Miles elected to put him out of his misery. And still hasn't told Lynn. He doesn't regret doing it -- truly, there were no options that would have saved Blake -- but he regrets not being honest with her. He also blames himself a bit for not finding him sooner and possibly preventing tragedy.
