How do you feel about the Zora Armor?

how do you feel about ___?

The care and thought that was put into the armor was more than he felt he deserved, but knowing the intent behind the armor to begin with brought a red flush to his face. He shifts his gaze, hands reflexively move up as if to cover his face, “I-I…” He gulps down what he can of the embarrassment that follows with it.

“It’s good armor.” He lowers one hand, places it in the crook of his arm that’s still held upright to cover parts of his face, “It’s intended use is to protect the one you love… right?” Sort of like a marriage proposal. He wonders if accepting it from Mipha herself would have been like accepting the proposal, but oddly enough, he’s fine with that.

“I’ve used it frequently, so…” Closing an eye, he looks up above him, still avoiding eye contact; there’s only so much he can say about the item itself, given that he does appreciate it and how well it fits him, “It’s protected me pretty well.”

Not that he’d be ready to talk about it with her. Whenever the day comes that he brings it up, if he ever does, it’s far off from now. “I wonder if she knows… that I’ve used it.”

hug prompts | 8. the hug that comes after a bad dream.

The younger one comes around and leaves as he pleases, from what Link has noticed — from which, he’s noticed a couple things: he never sleeps around him ( even when he’s yawning, especially when he refuses, ) there’s some instances where he seems to be lost in his thoughts if ever for a moment before he looks at him again, little things, small things.

This time, he seems to drift off enough where he couldn’t help but sleep. Maybe because of the atmosphere Link set, from the warmth of the fire to the soft blankets he brought along with them. If he knew what was going to happen due to this, though, he would have been more careful. He sits up, legs crossed beneath him as he watches the flames flicker; for a moment, he almost misses it ( the sound of whimpers, gentle, quiet. ) He realizes it’s coming from the young Link, and he moves a little closer to him, listening to how it gets just a bit louder.

He doesn’t know if you’re supposed to wake someone from this, but he seems to quickly pull himself out of his dream state on his own, and not even the dark could keep him from realizing that the other is shaking. He knows better than to ask what he’s dreamt of, but he helps him sit up with the blankets still carefully around him, and he wraps his arms around his small frame.

“I’m here.” He mutters, tightening the hug ever so slightly, placing a hand to cradle the back of his head, how he would handle any other child who needed comforting. “You’re awake.”

Takumi has a kind of personality that's easy for Link to like, welcoming with his friendly warmth and demeanor. He's not shy to smile at him, something Link mirrors more often than he means to, but it's only natural to smile at someone smiling at you. He makes it a point to ask him to hang out with him outside of training, because he does genuinely enjoy his company, as much as he has fun with their training sessions.

If asked, he'd answer honestly: he wants to get to know him better than this.

The way cherry blossoms fall around them fills him with warmth, it's a picturesque scene of clarity. Something akin to impulsiveness overwhelms him, pushing himself closer to Takumi and wrapping his arms around him tightly then lifting him up. It elicits a laugh from the other, which makes Link laugh in return before he places him back down. Whether the other is confused or not, Link brushes off some stray blossoms that rest along Takumi's ponytail.

He doesn't have an explanation for why he acted this way, but he's certain it's because it's easy to be more himself around him. Maybe because of how often they were together, but regardless of what the reason is, he's thankful. Placing his hands against his own hips, he leans back and forth on his heels, bouncing, before he glances back over at him.

1. how does your character think of their father? what do they hate and love about him? what influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?

link looks up to his father, he’s probably the person that influenced him the most on the path he chose: that of the knights. links family consists of them, but i always figured that at some point his dad encouraged him to do what he wanted to, which just so happened to be what he did. links natural aptitude for wielding weaponry has been around since he could ever hold them, and i feel like his father held some kind of pride in his son being able to best his peers at such a young age, and he would praise him. link loves basically everything about his father, from the way he holds himself as a knight to his own moral grounds, link follows it in his own way. the thing he hates most about him is the thing he also loves most about him: that he laid his life down for hyrule. hylians don’t live as long compared to the zora or even the sheikah ( robbie, purah and impa are all over 120 years old, for instance, ) so even if his father had survived, it’s unlikely link would ever get to see him again in the present.

2.their mother? how do they think of her? what do they hate? love? what influence - literal or imagined - did the mother have?

he has a kind of fondness for his mother that both comes from her being more affectionate than his father was to having a kind of appreciation for her for taking care of him, for raising him the way that she did. he’s proud of both of his parents and the roles they chose, but he doesn’t remember her as well as he remembers his father. that being said, his family itself doesn’t consist of nobility, so theyre all in the countryside. if he could remember more about her, it would be when he was wedged between his mother and father in their bed when he was younger, him being a child with an abundance of energy that would jump on them to wake them up. of course, they’d wake up with smiles on their faces, not scolding him for this. when i think of his mother i picture a woman who’s smile could light flames in the hearts of others, naturally charismatic and charming. someone who also, believe it or not, dabbled in training regimes, although not as a knight like his father. his mother shaped his personality when he was a child, kindhearted and full of enthusiasm, and her gentleness carries with him even to this day. the thing he hates most, though… i’d say what he would say: there’s nothing he hates about her.

26.what does your character’s home look like? personal taste? clothing? hair? appearance?

pretty kept together? his own home in hateno is clean, weapons and shields hung on mounts on the wall. he has a few tables and smaller things like vases and books and other dishes as where one would expect them to be. he also has the photo of him and the other champions + the princess hung up on the second floor next to the window closest to his bed, even if this art doesnt show it. his clothes are neat and form fitting, comfortable, easy to move around in. he has a lot of different sets of clothes to fit the occasion, but more commonly he wears his champion tunic alongside the rest of the hylian set. his hair is softer than most other people, the scars he has are more notably from when he fell 100 years ago trying to protect zelda, although his recklessness from prior to that has earned him others along his arms as well. he’s noted to be rather attractive in the game, having multiple different people either comment on it while simultaneously asking him out or saying that hes their type etc etc. he takes care of his appearance, although it’s not necessarily a priority. taking baths and stuff of the like just helps relax him. also, going into the hot springs around the eldin region is his favorite place to drench himself in water.

She seems to be pretty engrossed in what she’s doing, sitting against the wall up on his bed, so focused that he’s not sure she’d even notice him when he leaves. She appears to be in her own little world, and there’s something endearing about it that leaves a skip in his chest.

There’s also something consoling about that, leaving but being reassured the other’s presence will be there once he returns. He doesn’t have to worry about her disappearing on him, following her word down to the letter, and with as much as she’s been around lately he can only ever grow more warm with it. He’s thankful for this, that she’s here with him and that he doesn’t have to worry about returning to an empty room.

When he returns this time, she seems to have fallen asleep, and when he leans over her, he checks out what it is she was doing before he left, inevitably the thing she was doing while he was gone. He takes this time to slide the Master Sword off of him, resting it delicately against the wall, sliding off his hood and placing it along the back of his chair.

It’s comforting just having her here, and he moves up carefully onto the bed with her, his eyes droop ( if only for a moment ) before he leans against her, fully closing them. It doesn’t take him very long to drift off, listening to the ambience that flutters in his room. He kind of leaves her in a difficult position of moving should she wake up before him, leaning the way that he is, and he doesn’t know the amount of time that passes in between when he fell asleep and when he wakes up. Whether he wakes up before her or not, he’ll only be able to tell when he does eventually wake up on his own.

Even so, he doesn’t feel her move away from him.

physically. he shows it more in the way of comfortable gestures, like by leaning his shoulder against their own, or something small like brushing their hair behind their ear. more intimate actions like kissing them or something of the like is... entirely reserved for the person he’s most interested in. of course, he wouldn’t try anything like that if they weren’t together first.

M   :   MOONLIGHT.   what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

at the risk of sounding cliche, his ‘ideal’ date is... anything, as long as he can spend time with the person he likes, it doesn’t matter what they’re doing together. he’s more focused on them instead of where they are, but it’d be important to him that they were enjoying themselves, above all. who with, specifically but not so specifically, it’s whoever his heart is set on.

O   :   ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?

he puts a lot of thought into his words, but what he says is entirely motivated by what he feels. he’s definitely the type to say something romantic without completely focused on the fact that it’s romantic or embarrassing, just that he has something he wants to say to them and with no restrictions, says it. 

R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

he’s definitely a romantic, but he’s not in pursuit of it. for him, falling in love with someone is something he does without really thinking about it, and he comes to the realization of it later. 

E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

he does! he’s more prone to reaching below the arms of someone, hugging around their abdomen so they’re free to wrap theirs around his neck if they’d like to. less intimate hugs, though, he generally goes for one-armed, something quick and easy to do.

he doesn’t really use them, honestly. like… sometimes, sure, but it’s pretty embarrassing to say himself? if he were to call anyone anything, it’d be in a moment where he feels 100% comfortable with them. he doesn’t really like to feel vulnerable with people, so... but! he does like when they’re used for him.

The other Champions…

There’s only so much he knows about them ( Mipha and Daruk the most of all, ) there’s only so much played back memories will allow him to know. He’d ask, of course, with those who recognized the names. Those who knew them a fair amount better than he had, following their own legends, following their own stories.

Individually, they were strong beyond compare. Skill up to match enough to pilot the Divine Beasts, hand selected by the Princess herself. Together, there’s nothing they couldn’t do. He could rely on them, he knew that much. They linger in the back of his mind, like a smell from childhood that draws up a memory too distant to place.

Individually, to start with, the chief of the Gerudo, Urbosa:

What he can say about her is easy, “Urbosa was strong. Not just in her might.” She possessed a strong heart as well. “She cared about Zelda, much like a mother would.” He appreciated her sharing information about Zelda to begin with, something he saw brought them closer together. And learning about what she had lost hit close to home with him, losing people you care for suddenly. While she attended the queen’s funeral, however, Link couldn’t have been there for whatever funerals that may have been held for the Champions. It’s a little difficult to breathe, if he thinks about it too hard.

The Rito Legend, Revali:

Revali seemed to provoke Link whenever he had the opportunity to, but it’s only through reading his journal that he really found out just how Revali felt about him. It must have been difficult, knowing a version of him who never showed his emotions, and he’s a little ( thankful ? ) to have grown from that. Even if his loss of memories were responsible for this change. “Revali had the skill to back up his confidence.” Of course, what could one expect from a Champion? There was a reason he was recognized. “Even if he wasn’t fond of me,” Link was fond of him. He thought he was funny, in a way. Currently, at least, from everything he’d seen.

Comrade and fellow warrior, ( fellow glutton, ) Daruk:

They were friends. Genuine, bonded over their love of food and their might. Daruk would make him food sometimes, all of which he’d enjoy even if the base of it was always rocks. He would always eat them. Noted as the only Hylian who would. “Daruk was… cool.” He starts off, placing his fingers against the nape of his neck while his eyes shift downwards, to the side as he speaks, “He always smiled at me.” When he was met with scornful eyes from a few people he was in close arms with, it was a welcome change. “When he needed help with the Divine Beast… I gave him the push he’d needed.” The same kind of push he gives himself. “I believe in him.” A pause. “Believed in him.”

and his cherished friend, Mipha:

He was fortunate enough to find her again, alive, with a regained vitality. It gives him a hope that the other Champions may be spared as well. “I care about her.” From the way she looks out for him and her people, to the way she took his words to heart and sticks within vicinity of him ( for a fair chunk of her time, and he wonders if he’s really deserving of it. ) “She always cheered me on… even when she wasn’t expressing it.” Especially then. “Having her here… makes me really happy.” Even if things are different, “Her presence makes being here more bearable.”

what are your feelings regarding king rhoam?

how do you feel about ___?

He’s not sure how to answer at first, not exactly, so he takes a moment to mull over the question. His memories regarding him were in full ( he thinks, as vague as they were now ) and the ones he regained only offered so much. He was a man in a difficult position, with the threat of Calamity Ganon on the horizon and the lack of the means to aid his daughter with her power. Even so…“He could have… handled everything better,” that could be said for Link, too, “Zelda needed more support,” when he thinks of it in her feelings… “than what he gave.”

He doesn’t know how it is to be a father, how it is to want to protect both your daughter and Hyrule. He knows how it is to want to protect, but not in the same way. Link supported Zelda unconditionally, in his own way, but with how hard he was on her, he’s not sure if there was a better way to handle it. If Ganon wasn’t a looming threat, though, he wouldn’t have been so hard on her. He would have let her take her time.

It seemed that Ganon took more from them than their lives.

“The Princess needed more.”

"How do you feel about... the stables across Hyrule! Ehehe." She covers her laugh, curious about his many adventures across the realm. (I couldn't send The One. Forgive me.)

how do you feel about ___?

He smiles, softly, like the very action itself isn’t something he thinks of; just does. Truthfully, honestly, “They’re comforting.” Wayward points throughout Hyrule, always commonly along the roadside somewhere. He’s visited many of them, but he’s not sure if he’s visited them all. Not that he has the chance to, being here.

“I like… the people there, the animals, the stables,” his smile lowers slightly, mournfully, “The beds… in some of them, up on the walls… there’s recipes.” One glance over. “I like those, too.“ Earnestly,  “I… miss them.” What he’d have to give up to go back to them, though, isn’t worth it. As much as he loved the people there, it’s the people here that makes him hesitant to return. Person, here. 

Now, though, he’s a little embarrassed having admit all of that, so he rubs the back of his neck shyly as his smile turns to more of a nervous one. “I wonder if,” this might sound stupid, he thinks, “there are any here.”

The question is so very much like a kid to ask, and the purity of it brings a smile to his face. Exaggeration seemed to be important to kids, so: “How do I feel… about climbing trees…” He taps his chin thoughtfully, before he slowly begins to stretch his arms out beside him. “I like it! This—” then fully stretching his arms out as far as they will go, “much.”

When he lowers his arms, the smile is still on his face, but he figures it wouldn’t harm anything to continue from this, to expand on his thoughts a little further, “It’s fun… to see how high you can go.” A nod. There’s no point to lie, and he’s never made a habit of it, teasing, sure, but never lying. He has a respect for children, and it almost feels like talking to a younger version of, well, himself. Before things changed. Before his change.

“To see everything… once you’re at the top.” It’s invigorating. He folds his arms, flashes a brief grin before he points a thumb to a tree nearby, “Wanna climb with me?”

25. what are their hobbies and interests?

cooking is a big one! both on the hobbies aspect and interest aspect. he also trains a lot, keeping himself in the best condition he can, and he enjoys taking pictures of things ( documenting how hyrule is now partly for himself and partly for the princess. ) the adventure log is actually his own written account of things, so he also writes in that fairly often.

27.how do they relate to their appearance? how do they wear their clothing? style? quality?

link generally wears form-fitting clothes of relatively good quality, although he doesn’t care that much about how items look. he mostly goes for functionality over anything else. the clothes he more commonly wears are: hylian hood+hylian trousers+the champions tunic, the climbing gear, the sheikah clothes, the gerudo outfit, and when he’s traversing into a particularly stormy area, the rubber gear. he changes into the clothes he needs, primarily.

4. what type of discipline was your character subjected to at home? strict? lenient?

kind of both? but not in the traditional sense of being strict. link generally took tips on his training from how he saw knights train, from a young age being able to best adults at swordplay. i feel like link was more strict with himself than his parents were, and while they supported him in these endeavors there was the threat of calamity ganon’s revival, so they couldn’t really tell him to take it easy on himself either. his father might have been more strict than his mother was, being a knight himself, but there’s nothing in canon to hint how his parents treated him. once he proved himself to be the chosen hero / pulled the master sword from where he drew it, they probably grew stricter with him, knowing how vital his role was alongside the princess.

6. did they feel rejection or affection as a child?

affection! i imagine that they were very loving parents, despite his demeanor changing. in fact, he doesn’t appear to be one to mess up very often, taking his duty extremely seriously to the point the way he expressed himself completely changed from the happy kid he was as a child. his parents probably spent a lot of time with him, at home with his mother and with the other knights with his dad. his talent alone has earned him a lot of praise.

32. how does your character react to stress situations? defensively? aggressively? evasively?

inwardly; link doesn’t express when he’s upset, or stressed, or angry, or any of that. he takes the stress in and handles it with a cool head, but he most definitely internalizes it. he canonically has anxiety and communication issues that keep him from properly being able to express himself, coupled with the feeling that he shouldn’t express himself. that he should be the way a knight would be. i imagine a lot of his philosophies rely entirely on “how would a knight react?” to blow of steam, though, he goes to his regular training routine.

35. do they always rationalize errors? how do they accept disasters and failures?

as i mentioned in 32, he internalizes them. when it comes to calamity ganon’s revival, he’s shown to be one to keep a clear head throughout it, taking his position as zelda’s personal knight attendant extremely seriously and the role he plays with her. he knows without her they can’t defeat him / seal him off, so he literally protects the princess with his life while they fled the onslaught of guardians. with personal failures, it depends on the kind. in the instances of should he ever slip up with something, he tries harder. trains harder. because in hyrule, if he messes up, it’s not just his life on the line. he needs to be in top condition to ensure he doesn’t lose his or cause anyone to lose their own lives. 

one of his biggest failures was with the champions and protecting the kingdom 100 years ago. at least, in his eyes. he carries a lot of survivor’s guilt in regards to them as he regains his memories, even if he did all he could at protecting the kingdom and zelda, and that there’s no possible way he could have protected the other champions, there’s still that lingering feeling once everything is all said and done. when it comes to protecting the kingdom a second time, he doesn’t fail. 

50. what are the prevailing facial expressions? sour? cheerful? dominating?

neutral! he doesn’t generally express himself emotionally, but he is more expressive in the present than he was 100 years ago. in the past, he was the key vision of a stoic, cool knight. never showing how he felt, never expressing how he felt, with a seemingly endless reign of accomplishments under his belt. no one knew how he felt, which often meant them painting their own narrative on his feelings ( like when zelda thought he hated her. ) in the present, he’s more likely to smile at people, to say what he feels even if it’s in a short sentence. he expresses displeasure about as easily as he expresses happiness. while he doesn’t bear full on grins ( depending on the situation, ) he absolutely shows how he’s feeling more often than he used to, partly because no one really knows who he is in the present so the burden is lessened and partly because he can distance himself from his memories; it was like watching them on playback on a tape recorder.

MORALITY: lawful / neutral / chaotic / good / neutral / evil RELIGIOUS BELIEF: standard belief in the goddess hylia, as well as the three goddesses who shaped the world. VICES: envy / greed / lust / gluttony / sloth / pride / wrath / despair VIRTUES: chastity / humility / charity / diligence / kindness / patience / temperance PRIMARY GOALS IN LIFE: protecting the princess, helping her restore hyrule. SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: he’s honestly pretty covered in scars along his arms and abdomen, as well as his legs. while most of them are from 100 years ago, he has a couple fresh ones after running around hyrule on waking up. ABILITIES/POWERS: technically most of what link can do that isn’t his own physical ability is from the sheikah slate, which allows him to: magnesis ( able to lift and move freely metallic objects, ) cryonis ( on the surface of water, creates pillars of ice which can be used as stepping stones, ) bombs ( circle and square remote detonate bombs, ) stasis ( stops the flow of energy in an object and stores the kinetic energy of said object, ) camera ( takes pics :). ) there’s also the champion abilities he received back in hyrule. RESTRICTIONS: none, apart from verbal and the restrictions placed on him in the city.

He was interested in the bird, frankly, different from other birds he's seen. With the way its wings flutter, he's more curious than anything else.

Up until the point when it explodes, and he attempts to wipe away the excess paint from his face. Hearing the laughter pretty much confirms it was a prank — but, he's not mad. Not that he could find the person responsible to begin with.

"How am I..." going to get this out of his clothes. What gets out paint?
