aether hums softly as he hears the other's words. perhaps it could have been suspicion at first, ensuring that the other was being kept out of trouble, but really it was something different than that.

"you've been through another hard situation... i'm sure things are better now, but that was a lot for you to go through initially. i guess, i wanted to see how you were doing after all that?" the traveler shrugs a shoulder and then sends the other a tentative smile. "i guess i'm just checking up on you."

the traveler laughs as he hefts venti up a bit more to jostle the bard just because he can. "you definitely do not feel like a sack of potatoes," he says in response as he carries venti out of the angel's share, waving to the bartend as he slides out of the wooden door and into the fresh mondstadt air. "i made a promise to master diluc that i would keep an eye on you tonight and make sure you didn't drink too much."

diluc had tried to make it seem like he didn't want venti drinking them out of house and home (tavern?) but he also knew that the redhaired man was also keeping an eye out for venti's wellbeing. despite knowing the other was an archon. "i'm just doing as our good master diluc requested."

❝ you’re so cute when you blush. ❞ aether is cute all the time, obviously, but there's a certain giddy warmth that seems to fill childe's stomach when he says or does something that has aether's cheeks tinge a soft pink, cheeks puffing out in mild embarrassment.

aether sometimes hates how easily the ginger makes him blush. childe can be so sweet and caring when he wants to-- which, if aether is being honest, is most of the time. he's a doting and loving boyfriend and lover. it sometimes makes aether long for those days before when he could easily put the harbinger in his place. but since they started seeing each other, it does make it a little harder. "don't get used to it," the blond lamely replies. they both know that it's bound to happen again.

"ah! well, i suppose you would also know all about that," he says, remembering the other's job. he was good at it, too, from what the blond could recall. he lets out a soft hum and tilts his head to the side, "too many people try to take advantage when they think you don't know anything at all. it's something i've also had to learn whilst traveling." he was grateful that his reputation these days seemed to precede him, but he also remembers those early days, too.

aether lets out a small laugh, "i'm still learning on how to be better bluffing myself. maybe you could teach me pointers some time?"

aether lets out a soft laugh as he feels familiar lips press against his knuckles, his expression softening even as the weight of everything he's been through seems slide off his shoulders. "just this," he murmurs quietly in response, "some time together with you and maybe a date?" he poses the last bit as a question, honey hues watching chongyun's face with affection.

it's true that he's been through much in the past few months-- hell, even years. things seem to happen around him that he can't quite always get a grasp on. he vaguely wonders if it's because the people here know he's not of this world. either way, it's a thought for another time, instead he leans heavily against chongyun's side, gently squeezing their connected hands. "some food sounds like a good idea."

lyney lets out an agreeing laugh, coming to stand by her side as he looks out as well. fontaine is truly beautiful and he can't help but feel lucky that he is not only from here, but also be so ingrained in their nation's capitol city. he lets out a soft sigh and tilts his head, "there's no other place in teyvat like here," he agrees, before letting out a sheepish chuckle.

"no, i apologize, i merely saw you standing here by yourself and wondered if you needed help by any chance. are you new to the nation of fontaine?" lyney always made it a habit to introduce himself to unfamiliar faces. not only because it had helped father and the house of the hearth more than once, but also because he enjoyed speaking to new people.
