what started off as a simple favor became one of the most important part of his life. yohan knew ⏤ the moment he met piper that he was going to be the one that she was going to spend the rest of his life with. thinking back, it was such an awkward, yet heart-warming experience to be looking after his best friend's sister as if his life depended on it… quite literally.

yohan didn't mind, they got to know each other a little better and even became close friends, closer than he would've imagined. the sleepless nights where he would stay up with her because she had a nightmare and they would talk about literally everything and anything, then she'd fall asleep on top of him and the days where he would hold her in his arms because her head was hurting and she needed to calm down.

he wasn't against the idea of being in a relationship with piper, in fact ⏤ he welcomed it, even if it took a while for them to tell santi. and that's definitely a story for another day, maybe it will be part of his wedding day speech just to expose how they hid their relationship from him for a while.

nothing much has changed between them, really. they were still the same best friends who tried every matcha place in the city, even if it mean that yohan would make a face on the first sip and piper coaxing him to change his mind about it. he still doesn't like it, by the way. still tasted like a freshly mowed loan. they were still the same best friends who would rather stay in the comfort of piper's condo unit, tangled in each other's arms on the bed that could fit their whole friend group while watching the same three shows that they knew by heart. most importantly, they where the same best friends who took comfort in each other's words, especially on days that got too long and the weather was rough. seeing piper's smile was enough to turn those days around and make it better, so much better.

looking down at her, holding her gaze with his, yohan was looking at his life, his future, and he was going to make sure that piper is provided for, whatever she needed ⏤ she deserved everything good in the world. “ i love you too, so much, ” he could say that over and over and never get tired of telling her and showing her how much he loved her. “ i just want you to be happy, ” he allowed himself to be pulled down on top of her, just enough that he wasn't putting all his weight on her. when piper started dotting kisses on his cheeks, he swore his heart melted and he was overwhelmed with the feeling of happiness and contentment. sure, his face was also flushed and he was softly giggling, but it felt so good, knowing that he's able to love and be loved back.

“ i asked naya to choose your clothes and i packed it for you, so you don't have worry about those, ” yohan reassured her and if there's anyone who knew piper the best, it would be naya, her best friend. of course, he told their friend group about his plan and it was extremely difficult to ask them to keep their mouths shut, but that's just how they are. he wouldn't ask for better friends, though ⏤ they've gone through so much together, it was appropriate to involve them in his planning. “ we're gonna be sailing for a while, gusto mo ba mag-ikot? we can rest first if pagod ka, we can order room service, whatever you want to do, this whole trip is about you, ” yohan lifted himself up on his elbows, leaning down to kiss her forehead, then the tip of her nose, then finally, her lips.
