What to Expect
The Similan Islands and its Whale Sharks! Liveaboard trip in this area is one of the best scuba diving experiences you will find in Thailand. Its huge granite boulders with caverns and arches, lush greenery and white sand beaches ring the nine islands, completing the view from above water. The marine ecology in this area is unparalleled, colourful schools of fish, coral reefs, and endangered species that welcome divers like the Whale Sharks or Manta Rays. Look out for such photogenic little critters as ghost pipefish, sea moths, frogfish, ribbon eels and many different nudibranchs. Koh Tachai and Koh Bon, members of the Similan Island National Park, are visited en-route to Richelieu Rock in the Surin Marine Park, and offer more Pelagics, Napoleon Wrasse and Night Diving for Macro-Critters.
Whatever your scuba diving pleasure might be, the Similan and Surin Marine Parks are the dive destinations that will satisfy your desires and give you the trip of a lifetime

SOUTH SIAM 3 & 4 LIVEABORD
South Siam 3 runs twice weekly 3 day / 2 night trips to the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Surin islands and Richelieu Rock. Divers can make a longer trip by starting on the right day (ask us for details - see more information and prices below). The South Siam boats are low budget options but are about the only option for a short 2 night trip that includes the amazing Richelieu Rock. 2 day / 1 night trips are possible starting most days with diving at the Similan Islands and Koh Bon. Overnight trips do not include Tachai or Richelieu Rock. Trips begin almost any day during the high season (late October - early May), but if you want a 3 day / 2 night trips including Richelieu then you must start on Wednesdays or Sundays (South Siam 3) or Saturday or Tuesday (South Siam 4). Diving from a liveaboard will give you the chance to explore at your leisure the sites and marine life that populate these waters: leopard sharks, whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, schools of batfish, moray eels hunting or resting inside small crevices, snappers, barracuda, triggerfish, surgeonfish and unicornfish. The national park hosts breathless underwater topography and a great variety of marine life. Huge granite boulders with caverns and swim-throughs are a natural playground for enthusiastic divers who search for sharks, schools of reef fish, as well as a whole range of macro critters including countless types of nudibranchs, frogfish and pipefish. Koh Bon is famed for its frequent manta ray encounters. Koh Tachai provides an opportunity of catching glimpses of ‘big stuff’. Then be transferred by speedboat back to Thap Lamu at 4:30 pm, then on to your hotel in Phuket or Khao Lak. Breakfast and lunch are served on this day.

THE JUNK LIVEABORD
The Junk liveaboard is a stunning, historical 33m vessel that offers liveaboard diving holidays in Thailand. Originally built in 1962 as a sailing cargo vessel, she was completely overhauled and refitted in 1997 to the vessel she is today. Built from the finest Asian teak wood known as Takien Tong, she is a three mast junk vessel with 330 square metres of sails that are both functional and beautiful.
The Junk is able to comfortably welcome 18 divers on board. Accommodation is provided in two flexible double/twin cabins, two triple berth cabins, and two quad cabins that can sleep up to four divers in twin bunk beds. All cabins are equipped with air conditioning, fan and offer en-suite facilities.
The spacious, air-conditioned saloon is decoratively fitted with hand carved shelves, drawers and cabinets, behind which is hidden the on board entertainment selection. Guests can choose from a library of books, videos and mini discs to entertain themselves when out of the water. A large flat screen TV is perfectly positioned for optimal viewing while relaxing in the saloon area.
Dining on board The Junk is truly first class. With a wide selection of dishes ranging from Asian themed cuisine to more traditional Western styled dishes, guests are spoilt for choice. Alongside the regularly scheduled meals throughout the day, fresh fruit and additional snacks are always available. Meals are served in the saloon which, with its open design and many windows, offers incredible views of the surrounding oceans as guests tantalise their taste buds on the exceptional cuisine on board.
An expansive dive and leisure deck provides ample space for kitting up as well as for relaxing. Underwater photographers and videographers will appreciate the large fresh water rinsing tanks and designated areas for charging and preparation of equipment.

GIAMANI LIVEABORD
The Giamani is a higher class Thailand liveaboard offering 7 night Similan and Surin Island tours including dives at Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. Trips to the Similan Islands are starting from Phuket - Chalong Pier. All cabins are with air con and private bathroom. The boat was built in 1998 to IMO standards, and she was carefully looked after by her Italian owner. She was refurbished and converted into a liveaboard which started trips in late 2007. Giamani was refurbished again in 2015. Giamani accommodates a maximum of just 10 guests. We have found Giamani to be a quality boat offering great service.
The 24m MV Giamani Liveaboard, Thailand, is a Phuket-based liveaboard offering scuba diving trips from 2-6 nights, giving you great flexibility.
With only 5 air-conditioned, en-suite cabins, each with a mini-fridge, the MV Giamani caters to only 10 divers, assuring a personal service and plenty of space onboard. The air-conditioned salon is perfect for watching a movie, checking out your digital images of the day, or browsing the marine life library, and the popular cushion relaxation area will ensure your diving liveaboard trip is enjoyable. The M/V Giamani also has a spacious dive deck with a camera table and rinse tank to cater to underwater photographers. All meals will be served buffet style on the main deck and are plentiful, delicious, and diverse, offering both Thai and International cuisine. Special diets can be catered for with advance notice.
As you explore some of Thailand's best diving, you can rest assured that the crew of the M/V Giamani Liveaboard will help you to create a diving holiday to remember.
