𝒊𝒕’𝒔  𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏  𝒂  𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈  𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆  𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆        lilibeth  had  felt  this  sort  of  connection    --    it  isn’t  like  eileen ,     no .     with  calamity     things  are  easy .     she’s  not  held  to  any  expectation .    not  cast  aside  or  ignored .      with  her ,    she  can  breathe .     it’s  this  that  she  wanted  when  she  dreamed  of  moving  to  the  city   --      𝚏𝚊𝚖𝚎  𝚊𝚗𝚍  𝚏𝚕𝚊𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐  𝚕𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜     pale  in  comparison  to  the  feeling  of  truly  being  cared  for .    an     unconditional  and  unspoken     thing ,   they  look  out  for  eachother :    only  pain  experienced  around  cam  is  an     ache  in  her  cheeks ,     smile  unwavering  the  moment  the  other  woman  enters  a  room .    they  sit  on  a  bench  outside  of  a  club ,     𝚛𝚎𝚖𝚗𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜  𝚘𝚏  𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚒𝚛  𝚗𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝    visible  in  glitter  and  quickened  breaths .   the  cool  air  blows  against  the  warmth  of  their  skin ,    and  slowly ,   a  soft  hand  reaches  out ,    intertwining  fingers  and     leaning  close .     head  comes  to  rest  on  friend’s  shoulder ,    a  beat  of  silence  passing  before  lili  finally  speaks .       “    um  . . .    could ,    i  --    ”       heart  beats  fiercely  within  her  chest .     “    could  i  kiss  you ?     . . .   maybe ?    ”

𝒐𝒏𝒆  𝒂𝒓𝒎  𝒊𝒔  𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒅  𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓  𝒉𝒆𝒓  𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 ,          hiding  the  crimson  tint  of  her  skin  beneath    &    shielding  her  eyes  from  cam  altogether .    she  couldn’t  bear  to  look  her  in  the  eyes ,    can  barely  keep  her  own  open  anymore .    other  hand  is     lower ,    a  soft  hold  on  cam's  hair   —   not  as  a  method  of  control ,    but  encouragement .    the  air  within  the  apartment  feels  thick ,    filled  with  the    𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚎  𝚐𝚊𝚜𝚙𝚜     and  soft  moans  that  part  lilibeth's  lips  as  she  grinds  her  hips  downwards  against  calamity's  mouth .     she’s  happy  this  way ,    this  close ,    this  intimate .    feels  lucky  to  share      a  moment  so  heated      with  someone  so  close  to  her  heart .    (   any  unspoken  feelings  she  harbors  only  adding  to  her  arousal   )         “    cam .    ”       she  breathes ,     grips  at  her  own  hair  without  uncovering  her  eyes   --    but  just  when  the  actress  can  feel  her  release  nearing ,     calamity's  lips  slow  against  her .    the  whine  that  leaves  lili  is  sudden ,    high  in  pitch  and  panic ,    and  for  a  moment  sounds  like  she  might  cry .    both  arms  snap  away ,    gripping  tightly  at  the      𝚙𝚊𝚕𝚎  𝚢𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚠  𝚙𝚕𝚞𝚜𝚑      of  the  pillow  behind  her  head .        “    no   . . .   nonono—    ”        words  come  out  as  strained  whimpers ,    and  the  starlet's  back  arches .      “    cammy ,    y'er   —   y'er  bein'  rude  . . .   please .    ”       unashamed  to  beg ,    she  finally  looks  down ,    wide  eyes      locking      with  the  other’s .      “    please  let  me   . . .   please ,   i  wanna  come .    ”

𝒔𝒉𝒆  𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏𝒕  𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓  𝒅𝒐𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈  𝒐𝒇𝒇       the  night  before .    intertwined  limbs  huddling  their  bodies  close .    slowly ,    she  blinks  awake ;    a  happy  hum  leaving  the  actress  as  she  gives  a  tentative  little  stretch    &    takes  in  the  sleepy  sight  of  calamity .    she’s  cute  like  this ,   causes  butterflies  to  begin  beating      rapidly  within  her  chest .     one  hand  is  moved       𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛  𝚜𝚘  𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚏𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚢 ,      rising  to  brush  hair  out  of  the  dark  haired  womans  face .   a  gesture  that  wakes  her ,    despite  lilibeth's     best  efforts .    she  can't  hide  the  smile  that  grows  as  cam’s  eyes  open ,     nor  would  she  want  to     . . .     and  leans  even  closer ,    lips  pressing  to  the  tip  of  her  nose .         “    g’mornin'  sleepyhead .    ”        a  gentle  squeeze  within  the  embrace,  then  a  second ,    shier  kiss  is  placed  upon  the  other's  lips .     lili  wishes  things  could  always  be  this  way .    soft ,   happy   --   safe .    

if  everything  in  the  world  were  perfect ,       they  would  stay  in  bed  forever ,        tucked     𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚  𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎  𝒕𝒉𝒆  𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅      under  the  plush  of  her  many  blankets .    but  the  world  isn’t  perfect ,   and  a  look  at  the  clock  gives  notice  that  she  only  has  two  hours  before  a  brunch  meeting .    lili  kisses  her  again ,   a  little  firmer ,    not  as  lazy  with  fatigue .        “    i  gotta  get  up  an’  start     gettin’  ready     soon   . . .   ugh !    i  don’t  wanna .    ”       doe  eyes  close  tightly  in  frustration ,   pulling  the  other  woman     even  closer    so  that  she  can  tuck  her  head  down  into  the  crook  of  her  neck  with  a  quiet  whine .       “    i  wanna  stay  here   . . .    why’s  the  world  gotta  be  so     mean ?    ”

𝒕𝒉𝒆  𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔  𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉  𝒉𝒆𝒓  𝒃𝒚  𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆 ,    lips  pressing  together .    defensiveness  comes  second  nature ,    especially  with  eileen   . . .   it’s  a  curse ,    to  want  to  see  the  good  in  people  so  badly  that  she  blinds  herself  to  any  missteps  that  her  friend  might  take .    they  are  friends ,    aren’t  they ?      --     she  almost  flinches ,   an  uncomfortable  truth  that  had  been      𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐  𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚎  𝚋𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚍     uncovered .     she’d  tried  ignoring  it  for  so  long  that  she  had  truly    convinced  herself    that  nothing  was  out  of  place .    the  way  she’s  treated   . . .   it  does  hurt .       but  that  pain  is  fleeting  compared  to  how  happy  she  feels  when      𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔  𝒂𝒓𝒆  𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 .     lilibeth  feels  cold  suddenly ,    exposed .    reaches  out  towards  calamity  to  link  arms  and  huddle  close  with  a  small  shrug  :     her  playful  nature  an  attempt  to  serve  as  mood  lightener   --   she  doesn’t  want  to  approach  the  subject  in  seriousness .    “   oh ,    i  dunno ,   cam !    i  ain’t  really     𝚊𝚕𝚕  𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 ,    either .   ”

｡  °    ★            𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑹𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑮   ,       @janedoez​​​​    as    calamity  :           they  don’t  deserve  you—   i  don’t  deserve  you .   but  at  least  i’m  aware  of  it .

𝒍𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒉  𝒉𝒂𝒔  𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓  𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕  𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇            to  be  a  prize .    she  isn't  anything  special ,    not  really .    she's  just    . . .    well ,    she’s  just  lili .      it  isn't  that  the  young  woman  feels  she  is  without  value    —    sure ,    she's  successful .      𝚒𝚝𝚜  𝚗𝚘  𝚜𝚎𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚝 ,      but  at  the  end  of  the  day ,     she's  human .    and  so  is  cam .    though  the  usual  badmouthing  eileen  comes  expected ,    the  moment  those  observations  are  turned  inwards  the  actress'  eyes  widen ,   turning  upon  her  companion .       “   what ?    ”       there's  a  crack  to  her  voice ,    the  sudden  shock  of  it  all  almost  funny .    𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 .       “    y'don't    —    no !     stop ,    don't  say  that  . . .    ”        the  words  are  a      hushed  attempt      at  comfort ,    and  the  darker  blonde  moves  herself  closer  to  her  friend .       “    you  deserve  good  things ,     cammy   —   not  that   . . .   not  that  i'm  too  good  or  anythin' ,     just   —   i  ain't  better  than  you .    really .    ”

evil  laughter    .....
