ā€œLooking good takes priority over being comfortable. You’ve got that covered, more or less.ā€
Tumblr media
ā€œInteresting? No, not really. You might be the only one, and I’ve only just met you, so that says a lot.ā€
Ā  Ā  Ā ā€œI’ll take that as a compliment. I do try to look good when I can, professionalism and all that, but sometimes you’ve gotta make sacrifices.ā€ A balance between fashion and comfort, something she’d taught herself strictly over the years. Something she prided herself on.
Tumblr media
Ā  Ā ā€œI’ll admit, you’re rather interesting yourself, maybe not the MOST, but definitely up there on the list. It’s not everyday I get to speak with a famous manga artist. My job really does throw wild shit at me sometimes.ā€Ā

hopingforjustice:
慤 慤His speech made it clear the nervousness was shared, which somehow eased her heart. A sign that they both cared a lot about it, right? So good to know they could count on each other that way. Her pink eyes wandered around, curiosity directed to the house for the first time, added with a small sensation of awkwardness to be in a closed place again… Okuyasu’s voice rescued her from these thoughts, just to put a confused expression on her face. ā€˜It’s awesome you still wanted to help… I ain’t that smart.’ ā But this is your idea, a very good one!Ā āž Eyebrows drawn together and lips pouting when facing him, silently asking not to give up his credits, soon replaced by a smile full of encouragement. ā Besides, it’s not like I know a lot about it. We’re going to learn together! That’s the best part, at least for me.Ā āž It wouldn’t be as fun or challenging if Reimi was just there to tell them how to do things. Endowed with some didactic, perhaps — but still far from being the solution to all problems. She wanted to be a cog in the wheel, not a miracle tonic or something.Ā
慤 慤Shyness was the minimum expected in that scenario. In fact, if the question came down to that, they could consider themselves lucky. She was well aware of the feelings that surfaced in this kind of situation. Help was instrumental in making the town safe again, and even though Reimi was humble enough to accept it with an open heart, it wasn’t always easy… For his father it should be even worse. ā We will take it easy, don’t worry. I don’t want him to be stressed.Ā āž Being rejected was a very real possibility, but she was doing her best not to focus on that right now. ā And you too, of course.Ā āž How could Okuyasu go to school in peace if he wasn’t sure his father would be okay? Both of them needed to be overcome by her convincing power. ā Fortunately, I’m a baby whisperer. I know some tricks that can help.Ā āž A dose of amusement injected into her voice, after all they were not talking about a real baby. His difficulty understanding just made her think that the way of connecting would not be that different. Something based on empathy and identification — things that didn’t need words to be said.
Tumblr media
慤 慤So Okuyasu’s father finally revealed himself, walking hesitantly towards them… A heartbreaking scene. Not exactly the lack of elements that made him human one day, replaced by blistered green skin and mismatched eyes — but fear controlling every little action. So fragile and hopeless that made her heart squeeze, a suffocating sensation that never reached her features. Bowing in a respectful manner, she imitated his signals to return the greeting equally. āĀ Nice to meet you, Mr. Nijimura. I’m Reimi Sugimoto, and this is Arnold.Ā āž The dog’s tail wagged slightly, interest in his glowing black eyes. ā Thank you for having us, it’s very kind of you. I hope we’ll all get along well!Ā āž Regardless of his level of understanding, decisions were not in his hands anymore. Wasn’t it to provide him with a little independence that they were here? So it seemed right to show proper deference. ā What do you have there? A photo?Ā āž She asked sweetly, hands on her knees as she leaned a little towards him. The way he held it, as a safe haven, made it seem like a good way to start.
Ā  Ā  Ā  A sigh of relief when his father doesn’t start to panic. It’s always a toss up, how he’ll take meeting new people. He’s only met a few here and there, Okuyasu doing what he could to attempt to introduce him to the people in his life, and some went very well while others resulted in....well Okuyasu having to calm his father down, apologizing, OR even threatening those who hadn’t taken the change that his dad had gone through very well. (it was always the rude comments, the looks of disgust, maybe Mr. Nijimura didn’t comprehend or seem to mind, but his son certainly did and NEVER let it slide if there was anything he could do about it.).
Ā  Ā It was always stressful on some level, but a type of stress he’s become accustomed to. Even now, he tries to stand to the side, close enough that his father knows everything is okay, but just a step away that he’s doing this on his own.
Ā  Ā  Mr. Nijimura does take a hobbled step back at the sight of the dog, not out of fear but CAUTION, even more-so when Reimi herself kneels closer. Sometimes closer meant danger, he’d grown to make this association first nature unless it was Okuyasu or another he was familiar with. Photo is clasped to his chest, hidden away suddenly as if he was worried she was going to take it. Soft, but distressed, garbles come from him, looking worriedly at his son, but is only greeted with an encouraging tilt of his head.
Ā  Ā  Ā  so he slowly revels the photograph, his grip on is loosens as he holds it out for her to see more clearly.Ā  It’s a family photo, two young children sit with a mother and a father. They look happy enough, happy and together. He isn’t 100% certain about WHY this means so much to him, but he knows it IS. the photo makes him feel at peace, though with an underlying sadness, there’s a familiarity within the image. That’s his FAMILY, (the word holds a vague meaning, but some meaning all the same.)
Tumblr media
Ā  Ā  Ā ā€œIt’s us, all of us.ā€ Okuyasu cuts in to explain.Ā ā€œAn’ old family photo, from when Keicho and I were kids..before, ya’ know.ā€ He scratches the back of his neck, gaze averted because he always has mixed feelings when thinking about it.Ā  A few steps closer to the two, standing next to his father now. ā€œHe keeps it with him all the time, searched for it forever..that’s how I KNOW there’s gotta be some of my old pops in there somewhere, because he knows about..i think he knows that’s him an’ mom, and me, and big bro .ā€ He’s clinging to that hope, it’s what’s been getting him by as time has gone on. He’d watched as his father searched through the chest nonstop, no knowledge that he’d been looking hopelessly for that photograph.
Ā  Ā  The malformed man knows that the picture is the center of the conversation, he’s holding it closer to Reimi can really get a good look at it {though he has no intention of actually letting it go willingly. This is all still a new situation for him, someone new being brought INTO his home, that keepsake is his safe space, his security blanket}. His awkward beak-like mouth doing what could be perceived as a smile, lopsided eyes are bright with what could pass as understanding.Ā Ā
Ā  Ā  Ā ā€œHe doesn’t let a lot of people see it, if you try to take it from him he gets a bit antsy...ā€ Okuyasu’s hands go to his pockets, just starting to relax just a little.

ā€œSo, what exactly does the Speedwagon Foundation do?ā€ Bruno asked, placing his chin in his hand.Ā ā€œI’ve never really heard of them until now. I’m assuming since you’re talking to me, they must have something to do with Stand users.ā€
Tumblr media
Ā  Ā  Ā ā€œAren’t you a smart one?ā€ She smiles at him, grateful that this seems like it’ll be easy enough.Ā ā€œFor the most part, yes. Different parts of the Foundation do different things, but most all of them deal with Stands and Stand Users. Whether it’s research on their origins, medical aid, or, in my case, simply keeping track of stand user activity, make sure they don’t turn out to be enemies.ā€ The woman speaks casually of her job,it’s one she’s actually learned to love.Ā ā€œWe’ve determined you’re a decent ally though.ā€

gdbyenstalgia:
Kakyoin blinked in surprise as he heard Avdol approach and speak to him, not expecting for anyone to notice the way he had been staring out of the submarine window. Truthfully, he had a lot on his mind. Avdol’sĀ ā€œdeathā€ for one. Although he had learned the truth immediately after, the image of his body laying there was still imprinted in his mind, as well as the feeling of his blood staining his hands as he had held him.
Ā Not only that, but the remnants of nightmares that Death 13 had left his dreams haunted although the baby was no longer with them. Being the only Crusader who could remember it, it meant there was no one for him to talk to about it. Although… Avdol had always been knowledgeable about other Stand users. Perhaps he would know something, or at least be more understanding than the others?
Tumblr media
ā€œYes, actually, I have something I’d like to ask you,ā€ he replied, turning his attention to the man.Ā ā€œDo you know anything about the Stand that represents the tarot card of Death?ā€
Ā  The question comes unexpectedly. Avdol had thought of many other things that Kakyoin could’ve asked, especially in detail about the journey they’re on, perhaps even about the recovery from his injuries, but such a specific question had left him surprised.Ā ā€˜Death’, that particular Stand was an interesting one, he can’t imagine why this is the one Kakyoin has taken an interest in.
Tumblr media
Ā  Ā  Ā ā€œThe Death Stand, or Death 13, as I think it’s also known as. However-ā€ The fortune teller has vast knowledge of various abilities, gained from ages of research, divination and connections, and yet-Ā ā€œDetailed information about that one in particular is limited to me.ā€ Expression apologetic when he gives the news.Ā ā€œI’m more than happy to tell you what I know, though I hope you don’t mind if I ask why you’re so curious.ā€ He knows he’s missed out on a few things while he was gone, Joseph had filled him in on everything, and none of the tales had any mention of that opponent.Ā
Ā  Ā ā€œI’m afraid I don’t know too much though, Id I know what you’re looking for specifically, i’ll be able to give you better information.ā€ He’s studying the teen’s face, Kakyoin has looked tired to him for a while now, he’s more than willing to share what he knows if it’ll ease the other’s mind.
