Like, yeah it was definitely not intentional coding and more done to drive the point home how "socially inept" and geeky Larry is, but I mean... Sad fact of the matter is that a lot of Nerdy Loser™️ stereotypes and characters, especially from the late 80s-early 90s when Larry 1 came out, are sorta built around neurodivergent traits and observations from the outside looking in.

And Larry struggling with a lot of the same things I do all his life and finally deciding to break out of his comfort zone and live and find love--even though it took a major traumatic life change for him to get to that point--is very poignant to me. It makes me hopeful.

I love Larry. ♡

Updated the spiel about Larry's abilities on his bio. A lot of Larry's stuff has been a loooong process of thinking things up and out, so I have to periodically go back and elaborate on things. Both doc and on-blog bio page has been updated, but I'll post it here as well.

Larry’s got a few supernatural abilities, both from his little extraterrestrial incident years ago, and just by way of bein’ a Toon: Hammerspace - Larry can store items he’s come across and retrieve them again at a moment’s notice, regardless of the shape or size of said item. Semi-Invulnerability - Like regular invulnerability but slightly worse. High pain tolerance, and the ability to bounce right back from injuries that would land a regular human in the hospital. Squash-And-Stretch - Part of Larry’s enhanced durability comes from the fact that he’s got some very minor elastic qualities to him as a Toon. It’s not extreme and it’s also not voluntary, but it helps when he’s, say, thrown from a building..or a moving vehicle..or plane. He’s very throwable. Reloading - Larry exists permanently within a transitional state of existence. He is alive, but he is dead. He is dead, but he is alive. He isn’t a ghost or a zombie, he’s entirely corporeal and by all accounts alive and healthy, but his stint in space unlocked a latent ability to hop between planes of reality…apparently in a manner so traumatic, it partially ripped Larry from existence itself. If somehow Larry’s enhanced durability doesn’t bail him out and he does actually meet his demise… it doesn’t last very long. He’ll “wake up” moments later, good as new. Your muses will see this as a short, distorted “glitch” effect concentrated on Larry for a few seconds, in which he’ll disappear and reappear as he was before whatever caused his death. This isn’t exactly a “rewind” effect as it appears to be, though. Larry knows when he’s died, and remembers everything about it.
