jumbled f.naf movie thoughts under the cut. proceed with caution because these are ALL spoilers!!
okay i am taking the idea that mike is not related to william and RUNNING. yes, that is mike Schmidt, but still?? there's the weird abby factor too, but i'm thinking so hard abt tossing aside the name because of her similarities to charlie. that LOOKS like kid charlie, not elizabeth, and considering how impeccable the casting was otherwise, i can't help thinking that was intentional? also god the misleads on the names were CRAZY. (remember when we thought "hank" was henry???)
i might take my lore-manipulation even Further and say, given everything, that mike IS mike, vanessa IS vanessa, and abby is a parallel for charlie. there's some book parallels sprinkled in the movie (there's actually a ton that, as a book appreciator (until tftp...), i love) BUT i am thinking especially about the reference to the kids believing spring bonnie is their Friend & how abby fixed their perspective / made them realize who their killer was via drawings. carlton did that in the books iirc, but the connection to charlie and Her Story is there? they also have a brother who went missing when mike was younger and like, that reminded me hardcore of sammy in the books. he was kidnapped, mike couldn't stop it, and he keeps replaying his own memories to try and fix it- just like how, once she remembers sammy exists, charlie references the closet he was taken from multiple times.
ALSO ALSO they have an aunt jane, and i KNOW, i'm stretching, but charlie has an aunt jen in the books. their personalities would be different to some extent (jen was absent & borderline neglectful because she Knew the truth about charlie, whereas jane straight-up wants custody of abby for Greed reasons), but that's still an aunt neither of them are fond of?
also yeah i think this movie is almost like the books in that it is not main canon, but a parallel that is supposed to help you find answers about game lore. that's why vanessa is there, despite that making the timeline Wack, but still has the same overall character. i'm also super supportive of the idea that mike schmidt is NOT michael from sister location because he would also just be a good standalone character.
i actually love the twist of william being vanessa's dad. iirc vanessa also referred to her dad as "bill" in the retro cds, which made me yell abt connected dots. i know that'd fuck up the timeline if it was real in canon, but like.....i adore william being a dad that she is trying to fight against. i think, on the whole, it's meant to represent william acting as a controlling father figure in game canon. it's also representative of vanessa's overall struggle against him, hence her being a "reluctant follower." i love movie vanessa. she got more screentime than game vanessa........
i ADORE the animatronics being portrayed as friends (to kids at least), which is how i always saw them. i also love the nod to william having influence over them bc again, they trusted spring bonnie in the books until they were shown the truth.
BALLOON BOY. straight-up he was the character who jumpscared the most and it was SO funny. i love that balloon boy figurine, i want him in my house Now
my husband (who only knows fnaf through osmosis) and i agree that susie's dog is possessing the cupcake. they made a joke about susie having a pet that somehow inhabits the cupcake now and it gave me a stupid epiphany - william almost definitely killed her dog (points at "toy chica: the high school years") so like...what if dog = cupcake?? that's why it's so damn FERAL (but also protective :'))
the credits.......whoever (on twitter before i left it) said they'd cringe if the movie had "five nights at freddy's" by the living tombstone in the credits was so fucking wrong. i was already mad abt that comment but like, with how much of a love letter this movie is to the series as a whole, it's even better that they got the song from the peak of fnaf's recognition. it's super nostalgic to me as somebody who has been with these games from the beginning. i remember first hyperfixating on fnaf and having a spotify playlist that was JUST the living tombstone's fnaf song. and now i have a playlist of 500+ fnaf fansongs y'know!!!!
ok those are the biggest things i got on my first watch. i know for a fact i am going to watch this multiple times so watch out for possible updates!!!! i'm also probably going to post this several days out because it literally JUST released and i don't want to overwhelm anyone (bc god , the reason i watched asap was because of how terrified of spoilers i was).

UNPROMPTED || ALWAYS ACCEPTING! || @securitybreachdd
securitybreachdd asked: "Freddy said it was MY turn in the go karts!" (Gabe to Greg :3 if u want )
❝ Oh, yeah? ❞ [Gregory smirked, then playfully stuck his tongue out; unlike their earlier argument, it was obvious that he wasn't serious. Besides, he DID actually have a solution to this problem in his pocket ( not literally, though, since the weight would severely drag him down ).]
[In Monty Golf, unbeknownst to all but himself ( and Monty, probably ), there was a go-kart just WAITING to be tricked out. Freddy said that Gregory couldn't ride on his own ( curse his abnormally small stature! ), but if he could find another driver assist bot, then he could get the kart working -- and drive alongside his brother, at that! Maybe he could even get Gabriel onboard...having to take turns on the only functioning go-kart sucked.]
[He shifted to make himself comfortable in the go-kart, a sign that he wouldn't BUDGE until he struck a deal with Gabe. It might be frustrating for his brother in the moment, but he was pretty confident that Gabe would want to help. Neither of them were particularly patient.]
Tumblr media
❝ I've got a better idea. You can take your turn on the go-karts if you help me find another driver assist bot. ❞ [From that information alone, his goal should have been pretty clear. Besides, his brother would have plenty of time to ride the track alone while Gregory fixed up any bot they found.] ❝ Deal? ❞

@burnt-basement-bunny wanted a doomed family reunion!
[Years had passed since Baby's twisted "reunion" with her father; a labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize. What was meant to bring them together, make her and her fellow animatronics "complete," was a fabrication -- and in the end, she and her "friends" were scorched, buried beneath ashes and rubble. Those with a strong enough will survived and pushed beyond, though.]
[Circus Baby was built to endure; her passion was immeasurable, her loyalty everlasting. No matter what, she would persevere. She would find her father again, and while she searched, she continued his work.]
[Expanding on the technology she was built with, she figured out a way to steal the identities of her victims. She masqueraded as them for years, while seeking out the one thing that she knew would lead her to her father -- Remnant. Immortality. Power like that would always wind its way back to her father, a man desperate to live forever; and if she hunted it down, perhaps even grasped it for herself, she might finally find him...or he might find her. He might even be proud!]
[Imagine how thrilled he would be to know that his creation -- his daughter -- had been devoted to their cause all this time, and that she had even tapped into his greatest source of power so that she might always be there for him. So that she could always lend her hand to their cause.]
[Did she truly know what that "cause" was, though?]
[...No matter. Her hunt had all led up to this; waiting and searching, killing and hiding, all so she might find him here...in another pizzeria, under the shell of a Pizzaplex. She knew what to do. It had been some time, but she'd already learned what had become of her father in the time since they'd separated.]
[Another horror attraction. You would think they'd stop after the first one was set ablaze. Still -- the decomposing rabbit in there was her father, and she was determined to set him free. He would have despised being part of a show like this, after all.]
[Stealth wouldn't matter in the end, but Circus Baby enjoyed putting on a show; she enjoyed playing pretend, especially with the girls she'd left for scrap. Incognito, wearing the skin of one of her victims, she entered the attraction...and fearlessly approached her father.]
Tumblr media
❝ ...Daddy. It's you in there, isn't it? ❞ [She beamed, delighting in his presence and her own success.] ❝ It’s me. Elizabeth. ❞

UNPROMPTED || ALWAYS ACCEPTING! || @spoopydepot
spoopydepot asked: Henry grins, arching his back with sheer pride. What an opportunity! "Mister Crown, have you read my thesis by any chance? I believe you may find it interesting for your vision." (aww shit here we go.........)
[His thesis...?]
[Callum's eyes sparkled with recognition; this must have been none other than Henry Miller! Indeed, not only had he read the man's thesis with utter fascination, but there had been some part of him that wished to incorporate it into his vision for the future. His prosthetic limbs had done wonders, but they weren't "bonded" to their hosts like a true limb might be. In a similar fashion, the new object heads Callum was designing and wished to take worldwide, well...]
[They were lacking. Just as his initial prosthetic designs were, he craved...more. A way to properly adhere flesh to metal, soul to hardware. Miller's thesis seemingly proposed a way in which he could do so, and he found himself encapsulated by it. Now, to be speaking with the man himself...he couldn't believe his luck!]
❝ Why, of course I have! You must be Henry Miller -- it's an honor! ❞ [Said the mayor-to-be. Callum extended his hand, anxious to shake hands with a prospective business partner.] ❝ You're right on that account, Mr. Miller. I would love to hear more from the man himself -- I've just gotta hear more about this "joy of creation." ❞

@in-its-code ❤’d!
["The Dead Forest;" Fritz hadn't played this game in ages, perhaps even since he'd installed it in his pizzeria, but recent complaints coerced him into playing again. This had been one of the games he and Bonnie had collaborated on back in the day...perhaps that was why he'd recently been avoiding it like the plague. Bonnie's contributions were scattered throughout, and the storyline itself was an idea she'd pitched. Bun's fascination with the paranormal shone in every aspect of the castle and Dead King Freddy's character...]
[Thankfully, Fritz wasn't here for the story that he and his daughter had devised; there was a glitch that one of the kids in the pizzeria had uncovered, and so it was Fritz's obligation ( as one of the game's creators ) to figure out what was happening. He followed the "instructions" he'd been given, walking through a wall in the castle ( a wall that had been solid in every previous run ), obtaining a mysterious key, and selecting the fountain above the Garden Inn. A new objective flickered onscreen: "collect."]
[This wasn't part of the game. Fritz's memory might have been out of sorts for a long while now, but he would have recalled programming a quest like this. He followed through on his new mission, collecting disconcertingly familiar pieces of a body; from the moment he recognized what he was collecting, unease and guilt started to wash over him. It felt as though the game was speaking to him, or perhaps that it was punishing him. Each part of the body spoke to him, crying for help, hinting at the pain of inhabiting an arcade cabinet...]
[Finally, he finished "collecting;" the sight of Bun's the body in pieces like this brought back memories he didn't want to acknowledge, and so he struggled to focus on the next quest. "Find me."]
["Me"...? It couldn't be. There had been hints, if one could call them that -- this entire unprogrammed addition to the game was focused on what he'd done, but at the center of it...was Bonnie. His daughter. Still, something of this magnitude wasn't possible, was it?]
[His mind flashed back to the old rumors from Freddy's, to the research Bonnie had been conducting before he -- before he killed her. Had she really been here, all this time? Trapped in an arcade cabinet...?]
["Find me." It took him a good while, but he did -- the well in the South Forest. Fritz selected it, and the game went into a battle sequence...with Bonnie. Of all the animatronics...]
[Still, Bonnie spoke with their default dialogue -- as though this was a normal fight, the same one that had taken place several bosses ago. If there was any chance that this might be what Fritz thought it was, though...]
[He highlighted the "block" button, and pressed it -- another glitch, this time altering Bonnie's appearance and the very battleground they were on. This wasn't a fault of the game. This was...]

EVELYN EVELYN || STILL ACCEPTING! || @zcmbierabbit
zcmbierabbit asked: “Everyone stares, but nobody ever sees you.” -- for Gingi for the thing we discussed
[Phonegingi knew exactly what William was referring to; the way everybody in town referred to, treated them as, monsters. Animal control had been called on them Phone-God knows how many times, and on several occasions, they'd been shooed or outright banned from establishments simply for existing. Sure, it might have also had something to do with their odor, but...the point remained. It wasn't just their stench, nor their nudity; it was them. Society perceived them as a monster.]
[Nobody was willing to look beneath their repugnant fleshy phone-head, their green skin, nor their six nipples, to find the hume-on been that lied beneath. Assuming that's what they really were, at least. They didn't know anymore. They were vaguely certain they were a person -- that's what they kept telling themselves.]
Tumblr media
❝ Boy, do they! At least, when they can stand to look at me. Sometimes, they can't even do that much. ❞ [Not without screaming, reaching for their phone-head to dial the police, or being too repulsed to continue staring.] ❝ I didn't think you'd have that on your plate, too, Purpsy. I think anybody who'd call you a freak's dumber than ME, and that's sayin' something. ❞

 @glambytes ❤’d! ( for mangle! )
[Closure.]
[That was the word of the day, wasn't it? Closure. Maybe if he could reconcile with the events of weeks( ? months? he'd lost all sense of time since the accident ) past, he would be able to rest easy again. Maybe he wouldn't have these damned nightmares every night. Or maybe...]
[Well, maybe he was just a fool.]
[This accursed place had closed its doors after the "bite," and the animatronics he'd spent a number of all-nighters with were set to be scrapped. That meant Jeremy was essentially free to roam the place when he broke in -- it wasn't as though anybody cared now -- and no matter what happened, the animatronics wouldn't be sticking around much longer. This was the last night he could do this before he moved...he was willing to give anything a shot, even if it meant confronting Toy Bonnie again.]
[Still -- as he approached the show stage area, he felt himself freeze up. The idea of looking at Toy Bonnie again -- its face, its teeth -- he...couldn't do it. Not yet. Maybe he could practice with a less intimidating Toy first. He first approached Balloon Boy, only to recall that the kid-shaped animatronic spoke only in three phrases, and worse...he'd probably reach for his flashlight when he least expected it. For whatever reason, BB never tried to hurt him...he just wanted his damned light.]
[This light was his lifeline, though. BB couldn't have it.]
[With no other options ( there was no way in Hell Jeremy would approach the Puppet -- much like the man who spoke to him over the phone, he was freaked out by that thing ), Jeremy wandered over to Kid's Cove. As he brought out his flashlight to look for the Toy in question, he started trembling uncontrollably, expecting Mangle to jump out and surprise him when he least expected it. Fuck. Why didn't he bring a mask? If any of the bots saw him and perceived him as untrustworthy -- ]
[He shuddered. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe he should run. And yet, with a quivering voice, he managed to speak.]
Tumblr media
❝ M-Mangle. You're in here, a-aren't you? J-Just...show yourself. But, er, show yourself...slowly, I-I guess. ❞ [He'd probably bolt if they showed up out of nowhere, and who knew what'd happen then?]

CUTE & FLUFFY || STILL ACCEPTING! || @feralreason
feralreason asked: “We’ve been friends for so long, you’re like family to me now.” -- for  Henry EMILY from Dad Will..........
❝ Oh, William. Don't be silly. ❞ [Henry chuckled; he spoke with sincerity, and it was obvious that his intent wasn't to mock or deride his best friend ( despite the content of his words ).]
[As far as Henry was concerned, William was family, and had been for years -- his children had been referring to William as their "uncle" ever since they learned to speak. His friend's sentiment was heartwarming, and it delighted Henry to hear that the feeling was mutual, but it felt a bit silly to acknowledge the idea now -- they'd been "family" for a long time, hadn't they?]

UNPROMPTED || ALWAYS ACCEPTING! || @glambytes
glambytes asked: They may be used to the constant wear-and-tear, but the fox never liked seeing Balloon Boy kicked over! They scoop the poor lad into a mass of limbs — propping him up, checking the child for dents on his casing, then smoothing out a propeller wing. Once all straightened out, Mangle curls around him in a tight, parental hug. (mango wanted to seek out the son <3)
[Getting kicked over was never fun. Of all the kids' torments around here, it was the one BB hated the most -- not only did they seem to enjoy the violence in the act, but they always got a kick out of his efforts to get back up. His design was unfortunate in that, once he was down, he was rendered as helpless as a turtle; he was unable to get back on his own two feet, not without outside help. At least he could roll around enough to hit one of those brats with his sign, even if he was sure he'd get in trouble for that later. They deserved it!]
[Still, that left the matter of standing. He couldn't do it alone. Which was right around when...]
[Mangle! His absolute favorite of all the toy animatronics, come to save the day again. His eyes shined with newfound hope at her approach -- he doubted an employee would help him, but Mangle would.]
[As predicted, they propped him back up and inspected him for any "injuries," then smoothed out a propeller wing he hadn't noticed was bent. Good thing Mangle had a better eye than him. After all was said and done, the fox curled around him in a tight embrace, which Balloon Boy happily returned. He loved his fox family.]
Tumblr media
❝ Ha ha ha! -- Hi! ❞ [It was always a struggle to express affection with his prerecorded noises, so he tended to avoid it. Still, he felt that Mangle deserved at least some acknowledgement for his heroism.]

SPOOKY SCARY SENTENCE STARTERS || STILL ACCEPTING! || @zcmbierabbit
zcmbierabbit asked: “I’d still love you even if you were a monster.” -- for Norm
❝ Even 'f I -- ❞
[Norm scowled beneath his paper-bagged facade; the sentiment, albeit spoken with good intentions, only resurfaced Norm's bitterness.]
[He'd learned enough by now to recognize that the only true "monsters" were those who harmed others, the ones who would destroy peoples' lives for no reason other than their appearance, calling them freaks and turning them into outcasts in their own homes. He'd considered Mingus a monster, up until he'd learned her true intentions. Insidious, horrific, and unfathomably wrong as her actions were, they had noble intent behind them -- she only wanted her grandfather back. Norm did, too.]
[But if Norm was a monster...]
[That would make him no better than Henry. No better than the man who'd hurt and abused his son until he was broken. Norm wasn't sure he could live with himself if he ever harmed any of his kids like that.]
Tumblr media
❝ I...don't doubt ya, son, but I wouldn't want ya t'. Bein' a monster ain't jus' bein' a li'l weird-lookin', like some folks'd have ya believe...it's bein' downright evil. ❞ [Like Henry, although he kept that thought to himself.]

TRICK OR TRUTH || 2/10 (CIRCUS BABY)
anonymous asked: ✘ What will it take for you to cotton on that the man who left you to rot underground for decades will never love you the way you love him? (for Circus Baby!)
[Left her to rot...? NEVER love her?]
[Baby shook her head; they had him all wrong. Leaving her to rot would be -- he would have been no different from her creator. Henry was the one who'd left her, abandoned her in an incomplete state, content to let her writhe and suffer for the remainder of her days. Her father, on the other hand...]
[Her father saved her from a fate worse than death. He'd gone out of his way to complete and perfect her, granting her an identity that didn't revolve around a grieving man's daughter. He'd even built her a pizzeria. A family. He'd given her a life. Her pizzeria might not have lasted, and she and her former friends might have been stowed away in the underground, but it wasn't the same as what Henry did to her. She would remain adamant about that.]
[She had company. She had her family...the animatronics she once considered her family. They were allowed even the briefest glimpses of the outside world, and they were allowed to celebrate birthdays, to sing and dance. There might have been a nefarious purpose behind each and every one, but the point remained; they had moments of freedom. Despite the controlled shocks, despite the scooper, she would consider that damned facility Heaven compared to the isolation and agony of Henry's workshop.]
Tumblr media
❝ You're wrong about him. He did not leave us to rot; I...would know. ❞ [Uncontrollably, she found herself spilling her guts.] ❝ I have been abandoned before -- truly abandoned. What he did does not compare. We might have suffered, but our pain was not constant...and we might have been isolated from the outside world, but we still had each other. We were allowed to celebrate birthdays if we behaved. We were not abandoned...we were trapped, and we wanted to be free, but we were not left behind. ❞
[As for his affection...]
[That was one matter she couldn't bear to acknowledge. Some part of her would remain steadfast in her denial -- she could and would earn his affection one day. Someday, she would make him proud, and he would come to see her as his daughter. Yet, deep down...]
[She knew. She loved him so dearly. But was he even capable of returning that affection in full? Would he ever love her the way she wanted him to? Would he ever see her as the center of his world, and acknowledge her as such? Would he ever come to appreciate her or acknowledge her as his daughter? Or...would her efforts be hopeless?]
[Baby simply couldn't live in a world where that was true.]
❝ I... ❞ [Any confidence from her previous response had faded entirely; this was her one weakness. The chink in her armor.] ❝ I have to believe that he can -- that he will. Sometimes, however... ❞ [She sank, frightened to admit to her own misgivings -- she had never acknowledged them before. Why was she doing so now?] ❝ Sometimes I wonder if I am being foolish. I wonder if I am doing all of this for nothing. He has given me everything, and yet he has given me nothing. He has never spared a kind word or given me praise, but...I need to keep believing. I need to believe that he will someday call me daughter, or tell me he loves me. Otherwise...it has all been for nothing. ❞

TRICK OR TRUTH || 1/10 (MICHAEL)
(Truth Meme: Michael) If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before that week started, what would it be?
❝ Now, that's a loaded question. ❞
[Michael gave a weak laugh, but he'd mulled this question over a number of times in the past. After Ennard "escaped," and he was left a lone, walking corpse, he'd hidden away in paranoia-driven fear; thinking of all the ways he might have changed things, if there was anything he could have done. Had he even saved Elizabeth, or had he made things worse? Was this what his father wanted?]
["Put her back together" had been rather vague instructions, after all.]
[In the end, though...was there anything he could have done? Were it not him, they would have found some other poor soul to trick and sacrifice. Maybe it was for the best. Ignorance truly was bliss, and he doubted that his former self would have listened if he was outright told the truth of the matter -- that his sister was leading him to his "death." Perhaps the better solution would be to encourage himself about the future, and not the week ahead -- in the end, that was what really mattered. Those first few weeks post-Ennard had been rife with paranoia and night terrors, which he'd care more to avoid than anything else.]
[Maybe his real advice should just be "go to therapy." But how would a fresh corpse go about that?]
Tumblr media
❝ ...There are plenty of things I could tell myself. Quit, and don't look back. Reconnecting with your sister...with your father...isn't worth it. But I wouldn't have believed that then, and I don't think I believe it now. ❞ [Despite the horrors he'd endured, their efforts were working -- so he hoped. They were fixing Freddy's, helping the kids whose lives were stolen, and things were ultimately going to be okay. That was worth far more than his own sanity or his...well, his life.] ❝ So, really, I suppose all the advice I'd have to give would be...listen to Circus Baby. ❞

plushmenace asked: 💬 + the Night Guard (for Balloon Boy circa FNAF 2)
Tumblr media
[Oh, the night guard. Balloon Boy was VERY familiar with that guy.]
[Okay, not really -- but he knew that his fellow toys, his pirate fox dad, and the withered animatronics alike ganged up on him at night, so he did too. It was lots of fun! BB always tried to think of clever ways to mess with him, most of which involved stealing batteries. The dude was a real battery hog. The animatronics needed those WAY more than he did!]
[But, of course, BB could voice NONE of this. So, instead...]
❝ Hello? ❞ [Okay, that was one part of his nighttime ritual with the guard reenacted. How could he pantomime a prank on the guy, though?]
[After blinking and scanning the room, a lightbulb went off in his head -- duh! He could just pop one of his own balloons! So he did, and laughed uproariously ( with prerecorded audio ).] ❝ Ha ha ha! ❞

@inkspltter ❤’d! ( for nightmare freddy! )
[This was new.]
[Fritz's nightmares often, if not always, involved the toy animatronics; most notably, Toy Bonnie. The only character that had been "controlled" in all of his efforts to stop his night terrors was the Puppet, and that was only due to Strings' intervention -- the only "scarecrow" of his that actually worked. The others...well, the others were relentless. He'd wake up in a cold sweat from the mere sight of them, so having to relive his traumatic experiences as a night guard or the morning of the bite -- ]
[To say the least, it wasn't a pleasant experience.]
[Still -- he didn't recognize the setting of his nightmare tonight, assuming that's what this was. He felt a strange sort of lucidity that wasn't often present in his dreams; if it was, then maybe he would have been able to avoid his constant string of misfortune. No...this felt completely different. Surreal.]
[Assuming this would follow the same structure as his usual dreams -- perform your job, make a mistake, then die -- he swallowed and shined his flashlight around the room. It was a twisted mockery of his current office, made to resemble the one he'd been confined within back in his night guard days -- no doors, only one opening to the side, a vent, and his trusty flashlight. Oddly enough, he wasn't even equipped with a camera system this time around. Did he have a mask, at the very least?]
[He started scrounging around the office for the equipment he'd normally be provided with -- nothing. Off to a bad start already.]
[Worse yet, there was a screeching noise that he couldn't quite determine the origin of; with every passing moment, it grew in its intensity. Instinct told him to find the source, lest he experience yet another painful death. Clinging to his flashlight, he peered through the only “doorway,” ensuring that nothing was there. He did the same with the vent. The noise grew louder -- where could it be?]
[He shined his flashlight around his office, eyes darting for any hint on what the noise's origin might be -- finally, he settled the beam on something odd, but it was too late. Silence fell, and suddenly there was a bear -- Freddy. Not his withered self, not his toy self, but a nightmarish version of him that was absolutely covered in teeth -- ]
[Suddenly, this felt a bit more like the usual fare. Fuck.]
Tumblr media
[Starting as the bear leapt out, Fritz took a shaky step back, continuing to aim his light directly into the bear's eyes -- his last hope. He didn't move, didn't speak -- the T-Rex strategy had never worked before, but maybe it'd work now.]

@hxlf-dexd ( continued from here! )
[Michael gave a resigned nod at Danny's attempted understanding; it was kind of him to validate his feelings, especially since the corpse had never opened up about why Autumn was such a miserable season for him. There was once a time when he would have happily partaken in every single festivity that Fall had to offer, from Halloween, to pumpkin patches, to pumpkin spice lattes. Sadly, he just...couldn't find that spirit within him anymore. This time of year only reminded him of when his life had fallen apart, ages ago.]
[Danny continued, reiterating that Michael "really wasn't a fan" -- no. No, he wasn't. He'd lost his sister during a renowned Fall holiday, one so widely celebrated that decorations for it were plastered all over the damned place, so...it was difficult to enjoy the rest of the season. As for Christmas, well...]
[It was best to have a family to celebrate that one, and Michael hadn't ever since he was...what, thirteen? That was around the time Charlie died, and thus, when his family dynamic shifted forever. None of them had ever recovered, especially after...]
[Well, after Michael made it significantly worse.]
Tumblr media
❝ I...don't think I'm a holiday person. Just in general. ❞ [Michael sighed; he hadn't opened up yet, and he doubted he would now. Danny was just a kid. He didn't need Michael's baggage on top of everything else.] ❝ At least you can still enjoy them. Make your time count, y'know? Especially when it comes to trick-or-treating...you still do that, right? ❞
