this is less of a request and more of a silly thought that i wanted to share! i discussed this with another moot once but like... sampo would be such an asshole brother dude. in the most loving and affectionate way, of course!! but he would be such a little SHIT to have as a sibling LMAO he's the type of brother you would want to punch. lovingly, of course...... but still punch.

HE WOULD BE HE SO WOULD!! i think he would be like my brother (i'm projecting, i'm projecting so much) so he'd find it hilarious to jump out of corners to scare his sibling. also just straight up lying to them. nothing actually serious, but one of his favourite hobbies is tricking them into believing the dumbest shit he could come up with. bonus points if he can manage to get them to tell it to others with complete sincerity.

"hey, clara! did you know that if you plug an automaton into a charging port they glow like fairy lights?"

"huh?? really? that's so cool!"

sampo is also the kind of brother to insult everything about his sibling's existence but get incredibly offended if anyone agrees with them. like no susan, you cannot talk like that with THAT hair. how dare they, honestly. that is HIS sibling to insult and HIS only.

also you know that one scene from lilo and stitch, when nani just collapses on lilo saying 'oh noooo gravity is increasing on me...' he would do that to them as well. he's just an absolute little shit when it comes to his sibling. he loves them of course! and they love him back, but that does not stop them from wanting to punch him all the time.

Hello! ❤️❤️❤️ spare prayer for you! I’ve got three other bhad snippets to get through. Here’s Colm having an absolute spiral 😂

He hadn’t smoked this much in a long while.

A room had been provided to him— a small, sparse thing with a single gas lamp and a window that could barely be called such— but Colm could barely bring himself to stay in it, let alone lay down to sleep.

Exhaustion tugged at his eyes. The stimulant in his pipe sent a fine tremor through his veins. Dawn had just barely broken over The Barrel, sending weak, smoggy streams of light down the emptying streets. It illuminated the last stragglers like vampires out past curfew, staggering in the daylight as if it burned.

Colm wondered morosely when the last time was that any of those drunkards wrote a letter home. Were they worrying their fathers? Disappointing their mothers?

Despite the parameters of his accommodations, the world outside felt unbearably large. It was a booby trapped labyrinth of vices and violence, and his son was out there in the thick of it with a man who all but owned him. He might not be an indenture, but that didn’t make him any less a slave. Brekker kept him docile and addicted, so he could use his power. There was even a tattoo on his arm— the crow and cup. Just the thought of it had his meagre dinner ready to rise in his throat.

Why else would Jesper live above a gambling club? Why else would he be volunteering his power to make bespoke lockpicks and remove bullets? Why else would he—Jesper Fahey, the most notorious flirt of their town; the least interested in anything even vaguely resembling being committed— be settling himself into a relationship with some sweet thing fallen from the rich part of town?

Maybe Wylan’s father is trying to kill him because he was draining his account to support Jesper’s gambling. To get him under his spell. To… it all sounded a bit ludicrous, even with no sleep and his most paranoid scenarios at the ready.

Colm simply couldn’t imagine a world in which he would try to kill his own son. Of course, he knew cruel men could father children and still be cruel— he knew it well. But, to send an assassin?

It made him wonder if it was all just another spun story to lead him off the path. To keep him penned up and unable to take his son away. Did Jesper know more than he told? Apparently he lied easier than breathing.

Saints, Jesper. Colm took a deep drag on his pipe, sitting on the edge of the thin, miserable little mattress until the sun rose high enough in the window to touch his booted toes. If you don’t get him out of here, he’ll give up his whole life to this bloody band of broken dolls. The voice was urgent, shaking him by the shoulders. It sounded like Aditi.

Grief crashed into him like he’d only just buried her. Suddenly, where his pipe had him buzzing and twitchy before, guilt replaced it. There was lead in his bones, and Colm couldn’t even tap his toe anymore. Everything had too much weight.

Oh, Addy, it was almost a prayer, a hot prickle of misery springing to his eyes, where did I go wrong?

He didn’t know who his wife would be more disappointed in: Jesper, for the lying, the stealing, the everything… or Colm, for letting him disappear.

And then again that very night, he’d only watched as he swept down the stairs and into the night. Colm had been struck dumb, even with his hand still reaching around empty air. Stupid.

His son slipped through his fingers all over again. And he still hadn’t come back.

AVERY YOU GET ITTTTTTT..... their relationship with dottore is meant to be very convoluted. a blend of fondness and hatred, because they are like him. but they don't like that. because what does that say about their person? but does it really matter???? their life is comfortable and routine and can they really abandon it for someone like collei, who will come and go, just like all the test subjects tend to? who else would want them other than the fatui, other than dottore, anyway? they can't imagine anyone would accept or want them after knowing what they've done.

you are the most vile, dangerous person i know. you will not kill me. i hate you. i have some kind of fondness for you. you made me what i am today. i don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. you are my mentor. i do not want to learn from you. i would be nothing without you. i want to be something without you.

can't wait to post chapter 3 because then these ideas will really be shown and set into stone hehe

complicated relationships that aren't good or bad but a secret third thing (incredibly messed up but mutually beneficial)

dottore hasn’t even appeared yet but still it feels like the whole story comes back to him. it's his experiment, his lab, it feels like he's mentioned every other scene... it really gives the feeling that [name]'s life is hopelessly intertwined with him. what would they be without him, after all? they're the same, in some twisted way: both utter failures of humans, one morally bankrupt and one nursing a moral injury. (that is MY interpretation so far at least. i could totally be wrong lmao.)

i'm excited to see how you write their relationship when he actually appears. i know this is a collei & reader story but omg i NEED to see [name] and dottore interact. dottore is such a character to me. i hate him, he's terrible, but oh my god he is a great villain.

i am so excited for chapter three, you have no idea.
