as you walked into your new school, talking, laughing, and gossiping captivated the hallways. you looked around nervously, seeing so much people. god, if this is how much people you see in the hallways, then just imagine how big the school is.. (the exterior already made you feel like dying.)

you went over to a random locker, leaning onto it as you opened your phone. a minute passes, and youre immersed into your phone, not paying attention to anything around you. as you were about to text one of your friends (most likely riki), someone stood in front of you, looking down at you. how long had they been standing there for? you dont know, but you hope not for long.

“are you gonna stay on your phone all day or get off my locker?” you immediately shoved your phone back into your right pocket, looking up at the person who confronted you. she was pretty—ethereal. her features were insane. a group of 3 stood behind her, staring right at you. you snapped out of your trance, immediately moving off of her locker. “u-uh—sorry..!” great, yn ln. you embarrassed yourself not even an hour into your new school.

“who was that?” you heard one of them speak when you started to walk away, “i dont know..” one of them responded.

you finally got into your first class after so much walking, taking a step in as you took a look around. the first face you noticed? the owner of the locker that you were leaning on. aand thats when you were fucked. she immediately turned her head to you, as you two made eye contact. you turned your head away from her, turning to the teacher. “oh! yn! everyone, please welcome our new student. ln yn.” your teacher announced as you just stood there awkwardly. “umm.. yn, you can take a seat right there,” he pointed to an empty seat. you walked over, taking a seat.

“hi, im ning!” the girl to the right of you greeted, as you looked at her. wasnt she one of the girls apart of that group?, you thought. “ooh,, hi, im yn.” you replied as she giggled, “nice to meet you! friends?” she boldly asked, smiling. “yeah, sure.” you nodded, happily. you embarrassed yourself on the first day of school, but you made a new friend.. at least? its the thought that counts.

“alright! bye, everyone!” your first period teacher waved goodbye, the bell ringing as you got up from your seat, packing up before heading out. you walked through the hallways with your phone out, texting riki and yujin. as you continued to walk, you bumped into somebody, dropping your phone, “a—ah, im sor…” you looked up at the person.

WHAT THE FUCK.

you were met with the same girl who owned that damn locker.

“can you fucking watch where youre going, new girl?” she rolled her eyes, looking you up and down as you just picked up your phone from the floor and stood back up. “maybe you watch where youre going?” you bit back, “just learn how to stay out of my way, ‘kay? you seem a little obsessed,” she clicked her tongue, looking you up and down once more before walking away, leaving you stunned.

“..that bitch,” you murmured.

“what?” minjeong giggled, staring at aeri through facetime.

aeri was placed in her room, building legos on her desk. she had her phone leaned up on something to give minjeong, jimin, and ning a view of her lego building.

“has aeri always had this obsession with legos?” yizhuo asked, as aeri took out the packets of legos and the instructions out of the box. “yes.” aeri answered before grabbing the first packet and flipping through the instructions. “what are you building, anyway?” jimin questioned, “lotus flowers, i didnt know what to build so i just got this,” aeri showed the packaging to her phone camera.

“ooh.. lotus flowers? theyre pretty,” yizhuo smiled, aeri just nodding and opening the first packet, dumping it onto her desk. the pieces scattered, few dropping as she went down to pick them up. “ah, you guys, ive heard jake is trying to get with yn.” jimin stated, almost sounding disappointed. aeri stayed silent, all though, the look on her face changed distinctively. “im not surprised,” minjeong clicked her tongue. “jake.. any eye contact he makes with a girl, he thinks the girl wants him.”

aeri started to build the flowers, looking around her desk for the pieces that she needed. “you think yn will fall for jake?” jimin asked. “whaat? yn? no, ive known her for long enough to know that she wouldnt.” ning assured. aeri didnt say a word, focusing on her legos as she snapped the pieces together. the thought of ‘ln yn’ made her wanna jump off a cliff, and it was obvious.

she flipped to the next page of the instructions as the other three talked. they went on about unnecessary things, such as.. aliens, the new world, virtual stuff, etc. aeri only let out a few mumbles as responses, not looking up at her phone until that is,

yn gets mentioned again.

her head perks up at the name ‘yn’. the others continued to talk, but they clearly noticed aeri directing her attention to them when yn was mentioned. they shrug it off, and soon, aeri hops back into the conversation, but still, of course, building her legos.

a few minutes pass, and aeri finishes the first flower. “i’m done!” she announces happily before holding up a pink, lotus flower. yizhuos face lit up in awe, admiring it until aeri set it down gently on her desk, setting it aside. “theyre pretty.” jimin praises, “for real! are you building the white one next?” yizhuo asked, curious. aeri got the second packet out, and she nodded her head to confirm.

as time goes on, the other three still talking, the topics getting even dumber, “zorp vorp binted zinky zoogle forp meep?” minjeong blabbered. aeri raised her eyebrow, looking up from her legos. “youre going insane jeong..” jimin sighed, minjeong shaking her head. “anyway.. you done yet, aeri? its been around 20 to 30 minutes or so..” ning stated, as right in that moment, aeri put the last piece on to the last flower. “yup, just finished.” aeri says, holding up all three—there was two pink ones, and one white. (PINK + WHITE REF WBK) she slumped in her chair for about thirty seconds before getting up and stretching.

“dont forget, you guys! café tomorrow,” jimin reminded. “and dont worry, aeri, you wont be seeing yn,” minjeong added, giggling. aeri gave minjeong a look before ning spoke up, “okay but, where are we meeting? like we’ll all head to the cafe and meet there or..” ning trailed off, waiting for a response. “im fine with either, you guys make the decision and text me when you have.” aeri responded.

“oka!—”

ning got cut off when aeri left the facetime, as she sighed, grabbing the trash on her desk and heading to throw it away.

“you wont see yn,”

the words pounded in her head.

she hoped she didnt. yn fucking made her blood boil.

it was yet again another dreading school day. mostly because it was a monday, but who even enjoys school either way?

you sighed at your noisy alarm clock, turning to it and turning it off. you stared at the ceiling for a minute or two before finally getting yourself out of bed. you trembled at the sudden unwanted change of warmth, heading to the bathroom.. slowly, but surely.

the time read 8:04am on your phone as you looked up at the familiar school stood in front of you. you silently groaned before walking in, a light breeze hitting you.

you walked over to your designated locker, doing what you needed to do before you felt a pair of eyes latch onto you. it was practically normal now, with jake around. most of the time it was him eyeing you.. the other times? either random people you didnt know or.. well, uchinaga. you couldnt care less though.

you closed your locker after you got the things you needed. you decided to head to class early, maybe to just rest.. or to get away from the constant chatter that echoed the hallways. both? yeah, both.

once in the classroom, you were met with a few classmates you were somewhat acquainted with. not much, and by the first seconds of your entry, they seemed quiet. that was good. you quickly got to your seat to not disturb anyone as you got your phone out.

as time passed, more and more of your classmates entered—one of the classmates of which, being ning yizhuo. you were just staring out the window blankly before she sat down in her seat and tapped your shoulder, “hi, yn!”

“wh..,” you turned, “o-oh! hey, yizhuo.” you waved, just now noticing that the classroom was filled with much more noise than a few minutes ago. she gave you a friendly smile as you smiled back, but she already had her back turned to you.

as the teacher entered the classroom, just about everyone went quiet when he did. he did the usual, greeting the class as you and them did the same. he went over to his desk, entering a few things into his computer.

“so..i have a few things to announce, but firstly, and most importantly, is that we’ll be having a class project—

what? class project?.. you CANT be serious.. you thought, letting out a sigh of defeat once the words ‘class project’ were said.

—and it’ll be with a partner..” he looked around the classroom that was now filled with disbelief. “and no, you do not get to choose your partners, im choosing them. though, they wont be announced until tomorrow. today will just be the instructions and the topic of the project.”

the class was now obviously in a worse mood than before as the teacher went on about other notices. you slumped in your chair, fidgeting with your clothes’ fabric.

class project - the words you hated most. as you regained posture, you didnt even want know what was going to happen tomorrow.. but, it was bound to happen sooner or later. you had to accept your fate whether you liked it or not..
