Though it all comes down to how long it is brewed, the quality of the flowers and how long you let it steep." Long tangent about tea while he had been brewing a small pot on a tiny fire basin. The beautifully made teapot then poured the tea out in a perfect stream into the two awaiting cups that must have matched the set.

The cup passed over to the wanderer for him to enjoy. Something, maybe intuition, told Zhongli best to brew a more bitter tea for this young one.

A sweet tea wouldn't do.

"Bitterness usually equates medicine and many are never fond of taking it. Though sometimes a little bitter never hurt any, a small pucker of the face in the taste of bitterness should be welcomed once in awhile." Zhongli took his first sip of tea and of course it was bitter but not overly, the tea brewed just right.

Its because these are the people I had protected, guided, loved and cherished yet they don’t extend all those teachings to those of their own.

Rex’s heart ached that Xinyan, a child of Liyue, wasn’t welcomed in own home when it was just as much as her place anyone. Sure she had a smile and tried to not let it get to her but Rex saw it, saw the tiredness behind her eyes. Saw her biting her lip when things are obviously not fair.

Guess he was one for taking in the misfits.

Gently pulls her into a loving hug.

“It is my fault, I have failed you. No child of Liyue should ever feel unwelcome. I failed you...as your archon.”

No hesitation in wrapping his arms around Xinyan in a tight loving hug. Gives her the kind of hugs that you feel safe and secure while overflowing with the feeling of love.

Can’t help his parental sentiment and place a kiss on top of her head, one more loving squeeze before he loosens his arms but not letting go, in case Xinyan wants more hugs.

For dragons smell came first in terms of senses.

A dragon’s sense of smell was usually more keen than other creatures and illuminated beasts. Usually Rex smelled who was coming before even seeing them. Everyone had a distinct scent to them and there are few he won’t ever tire of.

Yve took a subtle but still noticeable sniff to his shoulder when tucking their face into the side of his neck after hugging. So surely they won’t mind Rex nosing along their temple.

In his long life Rex has met hundreds of parents and one thing all of them have in common is nothing can prepare you for parenthood. To be solely responsible for another living being that was entirely dependable on you, why it was a feat that piqued the interest of a god such as himself.

It was one of the few experiences he had to to engage in.

If his dear pyro flower was going to take a nap then he will make sure Xinyan is comfortable. Gently without stirring her Zhongli removes the spike hair clips. Brown hair falling from the ties and framing her face, Zhongli tucks some strands behind her ear so it’s not in Xinyan’s face.

Of course she was a little tired, having had a great performance at Third Round Knock that really knocked the socks off of everyone. Of course Zhongli was there to watch and encourage her, his presence did raise some eyebrows but already the gossip mill was working through the harbor. That the illustrious Zhongli was at a rock concert and enjoyed himself.

Will be talking praise about Xinyan for days to come.

Though the oni wished to never see him again it was nigh impossible not to run into each other in Liyue harbor. Of course amongst all of the watchful eyes in the harbor it be best not to draw attention. Yet here they were crossing paths on the bridge that led out of Liyue in the direction of Karst.

Rex already knows what is happening before Chongyun approaches and shows him. One never forgets the smell and taste of the air when it comes to karmic debt, a foul sour taste that makes even god’s hackles raise.

“Well there is regret they now remember the karmic debt, had wished they didn’t remember so they could continue living a blissful and peaceful life.” Karmic debt was like erosion intensified and really only a few can ever truly escape it’s clutches.

“I hope they will seek me out for aid in dealing with it.”

They have gone through so much before even arriving in Teyvat and then to have gone through more suffering, it just...was a lot.
