Arlo: So you're...a robot?

GL0R14: Why, but of course! I am GL0R14, the ministry's first marmilisation assistance robot, circa 2011!

Arlo: Huh... interesting.

GL0R14 (thoughts) : There's something different about this advocate...most likely nothing...but I'll keep a close eye on him, just in case.

recently, I've been working on some concepts for the whole 'Arlo disguises himself and goes undercover in the ministry of joy' thing.

Real time, this is around 2013, before the smiler is opened, but after it's begun to be built. The change in the area has disrupted oblivion, and this new force (the ministry) is frustratingly unclear in its intentions. So, Arlo (the gateway, at this time) is sent under the guise of being a normal human who wants to become an advocate. This is actually why Arlo has his name - a cover name was needed because The Gateway isn't an 'acceptable' human name.

Arlo was happy to take this job, and it took a week or two for the ministry to find out that Arlo was, in fact, not human. Actually, the marmilisation techniques used didn't work on him because...yk...he ain't human and all that. And he caused a bit of a stir before the truth was revealed.
