#dressed up like helpful advice#but meant purely to promote panic#and overconsumption#and generate waste#like the whole leftover rice thing everyone won't shut up about#like i understand that there is truth to it#safe food handling is important#and it's true that everyone should be wary of leftover starches#and the sicknesses you can get from them if you're not careful#but bitches are really like#'never reheat rice. throw it away IMMEDIATELY or youll DIE'#like babe no#you're encouraging people to be wasteful and fear things that are relatively fine#ive been eating leftover rice my whole life#and i aint ever gotten sick#and sometimes ive eaten things i absolutely should not eat#and i wouldn't have been surprised if i DID get sick because of it#i can agree with that and accept that#but i didn't get sick at all#because it's not black and white ya know like it's not a GUARANTEE that if you do one thing wrong youll get botulism and DIE#be safe but don't be overly cautious to the point that you're throwing perfectly good food away because some jabroni on tiktok told you to#im half convinced its a ploy to make people spend more money so daddy capitalism can thrive#don't be tricked
