Very important for him #Which results in a lot of things including just how fcking readable he is when he was a kid before he makes a bad decision #How his eyes flick with intention and tells in this snap decision way before he learns to be sweeping #He didn't like blindfolds for a very long time -- similar reaction to people getting touchy with his face #kid gets quiet and you can see the tension jerking in his jaw - plowing rigid lines into his shoulders (23 yr old agent mccree will bite u)#These days at 39 the older dog will probably fall asleep in one like its a sleep mask :skull:#He always knew to watch bc his parents taught him to watch - u had to watch and read the animals and u had to watch and read people #And then it was hypervigilance in his orphanhood - this scrappy cobbled together thing of sitting in corners near back exits and scoping #building to something pointed throughout his gang career and justified further by BW - utilized and weaponized #But at some point he stopped looking when it came to people he learned to trust (and looked in a different way; looked in a loving way)#And i am thinking of his return to overwatch and how that hypervigilance returns in a way he doesn't like towards ppl he dont want to be #that way with and how #They're fleeting tells - the way he favors his prosthetic arm towards walls - brief tension to touch -#watching (even in that lazy way of his) but still watching #He relapses in the desert - forgets and remembers both at once

Might just farm 4 pc new relic set with the BoL stuff and go with Atk%/PyroDmG/Crit.

As for weapons, I got Staff of Homeless, R5 Deathmatch and Primordial Jade Winged Spear, which I'll slap on her in case I lose the 5050 to get her weapon

i'm still stuck on 'who will pray for you / when your body is gone / this is the consequence for what you've done', i am not being normal about it at ALL. i need to talk more about how everyone in the occult scene knows that constantine is damned far beyond the help of even platitudes about going to a better place / achieving redemption, because like, how do you get leverage over someone like that? taunt someone like that? what's the worst you can do, send him to hell for all eternity? oh noooo.

and in his personal life, yeah, he's a punk and a brainiac and a fucking mess and an awkward loner craving connection, but i'm obsessed with the fact that when he's acting professionally, he radiates an absolutely soul-sucking aura of 'nothing left to lose'. he's masks on masks of personality and false bravado, but even at his most vulnerable, under every layer, all the way down to the core, his eyes are dead and damned. even people who've known him for ages know there's something off behind those eyes.

last thoughts of the night but. I keep asking myself why it's so hard for Eight to be in vanilla game romances, why any kind with any NPC feels doomed from the start, and I think it's because of his conviction and his devotion to a cause that ultimately supercedes him. until he fulfills that duty, he can never rest; again, it's one that would only ever be taken up by someone who is so far from a person that it's inconceivable to be done by anyone who wishes for a life beyond it. at the same time, he sees it as the only way he can become enough of a person to be able to have that peaceful life someday, yet it's the very thing keeping him from it. everything he is, he pours into purpose, a singular one so finely honed it is unrivaled. who could possibly join themselves to one who can never return home?

both he and jadus share this trait at transcending their previous lives in search of greater meaning but in turn, are forced to wander indefinitely on personal sojourns with no answer as to how long their journey will be or if they'll ever find what they seek. it's also a situation many cut loose from Intelligence or disillusioned by their own pasts find themselves in, where they have to ask what now?

in this case, the universe cannot answer them, and so they carry on.

#swtor #ooc #what *is* his duty you ask? ....it's complicated #it's becoming a person. but to become a person he has to find what he wants to protect most #to find that he has to fight in countless battles #to fight again means to remain a weapon #and so it is circular #i think. there's people he does finally come home to but these are other OCs who understand and break cycles themselves #but he will always be looking for the final piece to feeling whole after everything his life has been and he has no idea what it is #how can i be by your side if i remain as i am etc #THE DIVINE STATE OF EMPTINESS. whatever #it's like. he looks at someone else all the time and goes ah how could you possibly be anywhere or anything like me. i'm sorry #would you still love me if you know how far i had to go.
