Wow I can’t believe this is happening but Feline I kind of disagree.

For starters, I’m not saying BATB and Entrapdak are exactly one in the same or even that Entrapdak doesn’t have other things going on. Obviously, there are different plot points and stories between both couples.

However, in terms of how the “love” story developed, Entrapdak and BATB do have many similarities. Some that even surprised me rewatching the movie today. Here’s just a few:

Woman lives on the outskirts of town/society, focused on their passion and special intereste

Her peers find her odd and don’t take the time to get to know her despite her trying to explain her interests and hold conversations

“Beauty” has ND traits that those around her want to either ignore or shame her for

Woman wants to explore the world outside her environment and gets excited at the thought of someone finally understanding her and where she’s coming from

“Beast” mostly hides in his room sanctum away from the world and has a secret that makes him feel vulnerable thus he lashes out when anyone gets too close to him

“Beauty” is able to connect on a human level with objects and animals, which is a reason why she is able to connect with “Beast”

“Beauty” disobeys order due to curiosity and ends up in “Beast’s” private sanctum thus seeing him in a Venerable place, which upsets the “Beast” but eventually is the event that starts them getting closer together, as “Beast” feels comfortable opening up

Both “Beauty” and “Beast” see themselves as monsters/outcasts/defective and through their connection recognize that they’re both worthy of love and compassion and to be with someone that accepts them as they are let’s remember that Belle was never expecting for Beast to change into a “handsome” prince and legitimately seemed turned off at first

Like it’s definitely no surprise that when Entrapdak first came out, people were comparing it to BATB. Even Rae Geiger themself acknowledged and was happy with the comparison, drawing their BATB version of Entrapdak (which was 💖)

Of course, there are still differences and what I really like about Entrapdak is that it takes some of the problematic aspects of BATB and twists it in a way that’s not only better but more entertaining. But I definitely think it’s fair to say that BATB had a strong influence on the making of this couple

Entrapdak was just someone on Crew-Ra going “I want Beauty and the Beast but with aliens” and then actually made it. Good for them
