"Tonight, you're my drinking buddy and for the sake of the party, my Valentine." Peyton nods, affirming that she would absolutely be catching up with her soon. Despite the nature of their professional relationship, Anisa had become one of her closest friends, a woman she admired not only for her brain, but for her badass attitude too. "Monday, you can go back to being my resident and I'll deny all accusations of flirting with Mr Tall, Dark and Torres over there." Peyton grinned, averting her gaze to the dancefloor where Andrés was currently mingling. It was only recently that she learned he was her boss's brother; a fact she was not aware of when she initially agreed to go out on a date with him, but something that made it all the more exciting now. "Oh, this old thing?" She quipped playfully, spinning around in her dress that was bought last minute. "To tell you the truth, I'd rather be in my scrubs tonight." Valentine's Day was the last thing she wanted to celebrate given her the state of her current affairs of the heart. "If I were you though, I'd take advantage of a night like this."
There wasn't particularly a lot of people that Anisa enjoyed being around for prolong periods of time. In fact, she could count on one hand and most days, her niece was the only one to be counted on that hand. But Peyton had grown on her. She was smart, witty, and beautiful. She also had the same drive and passion and in Anisa's eyes that was always a win. She smiled at the blonde, "Maybe, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun. This is a party just as much as it is anything else. We can go back to being all serious on Monday." There could be a chance she'd regret saying that, but right now she was going to go with it. "You going to catch up later, right?" She asked, "I can't be the only one drunk off my ass. Plus, the last thing I want is for you to be sober and remember you had to take care of your boss." At her confession, Anisa couldn't help but smile. "Is that right?" She questioned, her brow arching, "You know what? Hell yeah." She'd much rather it be Peyton then some man anyways. "Why thank you, beautiful. You clean up rather nice yourself outside of a pair of scrubs."

At the hospital, they could avoid the topic entirely, preoccupy themselves with their patients, with rounds or drugs or hell, even cadavers. At Scorpion, there was no escaping the V-word. It was a significant theme, one that Peyton was trying desperately to ignore. "You know that I have a job to do here tonight, right?" She smirks in response, amused by the expensive bottle of liquor in Anisa's hand. It wasn't like the blonde to turn down a drinking session with her boss, but she still had a little more work to do for the foundation. "How about this? You get a head start for the two of us and I'll buy us a cocktail tree to share down in the basement later." Blue eyes meet the taller brunette's gaze, playfully biting on her lip when she confesses. "... since you're my Galentine and all. I might've listed you as my partner for entry later." As of late, Peyton didn't trust the opposite sex. Liam was the only guy she felt safe with, but it'd been a while since she'd seen him and given the nature of this particular event, she didn't feel it was appropriate to ask him. "You look beautiful, by the way."
OPEN STARTER
Fire and Ice
Fucking Valentine's day. When she was still escorting, this time of the year proved to be quite financially benefiting. So, then she could see around it. But since retiring from that life to become something a little more serious, she was faced with truly how dumb this holiday was once again. Grant it, when it came to her niece, she went all out on this holiday. More so to over compensate for the lack thereof during her own childhood. Sure, Valentine's day wasn't just about romantic love, but love in general, right? However, the only person that would benefit from her on such a manufactured holiday was her beautiful niece. But since this gala was less than kid friendly, she fully expected to treat it that way. She made her way towards a familiar face, a large smile on her face, as she held up one of the bottles she just stole from the bar. "Hey -- shots?" She asked, "If we don't start now, how are we supposed to properly enjoyed the upcoming fire part of this ridiculous thing?"
