SPONTANEOUS INTERACTIONS

Jack wasn't an early bird, but it's not like she could have gotten any sleep no matter how she'd tried. She'd been at it for hours now, fruitlessly tossing and turning amidst the makeshift bed she'd made in the engineering bay. Rolling as if she were one of the engines, perpetually in motion with no end in sight. She'd known it was early because she'd caught the sound of the shift change. The idle chatter and boots bouncing above and trickling down into her space.

It was never the sound that bothered her.

Still, she'd figured she may as well do something with herself before she unleashed on whatever poor soul wandered her way. So, amidst the moving crews, she slipped off the Normandy and meandered around the Citadel. Somewhere, Shepard was going about some business with… whoever it was. The name slipped the biotic's mind, but it wasn't like it'd mattered to her that much. Wasn't her mission to be on. Her mission was hers alone, and right now? It was getting something in her stomach and dropping by to check on other arrangements.

Which is how she'd found herself tapping her foot against the bottom of the elevator down to Val's lab. Her tapping stopped once the doors slid open, and she'd seen her newfound companion already at work.

"Mornin' Val. No rush." There was an airy nature to her voice; it was almost melodic. For having a miserable morning, she seemed to be in a better mood now. Seemed all it took was a bit of caffeine and some breath away from the crew.

"Dunno how anyone can roll out of bed and get at it like that. Props. Anyway, brought some coffee."

And some extra goodies, in case he didn't drink it dark. How thoughtful.
