if there was one thing that mal didn’t expect, it was to fall for their best friend. she’s known jay since they were little and it always remained platonic. pretty much platonic soulmates. until one day it just took a turn and here they are now. the way he tucked her hair and his touch lingered, her cheeks flushed into a rather pink color. quickly turning away as she tried not to become MUSH. “you know exactly what you’re doing and it’s not fair.”

Jay raised a brow at Chad, arms going to cross over his chest. "Oh really, is that so, Charming? Because I like to think I've won both." He puffed out his chest a little, pride taking over. "I'm on the Tourney and the R.O.A.R. team, got Lonnie on as captain of the latter, took the girl I wanted to to the dance, and helped my friends save Auradon not one, not two, but three times ..." Eyebrow raised further as smug look crossed his face. "What exactly have you won?"

"i know." jay says simply as he lays back onto the bed, not saying anything else as he searches for mal's hand - taking it in his and intertwining their fingers together. "it's why we're best friends, we're both the same amount of fucked up." he gives her a little nudge with his foot. "but i mean, i think it makes us kind of cool. kind of badass or something. like we've been through all this shit, but look at us. still here."

"Wait what?" Jay asked, looking to her with slight concern shooting across his face. "What do you mean? Running out of time for what?" He tried to wrack his brain for whatever she could be talking about, but he was coming up blank. He hoped he wasn't forgetting about something important, but he honestly couldn't think of anything.

"uh well ..." jay starts as he looks to mal, hands falling to the side and swinging back and forth a little. there's a sheepish look on his face. "do you want the short answer or the long answer? and either way ... would you be able to help me ... get rid of all this?" he asks as he gestures around the room and the mess that's been made of it.

jay gives a little shake of his head, rolling his eyes - but there's hints of a soft smile on his face. "thanks, mally, love you too." he then proceeds to pick up the apple and eat it.
