while they can make people disappear (as seen in the demo) they can't directly kill someone with, say, a heart attack or anything. they only send them elsewhere, so to say. it's a borrowed power. that's all i can say within the spoiler range lol.

they also can't affect people's free will. if those people in the cafe didn't want to follow the change in misfortune (as seen with the sense of forgetting something, the phone calls), they wouldn't be forced to. house possibly on fire? you don't need to answer that call, but wouldn't you feel compelled to?

anything that has to do with materializing or dematerializing something. no changing physical attributes either, they're not in control of the human physiology.

anything to do with so-called "teleportation". still gotta take a plane to the destinations with the humans, sadly. only shifting in and out of two different realms (or memories) for this celestial being.

a couple weeks ago , naomi utaura , formerly of nabillera , surprised everyone when she directly shaded her juniors , honeylemon.

although both nabillera and honeylemon are both respected figures in the k–pop inudstry and considered icons in their own rights , there's always been contention between their two fandoms , mainly regarded to as silly up until now.

fawn has officially announced her departure from myst.

after seven years with the group , it was announced today that fawn would not be renewing her contract with seventh heaven. instead , she's chosen to continue her thriving career as a soloist with the company's subsidiary label , halo music , under the management of esteemed producer ahn sojung.

this comes just eight months after the group returned from a two–year indefinite hiatus , although fans aren't necessarily surprised. rumors of tensions between the members have been flying since 2021 , when yumeko suddenly announced that she'd given birth. in the two years she promoted as a soloist , fawn's career took off and many noted that she didn't seem too thrilled to be with the group again to promote their comeback single better things last july.

nevertheless , she still included her former bandmates in the heartfelt letter she posted to her instagram today , writing , "thank you for being my sisters and sharing some of the best years of my life with me."

despite the kind message , all four of the remaining members of myst unfollowed fawn on instagram about an hour after the post was made. she later unfollowed them all , as well.

fawn , who's real name is darunee suwannarat , first made her debut as the main rapper of i.o.i in 2016 alongside her best friend yumeko , after placing seventh on the first season of produce 101. once i.o.i disbanded , she debuted once again with myst in 2017 , and began her solo career with the single snappin' in 2019. in 2022 , invu became her breakout song , winning her the title of best solo artist at the mama awards.

seventh heaven has confirmed that myst will go on with its four remaining members— lee eunyu , kitamura namie , shimizu yumeko , and lee haseul— for the time being and are set to comeback with a studio album in the third quarter of this year.

The area she had lived in was all mixed in with humanoids and animalistic objects, with most of the animals having to be servants.

Her boss was walking right behind her, making sure she 'did the job right' by watching her closely. It was freaking her out.

that satisfying moment when unintended things end up holding great weight.

truthfully, the surname kuragane came about because I wanted something that pivoted in a way that was acoustically pleasing into 'tsubaki', but was also poetic/abstract compared to her relatively common given name.

紅 (kurenai, beni, kou) – “crimson,” “deep red,” “vermilion”

鋼 (hagane, kō) – “steel”

reading 紅鋼 as 'kuragane' is a non-standard, poetic rendering.

the kun-yomi of 紅 is kurenai. however, in classical or poetic readings, kurenai has (albeit rarely) been contracted to kura.

the kun-yomi of 鋼 is hagane. the 'ha' is commonly dropped in compound words, leaving -gane.

while kuragane is not a conventional reading, it follows phonetic and historical logic making it viable as a poetic, antiquated, or clan-specific name. it's reminiscent of older samurai and aristocratic naming conventions, where kanji readings were sometimes altered for aesthetic or symbolic reasons . . . I think/hope.

the name's meaning was an ode to her shikai. a relatively backward way of doing things as one is not inherently connected to the other, but here we are.

that said, it's worked out interestingly.

as explained in previous drabbles: the kuragane are a morally driven, honour-bound clan of scholars. they prioritise the beauty of academics, art, poetry, and literature over bloodshed, and hold that education is more potent than the sword. that said, modelled after a sengoku-era samurai house, they are exceptionally trained martial artists in their own right. however, they adhere closely to a moral code shaped by the edo-period interpretation of bushidō: one that views the sword primarily as a tool of self-discipline, to be drawn only when dialogue and diplomacy have failed. thus, their contribution to soul society lies not in force, but in influence—they support systems of ethics, governance, and civil structure, and believe the seireitei should be guided by respect, reflection, and moral clarity.

I imagine the kuragane clan have been around for some 2000+ years. and so, given the butcherous and near-lawless state of the gotei 13 prior to the reforms following the quincy war a thousand years ago, it stands to reason they haven’t always occupied this space.

rather, I think the clan name crimson steel ended up being satisfyingly well placed: to be an ode to the fact the kuragane were once violent killers. still highly skilled combatants, what’s changed is not their ability but their philosophy. the name may now suggest discipline and restraint, but their legacy—like many noble clans—was forged in violence.

that I chose to model the kuragane after a sengoku-era samurai house was thematically intentional. the sengoku period, often called japan’s “warring states” era, was marked by constant conflict, fractured loyalties, and survival through force. it mirrors the clan’s origin: violent, sharp-edged, pragmatic. then, just as the sengoku period gave way to the edo era—an age of peace, unification, and moral reform where samurai were redefined as bureaucrats, educators, and moral exemplars—so too do the kuragane evolve.

four bby : brendol hux creates commandment's cadets, a secret society of handpicked infants, all raised to serve one goal : act as stormtroopers. brendol was inspired by the jedi's younglings. this squad, his child, and brendol himself would eventually move to observe the battle of jakku from the field.

one bby : the events of rogue one occur.

— a few empire loyalists recognize that the end of the empire is dawning before them. still loyal to the empire, still driven by the urge to rule, and as part of various contingency plans, they search for a planet beyond the rebel alliance's perspective and end up on jakku. among them are brendol hux, enric pryde and rae sloane. though without a name at the time, this would become the roots of the first order.

zero bby : the battle of yavin occurs. the death star is destroyed by the rebel alliance. it's known as victory day and eventually becomes a galactic-wide recognized holiday.

four aby : the battle of endor results in a ruined empire. the heroes of the galaxy rejoice, they party. all is well in the world. the party rages on for about three weeks, though the generals must balance their celebration with returning to work. leia organa worked closely with mon mothma to help bring stabilization to the galaxy in the form of the rebel alliance morphing into the new republic, a senatorial rule for the galaxy.

— han solo and leia organa are together, and in love. while he does occasionally dip his toes back into smuggling, he is quite busy working for the new republic in exporting goods, cargo, and people — displaced alderaanians, mostly. leia points, he goes. — luke takes time to mourn his father and eventually moves to create a new jedi order. he takes the task very seriously, making sure to read the old jedi texts, learning as much as he can about the previous jedi order and bettering what will become his new temple. luke is cautious, and dedicated to not making the same mistakes his forefathers did. there are several aspects of the old jedi teachings that he ignores : physical and emotional attachments make a jedi stronger, he believes, and anyone can train in the force. — luke begins to train his sister, leia, in the ways of the force as he knows how. she is strong in the force, dedicated, a fast learner, but ultimately does not accept the lightsaber presented for her. she’s pregnant, and knows that her destiny is going to lead her elsewhere. instead, she urges luke to actualize his dreams of a new academy for force sensitives, ushering in a new era of jedi. 

ten aby : luke skywalker settles onto the planet ossus and opens the doors of his new jedi temple. his first class is small, only sixteen force sensitives to his one. their ages all vary, as does their connection to the force. they’re all there by choice, not because of demand. luke looks onto his academy with pride and joy.

twelve aby : the empire loyalists, now tentatively known as the first order, have begun exploring and researching sith legends due to rae sloane’s fanatic impulses. they stumble across readings of an eldritch horror named snoke, perhaps the personification of the dark side of the force itself. his power is mighty, his reach long. aspirations of total rule begin to rise and the order aligns themselves with snoke, intent on awakening this power. 

fifteen aby : ben solo turns ten years old and his manipulation of the force is undeniable. he is strong, with the possibility of being stronger than his uncle luke, even. there is conflict within the boy, flipping moods faster than one can keep up with, an inner turmoil between doing the right thing and listening to his baser instincts. leia sends him to luke, to train. han disagrees, wondering if it wouldn’t be better for the boy to ignore the force overall. 

seventeen aby : the first order, small but determined, have shrunk even further in size. several empire loyalists have been tried and condemned before the new republic, and those who’ve managed to escape legal consequences refute the first order’s attempts at restructure. sloane, hux, pryde, and the few remaining members of the commandment’s cadets remain loyal to their dreams of an empire. their loyalty is rewarded when they find the remnants of snoke. he was in a cryostatic state, and sloane alone understood how to wake the monster. with strict instructions to hux and pryde about the resurrection of the first order, sloane then enacted an ancient dark side ritual — exsanguination of her whole self in order to revive snoke. the ritual worked, to an extent. snoke, the eldritch horror with cosmic collapse for eyes, awoke … though not at his full power.

— snoke was revived as an essence and lacked an actual physical presence, though that hardly seemed to stop the dark being. it’s manipulation of the force allowed him to become a powerful ally for the first order, though it of course demanded total loyalty. hux and pryde readily agreed, both recognizing the power before them was catastrophic. with combined instructions from sloane and their new supreme leader, hux and pryde began working on building the first order’s forces. 

eighteen aby : the first time ben solo heard snoke’s voice in his head was shortly after his thirteenth birthday. the boy would go on to struggle with those whispers for the rest of his life.

nineteen aby : using old contacts, pryde managed to secure sizable funding for the first order from old empire loyalists who were in hiding. it was enough financial support that the first order could relocate from exegol to the planet ilum — which, thanks to project resurrection ( a program in which first order forces would invade various small villages and towns on planets of the outer rim and kidnap infants to train as stormtroopers and officers ), was quickly repurposed and rebuilt into starkiller, the first order’s base of operations and first superweapon, capable of destroying entire star systems.

twenty - five aby : at twenty years old, with the promise of more knowledge and power than luke skywalker could provide, ben solo casted aside the light for dark. pledging himself to supreme leader snoke, the force in the back of his mind all these years, ben solo became kylo, a student of the dark, when he struck his uncle down. the jedi academy was torn apart, ben’s classmates given two choices : join, or die. of the sixteen original students, only five were spared with their lives. the rest died, and that was seemingly the end of luke skywalker’s jedi temple.

— word of the attack traveled fairly fast, though reports varied. the original general consensus was that the academy was attacked, luke and the students died defending their lives. it was only after ben solo, now declaring himself kylo, appeared before his mother on chandrila, during one the new republic senate meetings, and renounced the new republic, spurning it’s aspirations of peace. kylo then attacked the attending members of senate, accompanied by his peers, an ancient group called the knights of ren. leia and most members managed to survive the chaos, as the attack was not organized, but it was enough to unsettle the galaxy. 

twenty - seven aby : kylo and the knights of ren began to make waves across the galaxy as they stormed various planets, intent on hunting force sensitives. once found, the force sensitive was given two choices : join, or die. the knights left destruction and corpses in their wake and the new republic forces had, for the first time since the empire, an enemy to handle. however, as force sensitives around the galaxy were hunted, killed or converted, and with luke skywalker assumed dead ( leia organa refusing to give an affirmative either way ), there was seemingly and distressingly no hope of defeating the crazed dark siders.

at what point did yroh’a pick up dark knight during shadowbringers, and how did she initially feel about the experience?

first, it's important to explain that yroh'a's version of dark knight is different from the in-game dark knight job unlocked in ishgard. the dark knights of the first were highly few in number, and the origins of their art a mystery, but most served kholusia's resistance against the sin eaters - first under the leadership of zal'bard and then the late eulmoran general's son, ran'jit - as part of the sinbound.

among their number in the sinbound's twilight years was an elven man whose name was, like everything else, was lost to history. he served eulmore dutifully as a dark knight, but with vauthry's rise to power and ability to control the sin eaters, his loyalty was paid with his death.

in yroh'a's first visit to kholusia, as they were trying to locate alphinaud, they came across a decrepit suit of armor overgrown with grass and flowers. clutched in its hand was a deep purple, nearly black, soul crystal. upon picking up the soul crystal, their soul was immediately bound to it - and the last dredges of its former bearer still contained within.

grey the betrayed is yroh'a's job trainer. he is also the shard of haurchefant greystone. it is never clear if "grey" is his actual name, or simply what the shade came to call himself when awakened by yroh'a.

yroha, understandably, was kind of freaked out about having a ghost following her around - albeit an altogether cordial and almost warm one. grey differs fairly significantly from his counterpart in the source, but what absolutely didn't change was his devotion and passion. it didn't help, how much grey reminded her of said counterpart (even if they didn't consciously realize the two were reflections of each other).

they were less hesitant to take up the sword. anxieties and doubts about their capabilities had been building for some time, first placed by zenos and exacerbated by the scions collapsing into inexplicable comatose states one-by-one prior to their journey to the first. they desired a way to protect their friends, but more than that, they were scrambling to understand the flood of light and what it had done to norvrandt. shadowbringers flips the usual script of "light good, dark bad", and this was just as confusing to her as it might've been to the player. not to mention she was feeling some enduring Feelings towards hydaelyn that she hadn't really spoken up about ever since minfilia went to the first. grey, becoming a dark knight, all of these became the area in which she finally externalized her deep fears of inadequacy and failure, her perceived unfitness of being a hero, and the way she defined herself anew in the first.

This won't be an overly long headcanon nor introduction, and I'm not certain if he'll be used, but I find it worth introducing Hotaru's ex. One who... was decidedly not as bad as Sadao, but still wasn't very great. The long and short of it is that he was the last romantic relationship Hotaru had about three years ago in-story time.

Name: Yoshiaki Miyahara (佳朗宮原) - Name meaning "excellent, serene" and surname meaning "origin shrine/palace" Age: 38 (present) Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: ???? Height: 5'11" Build: Not someone overly muscular. A masculine frame in the most technical sense, but it's obvious he's an office worker who exercises and that's about it Complexion: Fair with cooler undertones Hair: Short and well-groomed. Dark brown, usually elegantly styled and carefully done Eyes: Hazel and generally regarded as welcoming with gold dustings in their depths Distinct features: Dimples when he smiles, scarred fingers, sometimes his irises seem like a haunting green when the light strikes them

I'll bullet the points here because this man does not nearly have the novel's lore that Sadao does

They met when Hotaru first started working at ESCAPE. He wasn't there for pleasure, but rather because he's a business associate of Koemi's. He occasionally handles some under the table legal work for her. It should be reiterated that ESCAPE is a largely over the table business, but the things that Koemi does on her own time aren't always strictly legal.

They ended up hitting it off very well. The relationship wasn't overtly toxic or tragic in the usual Hotaru vein of relationships. It was relatively stable in the sense that they went on normal dates and got along. Suspiciously, they never celebrated major holidays together and Yoshiaki was always ambiguous about any further commitment or where their relationship was headed.

Hotaru tried to press him for commitment and had even offered to quit the host club for him and return to medical school if Yoshiaki found what he did distasteful. Yoshiaki did not discourage him from hosting and seemed relatively alright with it.

Hotaru, against his better judgment, kept trying to push for more. It should be noted that Hotaru was 24 when they started dating and Yoshiaki was 35. This is not to say that it was necessarily... I'm sure you see what I'm getting at here. Hotaru was young and reckless and wanting more and seeking and out and change. He pinned a lot of his hopes on a stable, loving relationship onto Yoshiaki that it was suffocating in many ways.

Yoshiaki eventually broke the news to Hotaru that he was married, so he couldn't give him more. Hotaru had no idea but, again, because he was young and traumatized, agreed to remain Yoshiaki's mistress and promised that he wouldn't push him for more or ask for holidays together.

They continued their relationship for a few more months after that, going well over the year mark before Hotaru came to his senses and broke the relationship off. The final straw had been Yoshiaki making a comment that a relationship between men couldn't work in the long-term, and that he was grateful that Hotaru understood.

Hotaru broke up with him shortly after that comment and Yoshiaki was the final nail in the coffin and is the reason that Hotaru hasn't dated anyone in three years by this point in his narrative.

Yoshiaki, despite that, is a well-respected prosecutor. He and his wife recently got divorced. It's fairly ambiguous as to why he married her and that is absolutely on purpose. His sexual orientation and mental state are supposed to be difficult to discern.

He's someone who is often seen as reliable, intelligent, careful, and calculating. He comes from a long line of Janitors and Onmyoji, but didn't pursue that kind of work despite having the aptitude for it. Despite this, he can see yokai even when they don't want to be seen.

He has had some dealings with Tsugumi Mochida and is a legal contact of hers. Neither Tsugumi nor Hotaru know that the other knows Yoshiaki.

His favorite color is blue :)

was thinking about it and svatya 100% has an interest in olda; they were close friends before the arranged marriage between agnes and olda came about.

svatya getting pissy and hiding the sword that henry made because he's mad about the marriage, because of how he feels about olda, rather than about anything else. he did not think past making olda's father look bad; when henry points out that it'd be the blacksmith and henry that get in trouble first, he fully regrets his childish actions and immediately apologizes.

svatya is conflicted on how to feel. he wants his sister to be happy. but he also likes olda. and he liked him first. there is bitterness there. but directed at who ? probably just .. himself. the entire dynamic is so complicated.

svatya masking his worry for olda with annoyance towards him "acting weird and always disappearing into the woods".

when semine is burned down, olda loses his mother and his wife. svatya loses his sister. both lose so many people at semine, because at this point, svatya would also have been familiar with most of their faces, as he spent a considerable amount of time there to hang out with olda.

anyway. i really want to explore these two with someone.
