She was determined to get inside the abandoned house on the west side of Diamond City. Apparently, some guy had been living there for a while before randomly taking off, which meant there was a good chance it had some useful things inside, like food, or caps to buy food. Crouched in the shadows in front of the door, Carmen muttered and swore to herself as she struggled to see what she was doing in the murky darkness of the evening.

"Come on you piece of shit." She grumbled, twisting the bobby pin around carefully. She almost had it, could practically taste the food on the other side, feel the warm bed, hear the footsteps behind her—wait a minute.

Carmen froze in place, a solid shape in the shadows with only a sliver of light from the square below bathing her in a warm glow. Swallowing thickly, she looked over her shoulder, expecting to see one of the Diamond City guards with their damn bats. It wasn't one of them though, no, it was...what was he? A pair of glowing yellow eyes, a man missing parts of himself, white skin...was that skin? Slowly standing up, her back to the door with a posture that screamed 'cornered animal', Carmen stared the stranger down.

"You got a problem?" She asked tightly, hands balled into tight fists. Her eyes darted to the railing beside her, a flash of contemplation crossing her features. She could jump, take off into the alleys of the city and hope he didn't report her to the guards. It wasn't that far down, if she tucked and rolled...

I read in your rules you don't ship with Nick? Why?

[I’ve already answered it before, but I’ll give you the short explanation:

Nick’s got some heavy weight to lug around. Everything he is–his memories, name, actions–comes from another man whose everything was downloaded into him. He’s a copy. He thinks of himself as a copy. How can he make room for a relationship when he’s struggling with the reminders that he’s not even his own person?

I think he’d feel they deserve better, too, than a robot with the ghost of a pre-war cop in its head. He’s got a lot of things to juggle.

That said, I might lift it over time, particularly if the development is right between my Nick and another character, but there’s a lot on his plate as is. Hope that doesn’t deter you guys from interacting, though!]

soo you have a FC for Jenny but do you have a FC for Nick? Just curious!

[Actually, I don’t. I never really thought about a FC for Nick the synth ‘cause his being a robot/synth is integral to who he is. Never much entertained the thought of him being a gen 3, either. For the real Nick, I thought William Holden (an actor; here’s a pic and another [younger here but pretty nice shot]), but nothing solid. Just fleeting thoughts. Bottom line: nah, don’t have one. ): But that’s alright! Didn’t plan on it and I’m more than happy with metal Nick.]
