I thought it was about time I made this, just for some helpful links and other random stuff. It has a different layout and almost no pictures in comparison to the original FAQ because posts can’t handle the same functions that custom pages can, but it’s what I could do.
Like the reference master post, this post is subject to updates, if need be.

Hello!
Welcome to my blog! You can call me Kai. I'm a college student who loves to draw and write stories in my spare time. I have a passion for music, which I am currently studying at school. I love making people laugh and cheering them up, so I hope I can do a little of that for you!
While a handful of my ongoing projects are related to the Undertale fandom, this is pretty much a multifandom blog!  What those other fandoms are… tends to vary with whatever I'm interested in at the moment. I'm also a dedicated multishipper and a relative memelord, apparently. Thanks for stopping by!

>>> CHARACTER REFERENCE MASTER POST
(Already linked at the top of my blog on mobile, but here it is anyway.)
Tumblr media
► Greyscale (MAIN PROJECT) An alternate story taking place in the Undertale universe, where two humans with drastically different ideas on how problems should be solved end up in the Underground at the same time and have to work together to make their way through it. Also Chara is there. It’s a party. —> On a break while I work on other projects.
► The Legend of Underverse: Meme Waker Also known as Wind Waker Dreamtale (WWDT), a comic that parodies the Undertale fandom and Zelda: Wind Waker at the same time, featuring Nightmare and Cross as the protagonists. This comic is no longer in production.
► Isaac Beamer Versus the Supernatural Often abbreviated to IBVS, a story where various Undertale fandom characters are humans, have human names and go to a not-so-normal high school. Draws inspiration from shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Danny Phantom and Gravity Falls, while simultaneously making fun of everything I can think of. You can read it on Ao3. —> Updates irregularly.
► Driftverse An interactive story dedicated to Nightmare and Dream… except they’ve been combined into one person, and they have no idea how. Thus, they have embarked on an adventure over at @driftverse. —> On hiatus until further notice.
► (Project) Hopeless An original project in early stages of development. Creation? I dunno, I think the ‘early development’ term is only used for games. But then again… it is all just a game, after all…
► Dreamswap An ‘AU’ based on the Underverse story. It got its name from being centered around Dream and Nightmare switching roles. Other characters have also switched roles in unique ways. Dreamswap doesn’t have an ongoing story, however it is being reformed into an original story called Fable of the Fools. (The Dreamswap FAQ can be found here. However, it’s a custom page so it may not work on mobile.)
► Darkness Is Nicer Than It Seems (Darkness Dream) An open-ended alternate outcome where Dream gives up and joins Nightmare. Content regarding this setting may contain trigger warnings.

>>> MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS:
>> What software do you use to draw?
Clip Studio Paint.
>> What software do you use to make music?
Garageband. I could be using something better, but this is what's available, haha.
>> What languages do you speak?
English is the only language I’m fluent in. I know some words in a number of other languages but I can’t actually hold a conversation in them.
>> What are your pronouns?
I’m agender! I use they/them, mostly. Sometimes he/him for reasons, but if you don't know my personally, just use they.
>> What's your art tag?
#art closet. It's under construction, but I've been slowly and steadily attempting to add everything I've drawn and posted to it–with the exception of long ongoing comics. Those are tagged as #comics galore.
>> Can I roleplay as one of your characters?
You can roleplay certain characters all you want, but please don’t roleplay characters you don’t fully understand the characterization of. It would be really sucky if mischaracterizations got spread around. Please remember to direct people back to me as the original creator of the character!
Please do not roleplay characters from entirely original works of mine at this time.
>> Can I cosplay as one of your characters?
Of course you can!
>> Is there some way I can financially support you?
Behold, my Ko-fi! You can also commission me! Commissions are always open unless stated otherwise.
>> What do you think about NSFW?
Have at it, but please tag it carefully and correctly, and keep it out of the main tags.

My Top 10 Albums of 2019
Here we are again: my usual end-of-year ritual of returning to this blog and talking about my favourite albums of the past year. It's more of a self-fulfilling activity than one intended to be widely read, but if you're reading this then... thanks!
At the start of the year, I was sure that my favourite album of 2019 would come from either Vampire Weekend or Tame Impala - the two upcoming releases that seemed destined to be brilliant. For different reasons, neither even made my top five, with the likes of Foals, Bon Iver, James Blake, Solange, Nick Cave, and the Mercury Prize-winning Dave also missing out on the top ten.
Let's get to the ones that made it...
10. Helado Negro - This Is How You Smile
I'll confess to not having heard of Helado Negro before this year, despite this being his sixth full-length album. Real name Roberto Carlos Lange, he grew up the son of Ecuadorian immigrants in South Florida - an upbringing that is inextricable from his sound and lyrics. TIHYS is simply beautiful to listen to; awash with delicate vibraphones and strings, and accented by Lange’s soft, humming vocals. He switches between English and Spanish regularly, and the album flows like a film soundtrack, giving you a glimpse into the life of Hispanics in the American South.
Highlights: ‘Please Won’t Please’, ‘Running’, ‘Pais Nublado’.
9. Big Thief - Two Hands
If you asked me to name my artist of the year, it would be Big Thief and truthfully it’s not even close. Two Hands was the second outstanding record the band released this year (more on the first later) and saw them return to the crunchy indie rock of their earlier work. It’s not often that an album this good is only the second best thing a band produces that year, and in some ways there are greater individual tracks here (’Not’, ‘Forgotten Eyes’) than on their previous album. There might not be a more in-form rock band in the world right now.
Highlights: ‘Not’, ‘Forgotten Eyes’, ‘Two Hands’.
8. Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride
All the build up to this album suggested it would be an all-time classic. The lead singles were all brilliant, and everyone seemed convinced they would be just the tip of the iceberg. In a way they were right - tracks like ‘Unbearably White’ and ‘Bambina’ combined all the beauty and bite that VW have become known for. But there’s a lot of filler amongst the gold here; it’s 18 tracks, inside of which is hiding a really excellent 10-track album. It’s still one of my favourites of the year, but somewhat frustrating that Koenig and co. got in their way in its structure and release.
Highlights: ‘Harmony Hall’, ‘This Life’, ‘Unbearably White’.
7. Clairo - Immunity
Claire Cottrill, better known as Clairo, has been on the radar of young music fans for a couple of years already; a bedroom YouTube sensation since her 2017 self-release ‘Pretty Girl’ garnered more than 40 million views on the platform. For her debut LP Immunity, she enlisted the help of producer Rostam Batmanglij, formerly of Vampire Weekend. As such, the album features a much more polished, studio sound than the lo-fi pop of her viral videos. But on tracks like opener ‘Alewife’, a brave song detailing Cottrill’s suicide attempt and the friend that thwarted it, the production takes her sound to the next level. The album tails off towards the end, keeping it out of my top five. But there’s no doubt that Clairo has truly arrived as an indie pop star.
Highlights: ‘Alewife’, ‘Bags’, ‘Sofia’.
6. Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell
This one has topped a few lists I’ve seen and while I think that’s a little too generous, there’s no doubt it represents LDR at her absolute peak. Lana’s style hasn’t changed dramatically since she broke through in 2011 with ‘Video Games’. But the significance of her songs’ subject matter and their arrangement certainly has. She has reached a point in her career where she’s confident enough to include the 10 minute-long epic ‘Venice Bitch’ alongside her always-captivating piano ballads. She takes digs at Trump on the opener and title track, before exploring her own mental health and success as an artist on tracks like ‘Mariner’s Apartment Complex’ and ‘The Next Best American Record’. She’s some songwriter, and this is her at her best.
Highlights: ‘Venice Bitch’, ‘Mariner’s Apartment Complex’, ‘The Greatest’.
5. Big Thief - U.F.O.F.
I’ve written about Big Thief’s prolific year earlier in this post, so I’ll try to avoid repeating myself. As good as Two Hands is, U.F.O.F. feels like the band have found their final form. From the moment a minute from the end of opener ‘Contact’ when a scream pierces the soft, folky tune, it’s clear that the band have kept the fine indie rock elements of their sound and blended them with their newer, folk aesthetic. There’s everything you could want from an indie folk album here: acoustic ballads (’Orange’), soft rock gems (’Open Desert’) and upbeat foot-tappers (’Strange’). And on top of these sit Adrianne Lenker’s unique, fluttering vocals and a production that gives the whole record an amazing warmth.
Highlights: ‘Cattails’, ‘Strange’, ‘Jenni’.
4. Sharon Van Etten - Remind Me Tomorrow
SVE has been threatening to release an album like this for years. Her previous album, 2014′s Are We There, was critically acclaimed and featured her finest individual tracks to date. In the five years since, she’s taken a step back from making albums and turned to scoring films instead. She also became a mother. All this has led to an album that fizzes with a sort of production she’s not used before, and a series of emotional, honest songs that paint of picture of a woman in a peaceful moment of her life - having previously experienced much turmoil. It’s an album that relies more on the piano than the guitar, and yet has produced the finest rock anthem of the year in the sublime ‘Seventeen’.
Highlights: ‘Comeback Kid’, ‘Stay’, ‘Seventeen’.
3. Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising
Another female singer-songwriter that has been on the scene for a while but is finally putting all the pieces together. Natalie Mering’s fourth album is undoubtedly her best; a soaring ode to life, death, and the universe. She sings about the stars on ‘Andromeda’, departed friends on the heartbreaking ‘Picture Me Better’, and movies on... ahem... ‘Movies’. It’s an ambitious array of subject matter, but it’s tied together by an echoey, dreamy production that makes listening to it feel like you’re floating in space (or under water, as the cover art suggests). The arrangements are stunning too, with focus given to Mering’s vocal harmonies and competing slide guitars alongside the ever-present synths.
Highlights: ‘Andromeda’, ‘Something to Believe’, ‘Wild Time’.
2. FKA twigs - Magdalene
It’s been an extraordinary year for female singer-songwriters (seven of my top ten fall into this category) and Twigs might be the best of the bunch. It’s been five years since she broke onto the scene with ‘Two Weeks’ and her Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, and in this time she’s released another stellar EP and experienced a high-profile relationship with actor Robert Pattinson. Her style remains much the same, though still utterly unique in the music world, and is still both a joy and a challenge to listen to. On Magdalene, she’s enlisted the help of a host of producers and DJs including Nicolas Jaar and Skrillex to create a record full of electronic beats that dance alongside her breathy, ethereal vocals and delicate piano melodies. The results are, in a word, magnificent.
Highlights: ‘Sad Day’, ‘Mirrored Heart’, ‘Cellophane’.
1. Michael Kiwanuka - KIWANUKA
I had a hard time separating the top two this year, but I’ve gone with KIWANUKA. Michael Kiwanuka was tipped for greatness from day one, when he emerged as a shy folk singer in 2012. His sophomore record, Love & Hate, saw an eye-opening expansion in his sound, and it’s this sound that he’s polished and perfected on his latest effort. Where Love & Hate was sprawling, almost uncontrolled and teeming with ambitious experimentation, KIWANUKA is both expansive and measured. Tracks flow into each other, straddled with newsreel clippings and interludes that inform the wider themes of race and self-purpose. Kiwanuka seems to have realised his position as a successful, black, solo musician, and readily confronts this on songs like ‘Hero’. As an entire record, it’s the closest thing to Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On I can remember ever hearing, and I can’t give it a bigger compliment than that.
Highlights: ‘Hero’, ‘Final Days’, ‘Solid Ground’.
If you’re interested, you can listen to a playlist of my favourite songs of the year here. See you this time next year...

11/30/17
4 years 4 months later…
I drove home on the 405, singing to The Beach Boys "Barbara Ann" like an asshole, alternating on the harmonies. I’ve been singing along to this song since I graduated from Maui High School (Class of '98 brah!) and I always get swept up in the happiest of memories. The Beach Boys are laughing while they’re singing, totally unprofessional. Musicians trying to be funny...when will they ever learn? There's a time and place- when you're in the studio performing, you BE PROFESSIONAL!
So what do you guys think I should write about?
I’m happy now because I hit two mics and I had fun at both of them. I feel good about what I’m doing. I occasionally THINK that and then some miserable mic sets me back a thousand years and I don’t know shit all over again. Wait, I think I just figured this- SMACK! I’m starting to get comedy now-WOMP! Last year I didn’t know dick, this year, I finally found my voi-BLOPFUK!
I’m becoming more and more relaxed, putting hundreds of hours of bombing in. Keeping my expectations low, trying to have fun and BE GOOFIER. Trust myself to be more spontaneous and not just saying the words that are over-rehearsed, trying to find new words to paint the picture. Then occasionally phoning it in, but acknowledging it, like when you stray away from meditation with distracting thoughts. Now Marty, take a deep breath and just get back on track when you can...you dildo. You can look up that classic Sesame Street clip AFTER you’ve finished your meditation. You can try to tell your joke in a fresh way at the next mic. Now visualize your dick jokes slapping across the street like a game of Frogger…
Sometimes I’m so desperate for approval of a new bit I’ll ask Claire to watch me. It’s usually pretty painful, but she’s a good gauge of what’s godawful or she’ll see the potential in a bit and try to contribute. Then I’ll shut her down real quick because who’s the comedian here, right? I really think she believes in me (because she told me she believes in me, in those words) but sometimes I just want another comic to say "Hey good joke!" preferably someone with a Laughs on Fox credit.
Years have gone by and someone I’ve admired all this time is on the same show and we finally exchange pleasantries. No ego, just hey- we were on the same show! You’re pretty great. Love what you’re doing. Now you say it back to me. SAY IT BACK MOTHERFUCKER, I JUST SUPPORTED YOUUUUUU (falls into abyss, tongues of drunken audience members wagging and stabbing my mid-section)
I see those late night, sentimental “I love comedy” posts on Facebook every once in awhile and I can feel the cynical cesspool of backlash forming a giant tidal wave, but I totally get it. I had a night like that tonight. I have nights like this at many open mics. It’s friends, it’s the few people that are suddenly looking up at me, who were buried in their laptops a minute ago. It’s a hug from a comic that I love, or some rapid-fire joking going on outside in a semicircle of idiots. Being around funny people. Standing alone at an open mic that I’m dreading and suddenly finding that one person- a friend. They have my back with the perfect line that triggers a bark of laugh out of me, because it’s also relief. It’s gonna be okay because I can still hang with this fantastic funny person.
I got paid for some impossible bar show. I wasn’t told in advance and when I finished my mostly silent set I got a handful of bills. Mostly pesos and a farthing, but it’s amazing to get paid when you’re not expecting it. Now if only I could win some tickets to a Flappers show! (get yer jabs in ya cynical fuck, don’t get too sentimental Feelie Dan!) One comic offered me his hotel room for the night because he wasn't going to use it. Almost made me cry- the room was a shithole!
I think our cat is out of the woods. Tune is napping in front of the heater, thanks for asking. Claire is gently snoring in the bedroom, I assume. She doesn’t snore loud enough to penetrate two doors. Now the cat is lapping water from a jar- one of my favorite sounds in the world. Oh yeah, the Patreon thing is kind of funny. I have 6 subscribers, but I’m enjoying making the videos- kind of a video journal of some open mics I’ve been visiting for the first time. A video review of the mic and some random interviews, testimonials, etc. If you can’t get enough of the open mic bullshit and you’re curious it’s $2 a month to join.
My Patreon
We can’t end this journal entry on a plug though, that’s pathetic.
It’s nice to have a new family of friends in this strange world, but then I remember my friends from acting school or the people I knew through the Geffen or Arclight. Years are going by. Marriages, break-ups, babies, health scares and the occasional tragedy that affects us all. I’ll hear a song or see a clip from some project that brings those people swirling back in my head- oh yeah, there are other people you love too. Maybe I should give them a call. See one of their shows. Stop by for a visit. Finally introduce myself to their ten-year old baby.
I get asked,
“How’s the comedy going?
I usually ramble for a few minutes about the intense highs and lows, desperately trying to make sense of it all and it all sounds absurd saying it out loud, like I’m lying to their face!
You gotta bomb? You gotta do shit mics? You gotta write? Network? But what about the comedy special?
I always manage to squeeze in that one overly sincere declaration of,
I’m in this for the win.
I mean it. Sure I’ve FLIRTED with quitting in my head, but it’s because I’ve been on vacation and it can feel especially troubling going back to a mic after a week of no stage time. It rarely happens and when it does I feel sad. Yet it gets harder to go back for some reason. I never seriously considered quitting. I made a feature film in 2007 because I told myself I could do it. I never said My movie will get distribution. It kind of fizzled out after the completion thing.
But I can do this. I am a comedian. I do other stuff, but if you’re interested we can always talk about it.
Don’t forget the patreon thing. Come see a show- check my dates at Martywurst.com. I have Dvds of my short films, ask me and I’ll give you one. TheWurstTweet on Twitter. Search me on your podcast app. Find me on YouTube. Open Mic Reviews on Instagram or Marty Wurst for my regular pinups. I have old movie reviews on FirstShowing.net. My website has a Steve Buscemi voicemail. I’m in a shitty movie called Death Valley: The Revenge of Bloody Bill. I sang to Jennifer Connelly at a press junket for Blood Diamond. My Google search is pretty great. I made a movie called Salivate- you can’t find it anywhere. I have two audiobooks on Audible- Dark Sanity and Zombies in Love.
Oh and here's that Sesame Street clip.

The truth about my Behind The Scenes
Hello again! It’s been a while since I haven’t been posting in the blog and for few months I even disappeared from social media too… So I thought the best way to come back would be by sharing the truth with you, specially the truth about my Behind the Scenes.
Many of you already know that a year ago I felt in love with Mohamed and I went to live with him in Morocco. What most of you don’t know is the real truth about my Behind the Scenes. And the reason why you don’t know it, is because I was hiding it from you Sorry…
The fact is that Mohamed is Amazigh (also known as berber) and he lives in a very small house with all his family. They are located in Amzerou, a super small town next to Zagora, the biggest city near the Sahara desert in Morocco. Living here for a year has been tough for me. That’s the truth. But I don’t want to focus this post in the lifestyle, I just want to explain you how it has been affecting my job.
No table
The first thing you need to know is that I don’t have a studio here. I don’t have a room to work because there’s only one room in all the house, and we share it with the whole family. We are currently 10 people living in the house, and some days we are almost 15. Also, the money is limited so we just keep it for food and some new clothes when needed. That’s why we never bought a table and a chair for me to work. I would feel horrible to buy this kind of stuff… First, because there’s no physical place to put it, so I would be taking away space from them. Second, because I know they would not understand how I can buy furniture instead of important living needs such as food or clothes. So… here it comes the truth: for the past year, I’ve been working with my laptop over my legs or – when is too hot – in a small coffee table, sitting with a pillow in the floor.
No natural light
Another fact is that their traditional houses tend to be built with small windows, I guess to protect them from the burning sun of the desert. This, for me, is a huge handicap. As you know, all my pictures (specially in my Instagram feed) tend to have white backgrounds and be very bright. That is impossible to achieve inside this house, so I need to take the pictures always outside.
Painting
When it comes to painting, I use the small coffee table as base for my papers. But they don’t have many tables in the house, so I share it with the eating table. When we finish breakfast we take out the tea and food from the table and set up my painting tools. Since I like to have natural light when painting, I need to paint outside. This is hard specially during summer season, because temperature here rounds 50ºC so I need to paint before 11:30AM aprox. It’s kind of discouraging sometimes to not be able to paint if inspiration comes later than noon…
  Pictures
Taking pictures has been such an adventure here. I asked Mohamed to help me, to take some shots from me painting or even do some videos. It’s funny because at the beginning all his pictures were moved or out of focus. Now he is becoming an expert and he will even sell his picture online soon But the hardest thing was the “Instagram look”. We all are used to perfectly clean pictures with nice backgrounds and cool attrezzo, but the reality here is that I don’t have any of that. The walls of the house are still showing the concrete and sand used for its construction, and same for the floor. Few months ago we bought a white fabric which we put every time I paint to use as background for my pictures, but it easily gets dirty and still isn’t my favorite background… That’s why lately you can only see close ups of my paintings, because I tend to cut off everything around it to not show the reality.
Internet
Living in such a small town means being years away from the new technology that we are used to in our hometowns. Here, young people has smart phones and only need internet there. They watch movies in Youtube and chat with WhatsApp. But nobody has internet at home. This was impossible for me. I need internet for my job as graphic and web designer, and although the first month I was connecting always from my phone, I needed a better solution. So we went to the only company offering ADSL in Zagora and we got a contract with them. Connection is VERY BAD. Almost every day shuts down at some point. When it rains or is windy outside we loose it, plus it’s even slower than 3G… It has helped me a lot to work on my patience (which is not one of my best qualities), but some days (and nights) I just end up crying. The worst problem comes when I need to send files to my clients or when I want to upload new designs to my online shops, like mock-ups and watercolor clip arts in Creative Market or textile prints in Patternbank. Files that weight around 300MG take like 10 minutes to upload from Barcelona, but here usually take all day or all night (around 10 hours). No kidding!!

Concentration
One of the hardest things I’ve lived during these months is about concentration. Being so much people in such a small house, plus counting that many of them are kids, makes silence a precious gift. I usually can work with music, TV or any distracting noise around me. But some days here are hard… Plus, few months ago I decided to take a big step and start recording videos. I was afraid of recording myself and that meant a lot to me. Now I’m starting to see some success in my youtube video about how to design patterns with Photoshop and I’m motivated to continue making more tutorials. But honestly I can’t find the right moment and place to do it. For the past weeks I’ve been recording videos right after waking up, while Mohamed is still sleeping. But because we don’t sleep in the same house as the others (again, that’s part of another story…) I need to carry every night my laptop, charge my phone card with Internet and calculate the Megas I have to record the videos connecting my computer to my phone. Plus, I do it before taking breakfast (which for me means being a zombie).
I need to carry every night my laptop, charge my phone card with Internet and calculate the Megas I… Click To Tweet
Temperature
I’ve always been much better supporting hot weather than cold. But temperatures here in the desert are extreme. Air conditioner is a luxury we are far away from having (before that we still need to figure out how to have hot water, a normal shower, etc…). So picture myself sweating like a crazy right now while I write this post. That’s reality for me hahaha But I don’t care that much about it. What worries me, and what I want to talk to you about is how hot (and dry) weather affects electronic devices. Last year when I came here in July, my computer was just 6 months old. And you can’t imagine my face when I saw how slow it was running or the noise he did just for editing a big file… I freaked out. I thought it was broken. But then I understood it. It’s just the weather. It heats the machine so much that the poor computer can’t work properly… All of it burns, I feel I’m cooking my hands while working sometimes hahaha And same happens with the phone… Luckily, during winter everything goes back to normal!
Conclusion
Although you may be surprised with many of the things I shared today here, I don’t want you to miss concept me. I’m not writing this as a negative post. I don’t want you to feel pity for me. I’m super happy here. I found love, and that’s one of the most important things for me. I found someone who cares a lot for me, who lets me take care of him too, someone with whom I connect and I can share all my creativity. Someone who wants to spend the rest of his life with me and with who we can do plans together and live adventures such as this one with a positive mind. I’m happy, and that’s all what matters. But is also true that for all those reasons I tend to avoid telling the truth of where I am. I was afraid of loosing potential customers if they think I can’t do my best in this situation, which is not true. It may be harder for me but I haven’t missed a deadline and if I have to be awake all night waiting an email to be sent, I do. And Mohamed does with me. I was also afraid of loosing IG followers if my pictures weren’t pretty enough. But the truth has ended being that I lost engagement because I disappeared for the past months from social media… so, then it came to my mind this idea: Let’s be honest, let’s be real and share my reality with anyone who feels like reading Here you have the whole truth, now you can understand better what’s going on in my personal and specially in my professional life.
Wish it wasn’t too boring for you… For me, it’s a huge adventure. And since I always wished to live in many places around the world, I feel I’m already living my dream. Now I know how is it to live in a poor area without luxuries that until now I thought were common things (such as shower, supermarkets or beds). And that, for me, means happiness…
To wrap up, I would love to open this post for comments. Here you have some questions: – What can’t you live without? You know my answer (Internet). – Are you currently facing some handicaps in your daily life that affect your work? – How are you facing them?
Can’t wait to hear your experiences too. I’m sure it will help us a lot to share & support each other
