In Jessamy’s preRaven life, she wasn’t human. She was fay.
#jessamy the raven#sandman headcanons#…I’ve seen ‘jessamy was Dream’s (main) Raven for 1k years’ floating around but not really a source?#anyway I like it. but her name feels a bit…modern for a 1k yr old Raven unless she changed it. possible.#OR a ‘time in the dreaming isn’t always linear’ which is comics canon#(for at least some regions of it anyway. Jessamy could ‘timetravel’ as well)#but. well. Dream adores the fay. so mucy so he’s in a FOUL mood that they’re leaving#(in addition to carrying humanity’s collective Dread about the black death + upheaval) when he meets Hob#and ditches Hob to Inspire Shakespeare to write A Midsumer’s Night Dream (and probably Hamlet) as a goodbye gift for the fay#and makes Gault’s Dream Form into a fairy#(heck! Dream not ever giving Hob his name? very little personal information?
