So, I’ve finally seen My Hero Academia season 2
The bad news: Deku’ internal monologuing could still fill Encyclopedia Britannica, and Bakugou is still the dickest dick that every dicked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The good news:
...well, pretty much everything else.
Tumblr media
So, I’ve stopped watching MHA 2 about a year ago, because of how annoyingly long the tournament arc was. And... well, it didn’t get shorter, that I can tell you. I think it could be easily condensed without me having to have flashbacks to DBZ and the length of their battles.
Also, Midnight
Tumblr media
If the show says that “this costume should come with a warning”, you know it’s problematic amazing.
Tumblr media
However, it also gives us several important plotpoints and lots and lots of character development.
For start, Ochaco truly is the best gril(TM) and she needs to be protected at all cost. She is trying to do her pro-hero work for her parents, and in turn, they are phenomenally supportive, especially when she loses. This is how you do parenting.
Tumblr media
Speaking of parenting and how to NOT do it, Todoroki and his father, Emboar.
Tumblr media
His arc was a very interesting dive into the harsh reality of arranged marriages, and how would they work in quirk-filled world. And honestly, it was brilliant. Heart-breaking, complex, and painfully real. Thus, Todorki’s decision to focus only on his mother’s quirk was a testament of his willpower.
Tumblr media
And from the end of the tournament arc onward, the episodes are nothing but amazing.
Tumblr media
Reblog if you also want to study quadratic equations in Momo’s mansion
The apprenticeship episodes were mostly humorous. It was hilarious to see Izuku training with retirement Yoda, Bakugou suffering under the hair stylist, Momo and Itsuka... uh... doing something for the model pro-hero, and the like.
Tumblr media
Do or do not. There is no...thing in the fridge, so you better go shopping now.
Tumblr media
KILL ME.
Tumblr media
OKAY, HOW IS HER BOOB WINDOW ACCEPTABLE I MEAN MIDNIGHT HAS A WHOLE BOOB SACK IN HER OUTFIT AND SHE WHIPS HER WHIP EVERYWHERE AND THAT CAUSES AN UPROAR BUT MOMO JUST SLIT HER OPEN AND IS LIKE YEAH, THIS WILL DO.
PANTS TO BE DARKENED!
ALSO THERE IS AN ACTUAL TALK-SHOW IN ONE EP WHERE THEY DISCUSS REVEALING OUTFITS. WHAT THE FUCK AM I WATCHING.
The Hero Killer arc is when shit gets serious, and we have another powerful character development: Tenya’s. The damage done to his brother changes the law-abiding, model student and forces him pretty much go rogue after the villain. And the four-way battle between Stain and Tenya, Izuku and Todoroki is a stuff of legends.
Tumblr media
But so are the consequences: The show portrayed very realistically how the villains might want to twist people’s view on superheroes. And yes, villains, plural, we have more than one group of them, scheming against each other as well as heroes.
Tumblr media
- Would you like another shot of vodka, Facepalm? - THAT’S NOT MY NAME AND YOU KNOW IT
We also learn about the history of One-for-All an-
Tumblr media
OH JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE FUCK SHOW HAVE YOU NO MERC-
-d its opposite, All-for-one. Very poetic and apt: two ultimate quirks that represent selfishness and selflessness, giving and taking.
The final exams arc is amazing too. Unlike the tournament one, where we saw the characters competing against each other, here they fight together, and these battles are marvels to behold, from start to finish.
Tumblr media
Especially Momo and Todoroki’s exam, that was probably my favourite due to their ingenuity, as well as showing their insecurities they had to overcome.
Tumblr media
Also this:
Tumblr media
I am going to kill all of your family and I will smile all the way and sing campfire songs while I tear their limbs apart :D
And of course we got more shipping between these two ultimate dorks.
Tumblr media
JUST GO TO HIM KISS HIM AND MARRY HIM AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER HOW IS THIS DIFFICULASASFDSGAQSWASFADSGASGHDAS
But the future looks grim, and nothing encapsulates it more than Tomura’s fingers closing around Izuku’s throat in the last episode.
Tumblr media
And damn if that didn’t hype me for the next season.

France call up Guendouzi for injured Pogba

Mark Ogden evaluates the current squad depth, who are the leaders within the team and what United are missing.

Alexis Nunes is joined by Julien Laurens and Mark Ogden to address the reasons why Tottenham Hotspur have had a horrendous start to the Premier League.
France head coach Didier Deschamps has replaced injured Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba with Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Pogba suffered an ankle injury during last weekend’s 1-1 Premier League draw away at Southampton, while Guendouzi helped to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby assisting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s equaliser in a fightback from 2-0 down.

Speaking at a news conference at Clairefontaine on Monday afternoon, Deschamps initially refused to rule Pogba out and revealed he was undergoing tests in Manchester, but has since confirmed Guendouzi’s call-up to the senior squad via Les Bleus‘ official Twitter account.
“Paul has an ankle problem,” Deschamps said at the time. “He is currently undergoing exams in Manchester and I am waiting for the results. If he were already unavailable, then I would say.”
Guendouzi, 20, has worked his way up from under-18 to under-21 level with France and only made the step up to the Premier League in the summer of 2018 when he moved to Emirates Stadium from Lorient in France’s Ligue 2.

As well as Pogba and the likes of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, Deschamps had to rethink his initial plans to select Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte so recalled Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, and has granted Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane a few extra days because of dental issues at short notice.
“I spoke with Aymeric to get his news,” said Deschamps. “I will not go into details. I have no problem with Samuel and we also had a chat.
“The question was raised when I made my choice, but Aymeric got injured, so Samuel coming back was logical. His situation with Barcelona has not changed, though — he is not playing but he is in good condition.
“Raphael needed emergency dental work in Madrid earlier. If possible, he will join us on Tuesday evening. Otherwise, no later than Wednesday. He does not need to be replaced.”

Deschamps was also quizzed on goalkeeper Alphonse Areola and made clear his concerns regarding the PSG man’s loan move to Real Madrid until the end of the season to create space at Parc des Princes for Keylor Navas.
“I will not pass comment on PSG’s decisions,” Deschamps said. “What I know is Alphonse has always answered the call for us.
“He will be No. 2 with Real. Will he play a little, or not at all? I do not know. If he does not play at all, obviously it could become a problem.
“We will see between now and the October international break.”
France face Albania and then Andorra in a Stade de France doubleheader during this international break.
