At the thought of him and Tsukishima being Cinderella’s, he couldn’t help but sweat and exclaim “Gah!” at the mental image of them in rags.
“Uh…I guess so…”
Tsukishima was a hard worker to earn money for the things she wanted and as for him, his mother was deceased, and he had to tend to household chores because of living on his own…
Taiga’s expression returned to his default grumpy one when he replied “…I don’t really have much friends. I’m used to it.”
Taiga had become a lone tiger when his former teammate assumed he was bored by Japanese basketball and so he had given up on making friends.
He usually went outside to go to school, go to practice, go to the gym (although there wasn’t much of a need for that recently), shoot baskets, do groceries so it wasn’t like he stayed at his apartment the entire time on any given day.
“This? I’m used to it. Sometimes the store would send someone to help me cart the ricebag home but not all the time. This has pretty much become my work out.”
“That’s a pretty weird workout,” Haruko considered with a hum. “But as long as it works I guess...”
She kept walking by Kagami’s side silently, pondering on his words. Not much friends, huh? She knew the feeling; she too was new in the city, and if it hadn’t been for her part-time job, she would have felt pretty lonely too. Instead, they had given her a chance to meet new people, so she could feel less isolated in such a big, new place. She was surprised Taiga hadn’t managed to get some company too. After all, he was in a sports club.
“Well, now you have a new friend,” she offered with a grin. “Sometime, I can pop by after my work shift, bring you some nice leftovers from the restaurant, and we can watch a movie together! So you feel less lonely!”
She was so caught up in her good intentions the fact that this could sound dangerously close to a date offer litterally flew over her head.
“By the way, which one of these is your house?” She asked, giving a curious look around as they turned the corner.
