Hello there friend! I know you said you're not satisfied with it, but I wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your Jaime painting! On a similar note, if it's not too much work for you, would you mind sharing your experiences with krita? I've been using (and struggling with) it for some time, and I honestly can't tell if it's because I am stupid or because the program is, so I'd love to hear about other people’s experiences with it.
to me krita was a bit of a learning curve since i’ve just been using photoshop and paint tool sai this whole time, but once you start to get familiar w the interface and where things are, what things do what, etc. it def gets easier!! i think the brushes in krita are my favorite things. i don’t really like downloading and installing brushes i find the process so tedious and half of the time they’re not even what i’m looking for, so im very pleased that krita comes with a variety of brushes that do different things. i also like--when painting since that’s what im using it for--the brushes don’t feel too heavy or TOO smooth as well!! that’s my problem with painting in sai i find the whole thing too smooth and you’re really in the risk of over-blending. you DO still get that risk in krita but it’s very easy to fix your mistake and add in hard edges bc of the variety of brushes it offers. for sai i find most tools have that smooth feeling so adding the hard edges feels inorganic and it’s usually why i avoid painting there. (if that makes any sense) but imo sai is so good for linework tho! i don’t really like linework that are too hard/precise looking so the soft and smooth feel of sai is perfect for what i want. i find the colors a bit weird tho in the program it looks fine and vibrant but if i import it anywhere else it looks soo dull and muddy idk if it’s my setup ?? or that’s just how it is?? but i think if you’re working with krita make sure ur always posting it somewhere else (like in ur drafts) and checking ur colors in another screen (w ur phone) to see if it’s going how you like it. i mean you can easily adjust colors in post but still it’s so ?? to me. the layer system confused me too but once you figure out what buttons do what it def gets easier SO my biggest tip is def learn the interface!! and familiarize urself with the tools that ur going to use the most plus take advantage of shortcut keys.

dude your art is the shit! i am trying to get into digital art and i was wondering if you have any tips becuase i feel super lost everytime i open my program (krita). btw, love the vibes of the old school posters
Wow I'm so glad you think that my art is good!! That means the world 💞💗💕 I'm no one to give good advice especially in Krita BC I haven't used that before, but I'd work on getting yourself used to drawing digitally by doing exercises like drawing dots and connecting them with straight lines, drawing spirals etc. When I started I couldn't draw a line without it looking jittery, so doing those before drawing really helps. Also look up the shortcuts on your keyboard and change them to suit you (like I have my brush set to z, zoom to x, etc, just whatevers comfortable really). Find the right program for you as well! If Krita suits you great but don't be afraid to try different ones like paint tool sai (which is really good for beginners imo) or Photoshop (which is what I use now) lastly allow yourself to be bad!! This is lasting advice but just draw weird shit and figure out what feels good to you. Mess abt with colours n brushes and just be free, even if you're embarrassed of it, no one has to see! When I started digital I was an okay drawer but switching to digital threw me out of wack and I felt terrible (like I'd spent so much money on something that I couldn't even use RIP) sorry this is really scattered """advice"""" but it's just my own experience lol 😊 thank you so much for asking and saying such nice things!! Messages and asks like this keep me going to no end ♥️♥️♥️
