like, okay, context for prev reblog and also my post abt ~paranoid reading~ from this morning is that i was reading a thing [by a tradpub author of fannish origin, ftr] recently that described a corpse as "male-presenting" and an AI's self-projection as "genderless, inhuman" and i was just like. god i'm trying not 2 get my back up abt this bc i do think being a prickly reader is not, like, the best way to open yrself to art, cf isabel fall etc, but—!

#like in certain ways i do maybe grudgingly think the like. impersonalness of those assessments sort of fit with the story #but it really does put my back up SO much bc it's like. take fucking responsibility for yr interpretation of ppl!#instead of claiming it's sth They're Doing necessarily #like i have more respect for 'someone i thought was a woman' than 'female-presenting' if those are my options #(i mean obviously i would very strongly prefer a third option where you stop smearing yr gender gunk on the accident of my flesh #and also pick up what my haircut etc is putting down! but. you know.)#a corpse isn't fucking presenting anything!! still screeching abt it tbh.
