Maybe its just me, but its impossible for me to not see Izutsumi opening up to Marcille first and chosing to be around her more than the others at this point as "Teen girl with a very difficult past is suddenly in a group full of men and one woman. While the men seem nice and trustworthy, she is a teen girl and does not know them yet." Rather than anything influenced by her cat half or anything queer coded.

#not that izu isn't queer coded #(imo aroace and a trans allegory)#but a lot of her behavior seems more in line with her just being a 17 year old girl #than any other explanation #because I know I and my other AFAB friends did the same when in similar situations #obviously once she gets to know the boys and realizes they are as trustworthy as they seem #then it changes #but at this point in the story #im positive its just that Marcille is the only other girl in the party #so Izu sees her as the most safe until she gets to know everyone #this applies to their time in the golden kingdom too #if not especially
