I agree TT fucking sucks man, ppl on there ruin everything. like just let ppl enjoy what they like w/o harassing them. I like how you pointed out that fanfic isn't for general public, it's for certain audiences who search out for different things to read. like for me I don't like certain things but just because I don't like things doesn't mean I get to push MY boundaries on other people. I stay in my lane and ppl stay in theirs, simple as that. as long as things are tagged and warned, it's good
I have yet to see a thing from TT that people have not fucking desecrated so I want that app DESTROYED. 😂
But for real, like you said, I don’t know what’s so hard about letting people enjoy shit they like and finding the shit you like. I really want people to tap in with themselves and ask what kind of moral superiority or self-esteem inflated needs they are looking for when they shit on other people and their joy. Like really ask yourself what you gain from being mean to others or dog piling onto people, and then ask yourself why you need to go to those levels in order to feel good about yourself. FOOD FOR THOT.  And thank you for saying that! That takes a lot of self-realization to know what works for you, and that is really beautiful of you to also know it’s unfair to *push* boundaries onto others because the world can’t cushion itself for you in a sense just because you like XYZ and dislike ABC. Things don’t work that way. Like you said, if things are tagged and warned, that’s all the cushioning that’s already there (and it’s proof that the authors care) but people need to stay in their lanes and just navigate the internet in a safer way without needing to be assholes to others. I also know of authors adding TW way later when people point it out to them, and I also think that’s fair because we’re all only human and either miss things or just don’t know.  Sigh, it all makes me so upset. Like you said. Everybody needs to STAY in their lanes.
