Doggy DNA test results are back, and baby Cody is none of the breeds anyone thought he was.

*drumroll*

Quarter Cocker Spaniel (cute and fluffy yay! Guess that’s where his slightly curly tail hair comes from)

Quarter XL Bully/Pit-and-mix (the UK’s answer to the banned pitbull that just also got banned)

and Half Belgian Malinois (German Shepherd on Hard Mode)

Though the people we used also give you relative links, and there’s a dog which has low genetic match but high breed match (so they’re not directly related but their root breeds are very similar) and damn true. Roch even does the ear thing.

#rescue pup #he’s still way too scared of the outside #is pretty damn good for a puppy inside the home #but he’s scared of and panic barks at anything so easily outside #not a surprise now - that’s a lot of guard dog in him #and the problem is he’s triggered from ok to overflowing #in about a second #no steps between 30%-99%#he’s /used/ to panicking if that makes sense #his brain knows those pathways well so defaults to them #like a human with a panic disorder #but unlike a human he can’t do talking therapy #(we’d probably be fine if our road wasn’t so travelled)#(and our garden connected straight to the house)#(rather than going out and then down an alleyway to it)#(but we’ve got what we’ve got)#(so trial and error and training methods with his behaviourist)
