the worst part about compiling a list of inspirations for eli & the void is that i didn’t even register the donnie & the technodrome vibes but it absolutely showed up in my writing. the first scene in the emptiness folds itself outward in between has a lot of imagery that calls back to donnie taking off the battle shell & getting body horror’d about it
