.......I have been thinking Too Hard about my childhood experience in The Church™ lately because I am just barely refraining from putting in gratuitous Catholicism References in this fic for the sake of subverting them through the lens of romantic idolatry.

#it would not make sense for EITHER of these characters to do this. NEITHER of them has even REMOTELY anything that could be used #to suggest a background or even a FAMILIARITY with this #(there ARE some like...broader religious metaphors sprinkled in though.)#(but I'm not talking about that I'm talking like...taking this sect's approach to Anointing Of The Sick & making it blasphemously romantic)#(which again!! would make NO SENSE!!!!!!)#(gotta find characters with actual in-canon Religious Trauma so I can do this and have it seem organic)#The Fic That's A Lot
