as a loyal subscriber to the clone tord theory/au, i wanted to illustrate and write down the differences i thought of between the clone and the actual tord......
#eddsworld#ew tord#clone tord#wanted the differences to be like. like it's easy enough to mistake the clone for the actual tord#especially when none of the guys have seen the actual tord in 8 years#maybe he stopped wearing his stud and the earring hole closed. maybe he just styles his hair messier now. maybe he just got a new red hoodie#(which edd is all totally normal about btw. tom and matt are too but edd is ESPECIALLY normal. trust.)#EDITED bc i realized some of the wording might be weird. of course i never mean the real life guy but just wanted to be sure 🤷

Bow Ties
(AN: Okay, so maybe I can write pure fluff. Huh. Happy Valentines Day! So. This was an old fic I had written and debated on keeping to myself or not. It's honestly one of my favorites. But how could I not put it here? It's Valentines Day and Matt Appreciation Month. Speaking of which, yeah, this is a bit of cute TordMatt, which btw was one of the first EW couples I shipped (besides "poppet" of course), and I still love it. So this has got some sentimental value. Anyway. Hope you enjoy!) A soft creak was the only noise made as a young ginger crept into the room. He snuck to a corner and peered around it curiously as a brunette stared into a full length mirror, finishing off the last touches to his outfit. The brunette was humming a strange tune as he turned and walked over to a dresser. The ginger, seeing this as his chance, quietly moved from his spot, trying to sneak up behind the other person. “You look nice.” The ginger stopped dead in his tracks, only a couple of inches separating the two people. He had been so close! He tried to cover up his mistake by acting casual. “Of course I do! I always look nice.” Today, both of them were dressed especially fancy. They each wore nice two-piece suits with white dress shirts, the ginger a charcoal gray one and the brunette a classic black one. The brunette finally turned around, a smirk on his lips. He had apparently not found what he was looking for in the dresser. If he had been looking for anything at all… “I know” was all he said as he returned to the mirror. After a beat, the ginger followed him, wrapping his arms around him from behind. He gazed at the two of them in the mirror. Not for the first time, he noticed how much taller he was than his partner. He placed his square chin on the other’s shoulder, thinking that that only made them look all the more cute together. The brunette’s smirk softened as he felt himself be enveloped with warmth. He too gazed at the pair in the mirror. He noticed how the other was watching both of them and felt a surge of pride for the other. Normally, his ginger companion would be staring at himself and only himself when there was a mirror around. A warm feeling spread in the brunette’s chest as he realized that the other thought so highly of and cared so much about him to share the attention. His partner never failed to make him feel special. One of the ginger’s long arms snaked up and tugged at a bow tie around his neck. “What do you think about this?” He glanced down, suddenly worried about the other’s opinion. The brunette saw this, and his smile softened even further. He knew that this was as close to shy and insecure as his partner got. “It looks wonderful.” The ginger visibly sagged in relief. “Good.” A mischievous glint lit up his eyes. “Because I got you one too.” All at once, the brunette burst forward, breaking out of his partner’s hold, a panicked look in his eyes. He whirled around, facing the ginger. “What?! It is bad enough that I have to wear this… thing!” He gestured to his suit. “I am not wearing that!” The ginger almost giggled. He loved the fact that whenever the other got angry, his Norwegian accent became more pronounced. Instead, he smiled and tilted his head. “Oh come ooooon. You're the best man. You have to look extra spiffy. And you can only do that with fabulous accessories.” The brunette groaned, putting his head in his hands. “I already have a tie.” He pointed over to the open closet, where a tie was draped over a hanger. The ginger gave it a once over and grimaced. “But red is soooo 2007. And so are ties! Lavender and bow ties are in right now.” He waved the bow tie matching his own around from where he had kept it in his pocket. “You gotta keep with the times if you wanna impress.” The brunette finally sighed, his hands dropping to his aides. A smile was forming over his partner’s behavior. “Well maybe I'm just old fashioned.” “You got that right,” the ginger scoffed. “Heyyyy now.” The brunette put a hand on his hip with mock sass. “If you're trying to convince me to wear that thing, you're doing a pretty bad job of it.” The mischievous glint returned to the ginger's eyes. He suddenly leaned forward, giving his lover a chaste kiss on the lips. The other responded immediately, closing his eyes and leaning forward into the kiss. The ginger inconspicuously tied the purple bow tie around his partner’s neck while he was distracted. The kiss ended, and the brunette suddenly found a bow tie wrapped skillfully and perfectly around his neck. The ginger smirked at him. “How's that for convincing?” The brunette shook his head, smiling. “You should be a politician. Or a con man. Not that there's much of a difference.” They both laughed, a warm glow resonating in each of their chests and seeming to emanate from them to the rest of the sunlit room. It was a beautiful moment, one to remember forever fondly. “We should get going,” the brunette said with regret. Sensing his partner’s drop in mood, the ginger took his hand and smiled. “Shouldn't keep them waiting.” The brunette looked at their intertwined hands and smiled back. “Then let's do this.” They walked out, hand in hand. Neither of them wanted to ever let go. ~~~ The wedding ceremony was wonderful. One of the best that any of the guests had ever gone to. With two grooms so obviously in love and a best man so obviously proud of them, the atmosphere was filled with happiness. The reception, however, was what took the cake (pun totally intended). At least, for two people, it did. The two newlyweds, Paul and Patryk, were sitting together at the head of a long table set for eating. The best man and his partner were sitting next to each other on their left. Their friends, Tom and Edd, sat across from them. The rest of the guests were sitting down along the two rows. While they waited for the food, all of them chatted together. They talked about anything and everything. Edd had even dared to bring up the couple across from him’s matching bow ties. That was quickly silenced with a glare from the brunette and laughter all around. It was several minutes after that when the food was served to them by well-dressed waiters. They brought out dishes covered with silver dome covers. The platters were placed in front of them, and the covers were removed. It took a couple of moments for them to realize what had happened. And when they did, they all burst out laughing. Even the brunette, though there was a light blush on his face. When they had settled down, the brunette looked at the grooms questionably. They pleaded innocent and said that they had no idea what was going to be served. The brunette still glanced at them suspiciously several times and grumbled a bit but was calmed by a hand reaching for his under the table. He grasped it gently and glanced at his partner gratefully. Both Matt and Tord were smiling as they ate their pasta with matching little bow tie noodles, their hands once again intertwined perfectly. (AN2: This is dedicated to those who have someone to love and/or someone who loves them. Treasure that always.)
