ok but literally can we talk abt how stupid st season 3's opening was. oh my god. i was genuinely so pissed that they put a fucking MEGAMALL in HAWKINS that i stopped watching almost immediately
#that and the weird gross scene between mike's mom and b*lly#(who should not be a recurring character btw he tried to kill a black child. good fucking lord)#but anyway one of the draws abt st for me was it was set in a town very similar to mine. crummy small town in the midwest#where the FUCK are you going to put!!!! a megamall!!!!!!! in hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!#in THIS FOOD DESERT?#like fucking die. come on#and it makes me even more mad because the only reason they worked that into the plot was they were just fully mask off about the-#-capitalization of nostalgia atp. it was so clear that they prioritized 80s nostalgia over any immersion atp that they were just.#gonna drop a megamall into hawkins#because OMG LOOK GUYS ITS A NEAT 80S MALL ITS THE 80S OMFG GUYS LOOK#like im not saying thats not what they were doing the whole time. but oh my god at least before this they were more committed to just#setting a story in the 80s#(head in my hands) why did it go so weong#and another thing!!! why did they do that to the cop guy#talk about flanderization. he used to be interesting at the very least. why did you make him try to kill mike
