she paused in the middle of the living room, fingers holding onto the bottle of beer. blue hues grew colder, teeth biting down on her bottom lip. for some reason, being told that she was like @m0urtes did not exactly bring theo peace. quite the opposite, in fact. he was the one who never believed any of them, the one who wrote a book exposing them all. did she accept his money? yes. did she want to be like him? definitely no. though she did want to be normal. it had all she had ever wanted since she was a child. to stop feeling things and knowing things and seeing things / things that no one else felt or knew or saw most of the time. no, she was definitely not like steve. she was like their mom, a thought which terrified her even more. was she doomed too? would it all suddenly become too much one day? her eyes fell shut, exhaling slowly before bringing her bottle to her lips.
❝ is this your failed attempt at bonding with me now that you found out i am a lesbian, steve? ❞ theo inquired after a long sip, lips pressed together on a thin line as her gaze finally sought his. ❝ because you’re only about two decades too late. ❞
