let's go fly a kite-
for @lgcyichen
"oh... i'm not sure..." he begins, pressing his lips together to prevent the snort that wants to leave him watching yichen for a moment. believe or not, he had never flown a kite before, despite being from the u.k. he had never really come up-- his mother was never the type to be out and about, at least not for... trivial things like that. but really, he wasn't upset at this activity either. learning had turned into more fun than he could have ever thought, and it gave him a chance to know people more, as well as humor him.
like watching yichen, which he was sure, was tangling the kite until it was nearly stuck in a tree, making him hide a laugh with a cough. "not at easy as we thought. at least the weather not the... worst."

jasper had sort of... gained a slight reputation for being remarkably cool under pressure, and it was a reputation he couldn't help but be proud of. while people were tossing and turning the night before evaluations, their stomachs flipping, jas always appeared cool a cucumber, which he thinks has worked well to his advantage so far. they knew he wouldn't be nervous on stage.
or at least, not appear to be so.
this isn't quite different, even most frustrating things were met with a soft sigh and he offers a chuckle as he quietly picks up the string, seeing the knot and moving to undo it. "i actually thought you were gonna be 'cessful for a minute, there." he confesses with a cheeky smirk yichen's way. "i've almost got it though. and we have plenty of time-- don't stress, i'm surprised you don't have high blood pressure."
one might expect that flying a kite would be a breeze for someone as intelligent as yichen. true, he had tried it when he was younger but his father always ensured that the kite took to the sky successfully before handing over the strings. this means that yichen had never once managed to fly a kite by himself. achieving this kind of feat requires patience and he wasn't known for it. so, when the strings inevitably became tangled, he was far from pleased about it.
he stared at the jumbled mess of string on the ground after his kite took a nosedive and let out a sigh. he wanted to give it another shot but the string had other plans, tangling itself into an intricate knot. the male ignored jasper's comment and began untangling the string. however, his patience was wearing thin. "ugh, I can't do this!" he exclaimed, frustration boiling over as he tossed the tangled mess onto the ground.
