Days 7-9. Radiation therapy. Today's sketch is for all my radiation therapist colleagues who have been hard at work treating patients with covid-related changes in place. It's not fun wearing a ton of PPE all the time. Radiation therapy is often less visible in the public eye than other healthcare professions. Even though I'm now a radiation oncologist, I made it through my first three years of medical school without even knowing that radiation therapists existed! Days 3 & 4. Renal failure. . "I talked to her about whether she wanted the nephrostomy tube today. It might not be a bad way to go, a renal death. Because the alternative is heart failure, basically suffocating to death. It's a choice no seventeen year old should ever have to make.
