Hey 1899 talk tag! I applied for the Preacher and the Sparrow bc idk how to control myself (~so nice I applied for it twice) so I wanted to introduce myself and say howdy y’all!

what do you dig about the western vibe? I grew up in Arizona (don’t live there anymore tho!) and the cowboy/desert aesthetic has always been very comforting to me lol. I like Westerns a lot too, The Grand Silence happens to be my favorite! Even though that’s a Spaghetti Western and not a ‘true American Western’ don’t f*cking @ me old men! (I also really hate Clint Eastwood, so double don’t f*cking @ me old men!)

what’s your favorite color? Lilac! I happen to love all pastels tho. Maroon is also another favorite of mine so I guess just anything within the purple family.

what are some songs you’ve been loving lately? I’ve pretty much only been listening to Wave of Mutilation and Debaser for the past few days and they’re both by the Pixies. if you can’t tell by my alias, I love them lmao. I got really pissed in the bagel shop this morning tho bc Run Around by Blues Traveler was playing on the radio and i STILL remember the words to that song even tho I haven’t properly heard it since like.. 1997

what meme do you think you use most frequently? I don’t really have any pics or gifs on hand but I’ve constantly been saying “this ain’t it chief” for like a week now and I can’t stop. send help

what characters do you usually like to write, and why? I typically write men, though I enjoy writing women as well! I’ve just been told I write men very well and the greatest compliment I ever got rp-wise was that I made a very authentic guy instagram edit lmaoo. I tend to write characters that are rather stoic/depressed or completely insecure but cover it up with jokes/bravado. Mostly I enjoy writing characters that are really different outwardly than myself, or characters that have different beliefs than mine (such as playing a Priest when I’m atheist myself!) so I have to put myself out of my head and really think about things from the other side.

anything else? I love this rp and I really hope I get accepted. If not, I’m going to be obsessively lurking the main every day and reading all the character interactions like the god damn morning newspaper.

what do you dig about the western vibe? okay, so, the history of it???? and the pride people take in it -- so long as it’s not the racist way. like, my best friend’s grandma lives in oklahoma, and is like 1/8th cherokee. and this grandma has a whole room devoted to the heritage in their house?! also, that vintage look and sound of music is so lovely and being from a tourist town where that’s celebrated all the time means that it’s kind of ingrained in me to like those things. also, i just love cowboys and history. so, everything’s cool! 

what’s your favorite color? yellow. oh my god, yellow. when i was in high school, we did this production of the addams family musical, and my best friend played alice. and her line is “yellow is the color of happiness and fun,” and we say it all the freaking time. so, while the color itself is so pretty -- it’s come out of adoration. (i can’t believe i just wrote that much on a color.)

what are some songs you’ve been loving lately? hAH. so, i have this knack for getting into really famous bands too late. it’s the beatles right now. i’m twenty and i’m just now going through a beatles phase??? like, there was a mini blip in 7th grade, but this is a magnum opus of adoration. somehow, though, i’ve always loved george harrison? like i knew “oh, he’s a beatle” but would listen to his solo music without question. i also am really loving first aid kit right now, and the glenn miller orchestra? writing a book set in the 40′s means it’s like all i can listen to to concentrate. 

what meme do you think you use most frequently? i just quote a lot of gabriel gundacker things.....ALL THE TIME. half the time, they don’t make sense in situations. i’ll say “zendaya is meechee” like twice a day. 

what characters do you usually like to write, and why? having a pretty boring life has lead me to writing as diversely as i can....but i tend to write female characters. like, my current book is about a war correspondent in the pacific?? but the last one was about a small southern town and the anti-christ??? so, it all changes. role play wise, i don’t have much to base this answer off of. 

anything else? so, uhm, i’ve never really done a skeleton rp before (that lasted longer than like a week)?? i’m watching this and trying to learn as quietly as i can. so, if it takes me a second to do something new, i’m very sorry. i learn from watching others and googling a lot. i’m really always open for anything. i just want other people to be happy, and am immensely a people pleaser. there’s a good chance that when you read this, whenever that might be, i’m probably giggling somewhere. for no reason. i giggle and laugh a LOT.

what do you dig about the western vibe?

gosh. everything. i think the freedom of it is really appealing. i’m a big fan of red dead, i can play that game for hours at a time without moving, and while i like the storyline my favorite part of it was just riding around on my horse exploring every inch of the game’s map.

oof. i haven’t been listening to much music lately besides the same 10 songs i play over and over again. my taste is all over the place. however, since coming across this rp i’m back in my annual ennio morricone hole. at the other end of the spectrum, i listen to body by luxury a lot when i need to space out and write.

i really try not to write the same types of characters all the time because i get bored pretty easily, however i love darker characters. one could say my personal brand is fun-loving bisexuals who take terrible measures to avoid dealing with past trauma lmao

hi friends ! i held off on filling this out until after acceptances largely because i worked hella 14 hour shifts in a row and was scrambling to app in time BUT also because i’m neurotic and wanted to make sure i was accepted first lmao.

what do you dig about the western vibe? i was born in eastern oregon in a town very popular for round up and its cowboy aesthetic ( there’s even an underground city museum where you can tour the speakeasies, opium dens, and brothels ! ). i grew up on spaghetti westerns with my papa and i’ve always loved the lawlessness of the wild west. preacher was my favorite comic book of all time ( yes, i’m old enough to have read it when it was being released lmao ) and it has such a beautiful western vibe as well.

what’s your favorite color? oh, i’m so bad at picking favorites. i love olive and soft pink the most maybe? i mostly wear grey, white and black though maybe ??

what are some songs you’ve been loving lately? oh, gosh. i listen to a lot of shit. my music taste is like a giant grab bag of dark synth, 80s music, 90s hiphop, crust punk, hair metal, old country, weird shit ... idk where to stop. i’m been belting out heart’s alone for like a month now. i watched the umbrella academy trailer and have had hazy shade of winter stuck in my head ever since. i’m always obsessed with anything beach house has ever done and i listen to a lot of jurassic five and kendrick lamar ig.

what meme do you think you use most frequently? uhhh, i’m not sure i use a ton of memes, but maybe the heavy breathing cat or the confused guy meme. idk idk.

what characters do you usually like to write, and why? i write women primarily because that’s my thing. i love writing women who’ve been through traumatic experiences because it helps me work through my own stuff as well as medical characters because that’s the field i work in and it’s fun to write medical shit and helps me process things i see everyday. i love genre writing--westerns, horror, scifi, etc. i’m super into true crime but not in a gross creepy way ( i promise ! ) just in a ‘raised by a family obsessed with murder mysteries’ kind of way.

anything else? i’m a giant dork with a hyperactive rude dog and a full time job / on-call job on the side, so i’m a busy li’l beaver. i might be slow on ims, but usually quick on replies ! come talk to me !! let’s talk turkey.
