That’s because the Pfaltzgraff family never strayed from their original intention to create simple, rustic, functional dishware. 🍂 Founded in 1811 by husband and wife team, Johann and Elenora Pfaltzgraff in York County, PA, Pfaltzgraff Pottery has grown into a world renowned company that has been in continuous operation for over 200 years. I just love stories like that! Did Johann and Eleanor ever imagine that their company would still be relevant all these centuries later? We may never be able to ask them that question now, but I think their ultimate commitment to their pottery showed up in their work and their designs and their desire to create a good dish of useful character from day one. The fact that it’s lasted a gazillion days since is a marvel and a treasure. I hope this bowl of theirs is just as lucky and is just as useful in the 2180s as it was in the 1980s and as is it now in the 2020s.
