We feel that it is our duty to address our customers’ queries carefully. At times, it is something we have already discussed in our blog posts. In that case, we ask the customer to go through the article, or we just do a quick recap for them. We also ask our highly trained experts to answer any queries. Undoubtedly, face-to-face interaction with an expert can go a long way in addressing any questions.

However, some people feel shy or simply do not have the time to ask their queries in-person. In that case, we use the power of our blog. Most recently, a few of our customers asked us whether they should wash their cars in winter. We noticed that it was fast becoming a question that was on everyone’s minds. It is why we have decided to address the issue in today’s post. But before we do that, let’s take a look at the essentials of a good car wash.

CAR WASH ESSENTIALS

The first thing that you would need is a dirty car. Many people have a dirty habit of washing their already clean car. They think that it is good practice but is clearly not. Here’s why. ‘Over-washing’ can leave water spots on the car, along with damage the paint or even cause rust. Therefore, only wash your automobile if it is dirty.

Once you have made sure that the car is worthy of a wash, you will need two buckets of water. Avoid using a hose because you will waste a lot of water. The world is facing a major water crisis, and everyone must play their part in conserving water. So, opt for two buckets of water. Next, you will need car wash soap, microfiber cloth, drying cloth, and an area where there is no direct sunlight.

You might have missed it, but we said not to wash the car in a place where there’s no direct sunlight. Why? The reason is that direct sunlight dries the vehicle prematurely. It can result in water spots in different areas of the car, and it is something which should be avoided at all costs. These spots can damage the paint over time.

Now, let us get back to the main topic.

SHOULD YOU WASH YOUR CAR IN WINTER?

Many people shy away from washing their cars in the winter because they think it is less dirty and due to the extreme cold. After all, everyone prefers the opportunity to keep themselves warm over getting wet while washing the vehicle. If you are one of these many people, we have some bad news. Just like in summers and other seasons, the car can get dirty in winters. Therefore, you must always wash your car in winter just like you would do in the other seasons.

Many people ignore the car’s interior while cleaning the exterior. Remember, the interior is just as important as the exterior. A vehicle’s value can suffer a significant hit if the interior is suffering from degradation.

If you live in areas that experience snowfall, you have one more reason to get a regular car wash. In regions with snowfall, salt is used to melt the snow. The salt is extremely harmful to the paint. Apart from this, rotten leaves can also stick to your vehicle and start damaging the car. Therefore, there is no reason not to wash a car in winter.

I'm visiting from the US, and notice that coffee shops in Korea seem to only provide espresso based drinks (americanos, lattes, etc). Batch coffee or pour overs seem to be a bit hard for me to find.Do folks have any recommendations for cafes or coffee shops that offer pour overs as an option? There have been a slew of posts by parents whose kids want to become Christians, or whose parents/in laws, take their kids to Sunday school

There is a way to inoculate your children against religion. This is what I successfully did.

I bought books of creation myths from around the world, and D'Aulaire's Greek and Roman Myths. I also bought a children's picture book telling the Genesis story of creation. I had a text from the Secular Humanist Jewish guys that dealt with Genesis.

I started with the Greek myths and as we read them, I interspersed my talking with questions along the lines of:- how do you think that people who didn't have science to rely on would explain how the world was created?- without science, how do you think ancient man would explain fire/night/day/seasons. etc,

Once we had done the Greek Myths, I chose stories from each mythology that explained similar things. We read them, with me all the time stressing these were stories of prescientific people

Then we read the creation story from Genesis. As we read it, I compared and contrasted all the stories we'd read. They looked for similarities and differences.

Then I read then a bunch of kids picture books on evolution/big bang etc and stressed that now that we have science, we know that all those mythologies are just fun stories

I firmly put the genesis story into the realm of made up mythology.

Then we worked through the major stories from the Torah (we're ethnically and culturally Jews). Where I could find similar stories from other mythologies, I included them. Every time, we looked at what the science would say.

Finally I went to the Jesus story and the counterparts in other religions. I brought in the history I knew about the fervor of the Jews in occupied Israel for a messiah and how they were a dime a dozen at that time.

That's all it took. My kids were firmly inoculated from an early age. As they aged, we had more intellectual discussions, but those early days showing them the mythology and talking about science is what created 2 firm atheists.
