We’ve seen him slowly start to show some emotion since then; there’s been some PDA with Nora and Jaune (it’s subtle but it’s there if you look for it - having his hand on her shoulder or letting her hug him, wrapping his arm around Jaune, that sort of thing) and he’s actually smiling and laughing and initiating conversations with people! His terrified, “NO!” when he sees Cordovin taking her shot at Jaune and Nora and the way his voice cracks when he sees them again and immediately runs for them to help support Jaune is a huge thing for him. And how he’s getting from Robot Ren™ to starting to allow himself feelings is what An Invisible Boy is all about, actually.

I am working on the next chapter, btw; I’ve been sidelined with a really nasty cold that I actually think was the flu which has now, I suspect, gone into bronchitis. (In other words, I am calling my doctor first thing Monday morning.) But I am still toodling along, no worries!
