50 ANOS 🌹🇵🇹 25 de Abril Sempre 💕
O povo unido jamais será vencido!
For those who don't know, the 25th of April is the date of the Carnation Revolution, in which the Portuguese people came together to overthrow the oppressive f𝗮scist government. This year marks the 50-year anniversary of that achievement! Here's to 50 more years of freedom!
[ENGLISH:]
Today marks 50 years since the Carnation Revolution. The moment when the people freed themselves from the shackles of an old rotten empire, and let the past stay in the past. The moment in which the Portuguese chose to live in a small and peaceful country, instead of watching their sons, brothers and parents die in vain in a pointless war. The moment in which the guard dropped their guns, disobeyed their orders, and let the failed "New State" dissolve itself in history. Let's not let the memory of this moment erase itself, as many would like it to. Let's not let peace, that was so hard to achieve, be eroded by the hateful. Let's leave for the future generations, and for all the other nations, the example:
Choose liberty and peace, and fight only for these. No dream, no flag, no empire, is more important than that.
