hey since you gotta know the lights in kelvin why does my samsung s9 make everything much Bluer than it is irl. I KNOW there's gotta be settings somewhere to manually control the light temperature but i cannot find it and tbh i feel like the real reason probably is "s9 camera sucks get a real camera you scrub"
samsung automatically tries to correct for white balance and the blue is indicative it's mistaking your light source for incandescent or warm light and lowering the overall light temperature to compensate. it's not uncommon with multiple light sources; the automatic correction is done to the strongest light source, so a secondary source of a different temperature gets distorted.
if you're taking photos under fluorescent, it can get especially weird since fluorescent is balanced close to daylight, but has an unmistakable green hue that is sometimes hard to correct. even in daylight bulbs without green hues this can get funky under the right circumstances; at times my cream lampshade with a daylight bulb gets overcorrected to look bluer.

while editing a photo in gallery, you can select the bottom icon and manually adjust temperature with the [K] icon. the lower/more orange your temperature, the closer to candlelight. the higher/bluer, the more like an overcast day it is. a clear, cloudless day should be around 5000K. adjust by eye, but make sure you aren't using a blue light screen filter.
i never let samsung auto-balance my photos. it never looks right.

first photo was taken using daylight lighting/52000k, shadows are soft but still not much light coming into the photo.
third photo was taken using shade lighting/70000k, shadows are much more darker and deeper but there is a warmth overtone to the photo.
third photo was taken using tungsten lighting/32000k, shadows are much more dramatic and darker compared to shade. there is a cool, blue over tone to the photo.
overall -> i like the warmth overtone that shade lighting brings, it reminds me of film and i think it'd be really cool to use in my photos. i also like the cool blue overtone of tungsten lighting and i think would be really cool to use in horror related creative photos. there is some hue to the daylight photo but i think it looks the same as normal but really cool to see.

first photo was taken using daylight lighting/52000k, the photo is quite equally balanced with the tones and bright. the lighting coming from the windows is reflecting but also the secondary lighting is leaving reflections as well.
second photo was taken with shade lighting/70000k there is more warmth in the photo, kind of looks like the light coming from outside has dulled down.
third photo was taken using tungsten lighting/32000k, more dramatic and cool. can't really see much light coming from outside but interior lighting is still reflecting off surfaces.
overall -> i think the daylight lighting works really well with these photos but it was really cool to experiment with.

The idea here is to redirect some of this precious light falling through the window or door (interrupt the light) to fill in the shadows, so as to create an image with as much detail as possible.

Time of Day: 10am
Sky: partially cloudy.
Interior Lighting: 2800 approx
Number of frames shot: 03
Reflection:
The different types of light changed the atmosphere and scenery of the picture. From the lowest 3000K, my room looks as it usually would perfectly captivating how it looks in real time. In the middle 4000K, the picture has an almost violet hue to it but still having warmth to it while not being overly saturated and matches the colour of my room well. Lastly 5000K, the effect it leaves on the picture has developed a warm and cozy atmosphere perfect for sleep. This task has taught me how different types of lighting can shapes how the environment is viewed and what possible messages it can tell.

Reflection:
I experimented with domestic and daylight lighting and how it can affect my image. As observed, the two light sources and the white balance on top of it amplifies the tones of the scene. The first image of 3000K generates a cooler tone and washing out any warm tones in the scenery. The middle 4000K white balance highlights both cool and warm tones well without blocking the other out. In the last image with 5000K white balance has an opposite effect, the image has a warmer tone and washes out cool tones and the shadows/lighting that appears from the cooler toned lights. To transistion between the tungsten and daylight, it would be best to use an in-between light to subtly blend the two different light sources with a common ground. As seen in the pictures above, the middle picture has a white balance of 4000K, an in-between for the tungsten and daylight sources which will ease the two sources as it is a perfect mix of the two.

WK3: SDL: White Balance Still Life study:
5:30pm.
-Photo with just daylight from the windows
-Next 'Sunny' 5000K WB setting
-3rd photo is 'domestic light' 3000K
-4th photo is in-between, about 4000K (tungsten light)
The next 5 have the tungsten WB left on because I forgot to toggle it back to auto. The funny thing is that I actually noticed (eventually) when I used my warm-fill light, and the photo still felt a bit blue, so I realised that I must have the wrong WB setting on.
Back on auto wb:
From photo 11 : warm fill light
12: cool fill light
13: just the cool-toned ceiling light
14: ceiling light off; daylight from the windows.
I found that with WB I could control the tone of light, and the mood of the image to either compensate for the weather, or to emphasise it, like making a scene seem colder and wintery with indoor-light settings for example.
I also learned, the higher the K number, the warmer the light as well.
I personally prefer the look of the last 3 photos, especially the first of the three with the warm light-fill, and the last one with just the evening daylight.

Comparing these 3 photos of the living room of my house, obviously these are set at different colour temps. From this littel exercise, it's best if I use a warmer (more daylight) Kelvin colour balance in order to get a better representation of what the living room actually looks like in the real world. Nowadays, cameras have really good auto white balance, but sometimes the camera will find it diffucult to know what Kelvin to settle on.
It's also easier to change your white balance in Post-Production, especially when shooting RAW, very easy to change the Kelvin of your white balance to get it to look right.

Taken of my cousins stroller in the living room during noon. Clear skies and sunny. Quite dark in the area, but its a high dymanic scene so it's a good area to test out the difference when a white reflective piece of material bounces the light off back into the scene. Roughly 5000K colour temp.

The primary reason for my preference lies in the aesthetically pleasing shapes and shadows cast by the window and a single tree branch.
