Of course!!!

I'm super fine with people shipping PJ with self inserts (or like... with any character to an extent; I do have my own personal pairings I'm not a fan of, which is listed in my FAQ)!

Cause honestly - I view each different pairing as it's own separate AU. Just because in canon PJ is with Omni, doesn't mean it must always be the two of them in every single AU iteration!

AIs? No. I don't plan on creating any of that either from scratch or by an existing program.

I'll have to add this to the FAQ at some point, but I'm not the biggest fan of the current implementation of AIs.

I (we) love creating doujinshi and character goods, selling them at events and mail order, and interacting with fans.

Can I do doujin activities at Paper Jam?

We do not benefit from this activity.

I have read the FQA. However, there was no information about doujin activities, so I thought I should check it out, so I made an inquiry.

If it is a commission, there is a statement that it is a one-time only, but does that mean that there will be no reprints for doujinshi, for example? Or do you mean that paper jams appear only once in doujinshi made by individuals? Sorry for not being able to understand much.

Also, this question was created through a translator. I'm sorry if there are any unnatural parts.

Hello! Thank you for the ask!

I am honestly very honored that you would consider to put PJ into a doujinshi! I have heard about doujinshis here and I cannot believe someone would like to place PJ in one of them!

To answer the question:

If there are no earnings from handing out the doujinshi PJ is in, then you are okay!

If there are earnings, please make it a limited run. If it is only a small window of time that people can get the doujinshi, then you are good.

When I had mentioned one time only, it was for the instance of the project. For example: A book would be counted as a whole for a project instead of each individual page PJ would appear on.

In Japan, doujin events are held several times a year. Would it be okay if I put out a new manga that PJ also appears in the newly written manga for each event?

Yes - I would consider each separate doujinshi as it's own separate project.

And of course you can send these answers to them! I am honestly surprised that there are fans in Japan… and still super honored that there are potential doujinshis out there!

Hello. I have a question regarding the guideline 9.Q, "Can I sell products / commissions / etc. with [character(s)] in it?".Is it possible for us to sell goods and fanbook if there is just a small amount of inventory (5 to 30), and no income is generated from selling the goods? (This is possible in Japan due to the sell price of items being equal or less than the printing fee.)

Oh yes - limited run products are just fine! Especially if it's in that type of format that you mentioned.

It was just hard to describe that in the FAQ properly at the time I was writing it.

I've heard from some friends that you didn't want to people to roleplay Paper Jam in public Discord server. But, from what I've seen on your FAQ (2021 edition), you said that it was okay for you to let people roleplay PJ (I didn't find any other FAQ for 2022/2023).

Sooo.. What's your actual opinion on this ? I wanted to roleplay Paper Jam in a server (of course, I've done researches on the character before choosing to roleplay PJ), and so I want to know if you are okay with this or not !

When I did mention chat rooms and private servers, I was thinking of Discord. While yes, Discord servers are 'public' in some cases... that just means that anyone can join them. I still view them as just chat rooms though.

So as long as you are not trying to be the 'official PJ' in any capacity - I see no issue with you RPing as him!

GUIDELINES

1.Q: Can I draw your character(s)?

A: Yes. Please credit myself in the description when you post it (and/or tag me if you post it to a platform I'm also on). Also refer to question 6.

2.Q: Can I write fan-fiction with your character(s)?

A: Yes. Please credit myself in the notes/description when you post it (and/or tag me if you post it to a platform I'm also on). Also refer to question 6.

3.Q: Can I have your permission to make an alternate version of your character?

A: Yes. Please take the time to read the full FAQ / Guidelines prior to creating your variation. And have fun!

4.Q: Can I voice act as [character] for comics / stories / etc?

A: Yes. Please refer to questions 5, 6 and 8 prior to publishing works.

5.Q: Can I be the official voice for [character]?

A: There will not be any official voices for characters I have made.

6.Q: Can I write / draw NSFW (Not Safe For Work) of character(s)?

A: No. Please do not post any variation of sexual NSFW including character(s) online. Do not show in detail on any acts that would require a 'fade to black' treatment. This includes but not limited to in$est, v0re, and r@pe. General violence - i.e. battles / fights - is allowed, however, please contact me for any additional questions regarding to this topic.

7.Q: I found NSFW art / story on [website / app] with your character(s) - what should I do?

A: If the website does not allow NSFW in any aspect, report the piece using the correct filter. If the website does allow, then please ignore the item. Do not report art / stories on my or any artist's behalf (i.e. saying you represent the original artist).

8.Q: Can we include a character(s) of yours in a project?

A: Yes, as long as there is no monetization. (Refer to question 9)

9.Q: Can I sell products / commissions / etc. with [character(s)] in it?

A: Depends - Please look at the list below for clarification. 1) One Time Products / Commissions: If a product is only created one time - i.e. a digital/traditional art commission or a one time custom plush - and is not sold in mass production, that is okay. There cannot be a dedicated page for a product with a character of mine - even if the item is labeled "Made to Order" or "Custom Plush [Character Name]" or similar variations. Refer to question 6 as well. 2) Mass Produced / Factory Made Products: No. Do not sell anything with any characters I've created that is massed produced. This includes but not limited to: TShirts produced on websites like RedBubble, Amazon, etc; Mass producing plushies either via factory or by hand (having many created prior to selling); Charms / Buttons / Stickers created in a factory to be sold. 3) Monetization of Videos / Patreon Support for Project / Kickstarter of Project: No. Do not include my character(s) in a project that is monetized. This includes but not limited to: dubbing comics / images / stories that I have created; dubbing comics / images / stories that include character(s) that are not fully distinguished from originals; creating a Patreon specifically around the project including character(s).

10.Q: Can I use [character(s)] as my icon?

A: Yes. Credit appropriately within your header / description (i.e. character by 7goodangel, art by [artist]).

11.Q: Can I repost your artwork to [website / app]?

A: No. Do not repost my artwork to other websites or apps.

12.Q: Can I do the lineart / color for a picture you've done traditionally / digitally sketched?

A: Please send me an ask on Tumblr or message me on dA if you plan to do this.

13.Q: Can I translate asks / facts about character(s) / etc to [language]?

A: Yes. Please give proper credit and links to original question.

14.Q: Can I create an ask/RP account for [character(s)]?

A: No. The only exception to this is if the version is a variation / alternate you've created or had permission for.

15.Q: Can I RP as [character(s)] in other ways?

A: You can RP as [character(s)] within private servers / chat rooms with prior noting that variation will not line up with original.

16.Q: Can we RP with [character(s)] in NSFW situations?

A: Refer to question 6.

17.Q: Where are you from?

A: Earth.

18.Q: Can we become friends?

A: There are no guarantees.

19.Q: How long have you been drawing?

A: Most of my life - but started to focus into current style in 2006.

20.Q: What programs / tools do you use for your drawings?

A: In the past, programs I used were Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5. Currently, I use Clip Studio Paint. Traditional is mostly typical printer paper and mechanical pencils.

21.Q: Can you draw [character(s)]?

A: Not likely. If opened to suggestions - I may draw them if there is time. Please do not expect all suggestions to be fulfilled.

22.Q: What about pairings / ships?

A: I'm pretty neutral with most ships, except for dynamics like in$est, abusive or [adult x minor] (whether actual ages or coded like that). (Note: Exceptions can/is more than listed.). Though I typically ship in more of a friendship way verses romantic.

23.Q: Are you okay with the ship FreshPaper / PaperFresh / Fresh x Paper Jam?

A: I am fine with others shipping this. I have my own interpretations for this ship that are different from most. Refer to question 22.

Gosh I love seeing what people can create and am always surprised when I see PJ or honestly - any of my characters in a story / comic / piece!

(Like... I read a fan fiction a while back and screamed (good scream) when I saw the glimpses of PJ coming into the story - screamed even louder when I noticed Paint Papyrus was also there! XD)

Q: Can I voice act as Paper Jam for comics / stories / etc?

A: I got a good handful of you asking me this, and I am still honestly shocked that people would want to voice for them! Now - I know there were a few to ask to be the ‘official’ one, which I will have to say, no one can really be the ‘official’ voice for Paper Jam. However - to answer: Yes you can voice act for Paper Jam, as long as the projects follow my guidelines for the ��selling products / commissions / etc”. If someone commissions for a one time voice acting line as PJ - that’s all good! But any long series or any videos that could potentially be monetized is where I draw the line. Please do not monetize off of any of my characters for more than a one off / handful of items. But hobby / non-monetized series of stuff is still a-okay!!

Q: Can I have your permission to make [X] version of your character?

A: Of course! You can always make different versions of my characters! I love seeing what other ideas people can come up with! Just read through my FAQ and place proper credit! Otherwise - have fun!

Q: What do you use to draw? (Kind of Tablet, kinds of programs)

A: I used to use a tablet PC as well as Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator for my art... but now I use a Wacom screen tablet with Clip Studio Paint! I’ve had CSP for less than a year, and while it’s lacking in some filters that Photoshop had, I still love it a heck of a ton more! And it’s cheaper than any Adobe product by far!

Q: I found N/SFW art on [website] of your characters... what should I do?

A: First - thanks for wanting to help me out! But at this time... it’s kinda a long battle that I will never win. Internet, in general, likes n/sfw and I totally get that! But for my characters - it is an impossible battle to try to take down every n/sfw art with them. Honestly - I am having more frustration over reposters than n/sfw lately. Just note, please take a look at a creator’s FAQ prior to making art, just in case.

As for if you do find n/sfw art of my characters? If the site it’s on doesn’t allow n/sfw in any fashion - report it. If the site does allow n/sfw, just move on! While I do appreciate people mentioning it to me, I personally rather not know it’s out there. I made my stance on the subject, and I can only hope people will take the time to research and respect my stance.

A: Of course!!! His old design is still canon-ish to his true story! And I am totally fine with people drawing it!!!
