Soemday I’ll read a book where the characters don’t grate against my brain for 200 pages too long and I’ll like a book again holy shit the last two books I read part of were total garbage fiction
#one was insanely popular#to name it vaguely it was a pretentious art game of a damnably poorly done novel#swapping povs so violently I almost got whiplash#the gaming part of it was Fun the characters were idiotic assholes#which can be fun until they keep being dicks with no reason to be dicks#especially when they can just Not Be Friends Anymore#it would be easy and cut the book tidily in half#a gift to the fiction#pretentious fucking idiots#the other one was sapphic fantasy with the blandest plot imaginable#it was just boring and I hit one fatphobic description of a clearly irritating dude and I was out#anyway I’m done whining about two dnfs#one was 80% when I gave in and went it’s dragging harder now#other was under 20%#80 was pretentious dickheads 20 was sapphic enemies to lovers presumably but was a total nothing sandwich
