For thirty-five teens, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in the world of royalty. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of Prince Karma. But for Shiota Nagisa, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning his back on his best friend and secret 'lover' Kayano Kaede, who is in a bad living situation. Leaving his home to enter a fierce competition for a crown he doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks. Then Nagisa meets Prince Karma. Gradually, he starts to question all the plans he's made for himself and realizes that the life he'd always thought he'd have may not compare to a future he never imagined.
